I spent almost $100 on fish and supplies from this Petco in Covington. The blue lobster that I bought died around 3 weeks later. I brought in the dead lobster since Petco guarantees fish for 30 days. They asked me how long ago I bought the lobster and I told them 2 or 3 wks. I did not have a receipt but they looked up the purchase on my pals account. After around 15 minutes of trying to get skew numbers, the customer service rep comes back and says that they have no record of selling a blue lobster within the last 30 days and I cannot return it. I looked puzzled because I knew for a fact that it was not over 30 days. I continued to let her know that I bought the aquarium after maple valley days where my son won a goldfish. So it couldnt possibly be over 30 days. It got very awkward and I felt like everyone was looking at me as a liar. She said she has to go by what the computer says. I left the store and immediately searched my car for the receipt. (Keep in mind that I have now wasted 30 minutes of my life for a $6.99 lobster!) Lo and behold I found the receipt in my car with it dated 3 weeks ago! Apparently, their computers are not very reliable!LOL I went back in and wanted my money back instead of store credit knowing that I would never step foot in a Petco again. Finally, I got my refund of $6.99 and Petco lost a customer for life.

We tried to have our two long-haired Ragdoll cats groomed there. New to the area, we assumed the chain would be a decent bet. The "cat groomer" was rude, not very bright, and angry before she even touvhed our cats. She called four hours later to tell us that one cat was done and that she wouldnt finish the other because he was "dangerous". He is the most mellow cat in the world (all other places/professionals have said so), and when we got there he was hissing and spitting and obviously traumatized. Worst part was that BOTH cats looked terrible, like she had just spot-shaved them, and missed actually using scissors on the paws and head. BOTH need a professional to fix them. Last, they charged us full-price for this "service". If anyone has a recommendation for someone actually trained to trim cats and actually can work with cats, please forward it to us!

I would give no stars if possible. They know absolutely NOTHING about reptiles. I just bought a baby bearded dragon from here a week ago. Im a brand new reptile owner, so I asked for their recommendations. The lights they gave me were co plete garbage. His heat lamp burnt out after two days. His UVB lamp is the wrong kind that he needs. They said we should feed him mealworms. Which is NOT okay for bearded dragons until they are at least a year old. I needed to buy extra small crickets for him to eat, and all of the extra small cases of crickets were labelled wrong, so I ended up with hundreds of crickets he cant eat. Everything was overpriced, and garbage quality. I will be returning every item I purchased there, aside from the dragon himself. Thank god they have 60 day returns. I will NEVER shop at Covington, or any other Petco again.

Ive taken our two little dogs (Pom-Bichon & Yorkie-Maltese) a few times and have always been pleased with the outcome. The staff is courteous and helpful with grooming suggestions. Our Yorkie mix isnt very thrilled about going to the groomers, but he even let them cut his toenails without the usual screaming! The haircuts are always exactly what we ask for and the price is very reasonable. Very pleased!

Everyone likes to complain. Truth is, Ive brought my dogs in for grooming and each time, whether they are filthy (from backyard rubbish) or because they simply needed a trim, they always charge 49 bux. they listen, are friendly, and they always call. You can even bring your dog in early if the appt gets in the way of work. Duno what these folks are having a hard time with...

Staff was very helpful. We were in and out of the store in 10 minutes with exactly the two items we came into purchase. We were greeted quickly, asked what we were looking for, and then taken to the appropriate aisles. We could not have asked for better service.

Open vet available for microchipping pets (currently on special for only $15!) and only had two vet customers ahead of us. In and out within 45 minutes with newly chipped kitty!
