We have been shopping here for 4 years. We have always had very friendly staff interactions. It is a bit pricey, but convenient. I have 2 gripes. The first is sanitation. The deli employees come from the back wearing gloves. They proceed to pick your food with these same gloves. Then they pick up the marker on the counter with the same gloves and mark your bag. Then the deli employee continues to help the next customer with the same gloves that had just come from the back and touched the germy marker. We have no idea how clean those gloves are when they come from the back already wearing them. The marker on the counter is touched by so many people. The second gripe is jo-jos. When we order jo-jos, the deli person puts in one regular sized one and the rest are the size of fast food french fries. Something that small should be thrown in for free or have 2 small ones equal 1. Potatoes are so cheap. Why make customers feel cheated by paying so much for a .004 cent potato sliver?

Local store made for the locals. A bit spendy, but thats the price of convenience. No indoor bathroom, just porta-johns outside. Their fresh fried chicken is some of the best for 100 miles around. WIC and EBT accepted, as well as credit, debit, cash and check. Propane tank exchange and filling (filling only done during daylight hours). DvdXPRESS on-site, as well as ATM. Fishing and hunting licences sold here. Lottery scratcher machine as well as normal lottery tickets. Lottery redemption available. Large walk-in beer cooler, and fantastic selection, some of which does rotate with season. Large amount of liquor, both in selection and bottle size. Small produce section, with mostly locally sourced produce. Small but impressive grocery selection, with some seasonal displays (Xmas, Valentines, ect). Fresh meat, milk, eggs. Basic pet supplies, including food, litter, toys, bowls. Fresh pizzas made on-site, unbaked for cooking at home.

Evidently the business has a new owner. Every year we do a campout in Cougar, WA. Part of the fun is the discussion about going to Amboy Market for their delicious, crisp, moist and tasty chicken. No more. The chicken is lacking on flavor and as dry as yesterdays morsels. Disappointing to say the least some one would change the original recipe for something that is not as good. We wont return for the chicken for sure. The Market is nice and somewhat over priced. Over all a big disappointment.

Better than any chain store by far! They have the most AMAZING selection of foods anywhere. Prices are better than you would expect.
