I love this shop and its very talented group of artists. I have had the pleasure of getting work done by Matt Williams and Mike Cann. I have enjoyed my time with them every time I go in. I have gotten many of my tattoos done here and love them all. They were well thought out in design and the colors are vibrant and bold. I absolutely love the quality of work they do. They are very sterile, neat and clean as well. And it also helps that their pricing is very affordable. I love that you can bounce ideas off of the artists and they are fully capable of delivering excellent work. Everyone is very friendly, laid back, social and comforting. I have friends who also go to Folk City, and have never heard a negative comment. I highly recommend this shop to anyone and everyone.

In comparison to the other tattoo shops that Ive been to around hampton roads, this is my favorite and this is the shop I suggest the most. My reason being is because they were one of the best quality, more detailed pieces I have and it turned out to be the cheapest in price. I have an eye on my right arm (realism) that I got from Blue Horseshoe and compared to the skull I got from Folk City, they are the same in size and detail difficulty, yet Folk City was 100 dollars cheaper. Also, I was recently at Ghost Ship and the tattoo I got there was simple, about the same size and still 50 dollars more expensive. But dont get me wrong, every shop I have been to was full of nice people that do great work.

So when you tell a potential customer, who said they could come immediately, to wait 30 minutes before showing up...thats an appointment. So to my surprise, when I showed up, I was told some walk-ins had come in, and I could go after them, maybe an hour or so. I can understand having to wait if a previous session goes longer than expected. But dont give me a time to show up, and then expect me to wait for people who just showed up. I cant speak to this shops quality, but Ive heard and read great things. But poor business practices are poor business practices.

Davy Sheets is awesome! Will definitely be going back to him! Far exceeded my expectations! He made an idea into a stunning reality. My father passed away from lung cancer a couple weeks ago and this tattoo was to honor him...i couldnt have asked for what he did, he took his interpretation of my idea and made it even better. Thank you so so much, Davy! Everyone there is very friendly, the shop is clean and smells wonderful, will definitely refer friends and family here!

Davey Sheets did a custom piece for my daughters first tattoo. He checked multiple times to ensure the drawing, placement, and color choice was what my daughter wanted. the shop is clean, the staff is friendly, and there was no sense of pressure in any way. This is one of the better shops in the U.S..

Many thanks to Davey Sheets for an excellent job repairing/finishing a tattoo started by another artist at another shop. The tattoo started out as a disaster and Davey did a great job fixing someone elses mess. Ill be going back to Davey at Folk City to have him do my next tattoo from start to finish.

By far the best tattoo shop! Matt Williams was very nice and very detailed in answering all of my questions. Mike Cann is awesome too. Would recommend them both. I have other tattoos that were not done at Folk City, but being tattooed at Folk City was awesome! Very clean and professional.

From start to finish, best ink experience Ive ever had. Matt Williams is a fantastic artist who listened to what I wanted and delivered above and beyond expectations. My tattoo healed in a week and looks gorgeous.The shop is clean, comfortable and welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Hands down the best tattoo shop in Hampton Roads.. These guys can freestyle draw tattoos or even go off of a picture that you may have on hand I will be using them for the rest of my tattoo needs this cover-up tattoo was amazing thanks, Logan

They kept my 100.00 cash, and didnt even try to work with me. i had a true family emergency happen, and the owner seemed almost happy that he was getting 100.00 for no work. VERY rude and cold. Just AWFUL
