I am finally done with Duvall Safeway. I love Duvall but am happily back at family grocer. Rodger, the manager at Safeway is nice but useless. He allows his produce to be horrible, old, and lacking in flavor form the apples to heat to the habaneros. As he bit into a habanero he grabbed while I walked with him talking to him he said he does not like like spicy but this has some. He should have been grabbing for milk or something from heat by now. Still nothing changed. This on top of he also allows this specific cashier in the uscan to be employed there that has offended me several times and even after climbing the corporate ladder to vocalize my complaints about this women who has from Rodgers own mouth had "10 other people complain about her" be employed there and to this day harassing other people I talk to is just ridiculous. I do not understand how they can allow this to go on. P.S. this was a few months ago and nothing has changed

With two grocery stores in town (not including the specialty Mexican grocer at the north end of town), this has a topic debated nearly as heavily as BBQ and pizza. Safeway is a large store with middle-of-the-road selection including staples and a a handful of specialty items. Produce tends to be a little lackluster, as does seafood. Meat department is typical of a mega-grocer with much in the way of pre-packed name-branded beef, pork, and poultry. Bakery is standard Safeway fare. On the pro-side, they are actively engaged in the community and Rodger (mentioned by name in several of these reviews) is helpful and really does try to flex to meet the needs of the customer base.

With the population growth of the area and being the only large grocery store and the change of store management at corporate level now that Albertsons bought out Safeway it is ALWAYS busy....long lines and not enough stocked sometimes. Thank goodness the staff is friendly and patient. The Starbucks - although a licensed store - is the one gleaming aspect as they make a good drink and the baristas are able to take time to chat as they work efficiently due to configuration of small area. Of course, the one downfall, as with moist licensed stores, there is only one barista at a time so the line can be bad and not worth waiting in with a drive through across the street.

Open extended hours (for Duvall). Regular grocery fare with the reasonably good selection youd expect from a large grocery chain. But a lack of specialty items, unwillingness to special order and frequent and inexplicable removal of staple items makes it a roll of the dice each visit. But the worst is the soul-sucking slow and long check-out lines. For ready-made food or fresh produce, kick it up a notch and drive a little further to the QFC on Redmond Ridge where youll get through the check-out line before the seasons change.

Safeway has made some awful changes. Poor staffing, customer service. The meat prices have gone up, while quality has gone done (check beef grades). There are no self-check stands anymore. Terrible to their own community members. Very disappointing. Deena told my fiance that after waiting for 45 minutes with kids for service that she couldnt help her complete a simple task. When I called to ask what happened she ranted on about all the things she had to deal with. Very terrible. Were going elsewhere from now on.

I came in about 10, 10:30 at night, recovering from a debilitating illness (no, not contagious) and feeling pretty darn miserable. Kerri was my cashier and started yakking it up with me, and made my bleak feeling night suddenly very enjoyable. Thank you Kerri. You went the extra mile when you didnt have to. I know i look dreadful, but you smiled and cheerily laughed it up without a word about my appearance. I appreciate you :) This smile is on my face because of you.

We often find our food and products are expired after we get home. Weve found expired: - juice - yogurt - cheese - chips - spaghetti sauce - moldy fruit (frequently) - medicine on shelf - animal related products Theres got to be a way for them to track these dates and audit their shelves. We prefer to go to QFC on Redmond Ridge but the only reason we go to Safeway is for convenience and friendly service (for the most part).

Staff is what youd expect for the normal union Safeway employees. Few are friendly, helpful and the rest are rude, dont want to be there and it shows. When they have self check out available I try to use them. They know they cant get in trouble for attitudes and it starts from the top.

Sadly, this has gone downhill lately. Most older employees are gone or transferred, the place is invariably being stocked so that the aile is blocked and it is pricier than some of the surrounding stores. New management? I dont know. We used to love shopping here.

Always busy, not enough cash registers open anytime I have gone. They removed the self checkout and it has gotten even slower. The fresh produce isnt the best, definitely worth driving an extra 10 minutes to QFC in Redmond Ridge.

Only go here if I have to and there arent many options around. Not enough cashiers readily available, self-service lanes gone, video section gone, long lines, etc. Used to be better. Found this is typical for Safeways in area.

Ever since they removed the self checkout its been the worst Safeway ever, Ive just spent my entire lunch break standing in line, had time to write this and my soup has gone cold. Please bring back the self checkout!

Long lines, often out of items. The pharmacy is very slow and sends refill updates stating ready however when I arrive and wait in long line only to find out not ready and it will be 40 minutes for them to fill.

This is a pretty nice Safeway and they do have a pretty good selection overall. They have a newer set up and layout which helps with things being less dated for sure.

Everything you need, great customer service and awsome staff. Its just since they removed self checkers it can be a little lengthy to get out due to long lines.

The employees are always there to assist you with whatever needs you may have. They always have a smile on their faces and everything is kept clean and tidy!

Continuous long lines, price increases for less product, slow card reader at checkout...just not friendly atmosphere like once was or should be.

Hideously disorganized and ridulously expensive for Safeway. And to round out the experience, the service is generally tepid and poor.

Duvall Safeway is a great grocery store. I have yet to come across an employee that was anything less than helpful, courteous and kind.

The checkers could have been more personable and the Starbucks coffee was gross. But again, there entirety of the safeway image held.

Great organization, making it easy to find items. Lines move quickly, and they are very inclusive in their hiring.
