This would be a marvelous store to shop at, even in a major hub like Brooklyn NY or Washington DC. The fact that it is here in Winchester, VA is practically a miracle, but one I am truly thankful for. Their fresh fish are amazing (look for a clear eye and an ocean scent!) Their vegetable selection of global greens is wonderful -- I love the baby bok choy, and I discovered I am NO fan of bitter melon. :-) I am so pleased by the wide variety of frozen foods, AND bottled sauces/marinades/dressings/spices from around the world. The variety of pita bread also pleases, the sour cream selection is amazing, and I also use the plain yogurt drinks for marinading. This is a great place to shop, explore, discover, and learn. AND to purchase the ingredients for wonderful food. I love it! I rank it right up there with Wegmans and Fairway in its global food stock in the U.S. Prices seem equivalent to anyplace else. Its a fun place! I wish they had olive oil tastings like Fairway does, but just saying that shows how much Foodmaxx pleases me as a shopper and cook with their global ingredients!

Im there all the time. I get all my veggies and fruits from Here as well as my chicken and pork. I dont get the red meat though. It doesnt seem like its beef and tastes a bit off. Anyways great fish selection too! All my japanese and oriental sauces are purchased here. Grabbing and munching on green tea pocky and calipio is nice whilenim shopping. Lots of unique items. Green tea ice cream, odds and ends of animal parts, quail eggs, mochi, etc. Dont buy your american items here. 7.99 for a jar of mayo is a bit much.

Worst experience ever in a food store....none of their cash counter was working and nobody had an idea regarding what to do. Wasted about 1.5-2 hours waiting The least that they can do is to inform customer that they dont know how to fix things so please leave or come back tomorrow....but on the other hand it felt like employees were enjoying the breakdown and were not serious enough to get things back on track. Although they do have good product range at this store.

I LOVE this place!!! The prices are extremely reasonable, the products are great. The only problem is sometimes the place does smell like a fishing dock, but they have a fresh fish counter so what can you expect. The fish counter is one of my favorite places, and always has a nice selection which they will clean for you in many ways (head-off only, full filet. etc). If you are looking for hard to find international products this is the place to go.

Stunning seafood, butcher who cuts to suit, and both with jaw dropping prices. There is a large selection of exotic fruits and vegetables to delight the culinary explorer. Their selection of rice and grain mixes rivals delicacy stores, yet this is just a humble grocer which carries products from around the world.

Great produce selection. Packaged well for small households. Reasonable prices on most items. Lots of selection especially for spices, candies, rice, and beans. Love the fresh bread and pastry section. Also a small well-curated section of must have items like lunch containers, tortilla presses, and tea kettles.

Better when they first opened, prices have consistently gone up. most stuff is overpriced, I hate that my favorite brands of refried beans are almost 2 dollars a can when they used to be 99¢. I shop here for ethnic ingredients, walmart or martins doesnt have half the selection Foodmaxx does.

Was not terribly impressed on my first visit a year ago, but was there last week, and they have dramatically improved. Only place to get much (Asian and Hispanic) ethnic food within 50 or so miles. Produce selection and prices are out of this world!

I guess most people know that this is the one stop shop for ethnic foods. They are,in my opinion,the best stop for fresh produce in town as well. Excellent quality usually at a better price than Martins and Wal-Mart.

I love this international grocery store so much it really brings in more culture to the area and they sell a lot of things that you wont find at the other grocery stores like Martins, Food Lion, and Walmart.

Decent offering of ethnic foods, just wish the selection was a little more diverse like the grocers you find closer to DC-Baltimore. Good selection of meat and produce. Excellent selection of tortillas!

Best (maybe only) place in town to get international grocery items. Best prices and generally best quality on produce. Has a fish market with a great deal of variety.

It is a really good and big space to get all the Indian kind of spices and food items, also frozen Indian items like frozen Chapatis and stuff like that.
