I first visited this mall about a year ago. As my husband and I were leaving we saw a couple of guys trying to break into cars. They were just casually going around and trying doors to see if one would open. We found security and told them what was going on and saw them stop the gentlemen as we were driving away. This happened on a Saturday afternoon. Im originally from the Milwaukee area and still go down there quite frequently. Over the years Ive seen the revitalization of some if the malls (i.e. Mayfair, Brookfield Square). I think this mall has a long way to go to catch up to other malls. For example I was just there the other day, and the food court is nonexistent. Honestly, these days I do most all of my shopping online.

Its an ok mall. The biggest pluses it has are the kids play area, Barnes and Noble and a Buffalo Wild Wings. Food options inside the mall are standard food court, but then there is a Culvers and a Doolittles Wood Fired Grill in the parking lot on the North side. There have been some shootings and other police incidents, but I feel like they have done a good job at preventing anything like that from happening again.

There are lots of changes being made to this mall and transition does not always make your shopping experience an exciting one during changes. Some stores are leaving and others moving around in the mall, which can make things a little confusing when youre looking for a specific store or product. So, be patient and the changes will be great when complete, Im sure.

If you want options for places to shop and to get some uniqueness in what you see then this is your place. You can get what you need and get out or spend time walking from store to store checking things out. Its definitely easy to spend a couple hours here if its what you desire. Its well run and Ive never had any issues here.

Its a mall with a variety of stores. It also has a play area for kids. I would of gave it 5 stars, but on the kid play area there is a section were they dont let kids play or go to. Usually the security guards yell at the kids to get out. If they arent to be there they should just remove it. That would make more sense.

Currently under a lot of construction what should emerge from that construction will be a lot better than the empty feeling it has right now. Anchor stores are pretty decent. If the new movie theater and large restaurant that they are putting in has the same effect as the similar design at West Town it will be great.

Ok but 3rd world in design and affability. Entrance areas dirty, druggy....food area uninviting....hard to get around in a hurry with a wheelchair. A lot of people have moved to Madison in the last ten years and our facilities like this have not been keeping up. Ill stick to purchasing on line.

In the middle of a week day there were kids everywhere. East Towne Mall should ban children East Towne Mall should ban children without an adult during the day as they do on Saturdays and Sundays whose kids should be in school or at least not be allowed to shop or eat in the food court all day

Nice Mall with a great deal of updates. Security is a joke though. They dont get involved in anything. Teenagers run the food court as Security cleans tables. They should make shoppers feel safe with a more enforcement, hands on type of security like the bigger city malls.

It has gotten quite crappy over the years. Everytime you tirn around a different store either closes or moves leaving more empty stores. The food court has lost quite a lot of places too, now there are only 5/10 of the restaurants open. Id rather go to west towne.

Always a great place to chill and and meet people. As well as obviously shop. You can shop till youre sore, then get a massage in the center of the store, and get your feet rubbed down one of the wings! Only thing missing is a movie theatre in the building! Haha.

This place is getting pretty run down. The food court is like a ghost town of vacant spaces. The crowd it attracts is not the best and it seems that theyre content with that from the effort they appear to be putting in. Madisons West Towne Mall is much better.

Though the mall is nearly lifless due to the renovations as well as increase in e-commerce sale, it does offer a variety of popular stores such as GameStop and Lids. Though I wish the mall was maintained a bit more, but it is a decent experience overall.

This place sucks. Not a single store I would go to. I am a guy so my opinion is biased in the fact as an adult male there isnt a single place in there I would shop. Only thing worth stopping for is the pretzels. This is why everyone shops online.

There are many of us that are so disappointed that most of the food court has been shut down. We cannot even get a cup of coffee there! Many seniors spent time there having coffee and visiting --- then shopping. We are going other places now.

Mall was clean and well lit. There were plenty of stores, however, as malls go, there were people everywhere. Kids that werent watched or 11 year olds that were there alone in groups of 20 make the mall a "get in and get out" type of place.

I have been visiting East Towne Mall since 2001. I enjoy the mall and the offerings that are available. It is nice to have family restaurants and access to nice clothing without having to drive to the west side of Madison or Milwaukee.

Mall appears to be getting a needed upgrade. Floors are under renovation. Food court businesses have thinned out. There are still quite a few of the main chain stores. West Town has better food and shopping if that is an option.

Typical mall setting. More stores are opening up the back of the store to enable access from the parking lot. A couple of big box stores remain, but availability and service is not what it was. Easier to buy online.

Its okay, but its always a zoo. There arent a ton of decent stores like the west side. It would be greatly improved with a Lush or H&M. At least they have a Planet Fitness, which sure beats another cheap shoe store.

Like that they are slowly getting some new stores. Parts of the parking lot are really dark by Sears. Wish theyd turn more lights on inside in common areas that are darker. Needs to be brighter like West Towne.

Went to Culvers, food was good and the staff was awesome. Even the GM came out and asked how our food was and brought some straws with a smile for one person in the back of the booth who forgot to get one.

Great mall, as of August 2017 however the food court is almost non-existent with 3 restaurants at the moment! However there is still at Starbucks and Auntie Annes pretzel place, my personal favorites.

There are much better shopping options in Madison and the Madison metro area than East Towne, but if you are on the east side those other options can be a pain to get to. It is a serviceable mall.
