Got pierced here by Emily, who no longer works there. She used bars that were too short, too large a gauge, straight instead of bent, she put the left one in crooked, and stripped the threads on it. I had to go to another shop to get them removed (ever have a ball thats embedded under into your nipple with stripped threads removed? fun) and get proper jewelry. And big thanks to DeVille Ink at 5920 Eastern Ave...Josh got it all straightened out, except for the crooked hole, and only charged me for the new jewelry. I do see Emilys listed as a tattoo artist on another shops page, so maybe piercing isnt her full time gig? Anyway, if her work was bad, how much does it reflect on the shop? I dont know. I called the shop and let them know what was going on, though. They referred me to another shop since they no longer had a piercer. Did they offer to even look at it? Maybe a discount on future service? A (partial?) refund on her poor work? No. I dont know whats standard, but I would think theyd take more interest in the work that was performed under their name. Either way...for future piercings, Im going back to Josh at Deville.

Nice work, but I had a very specific idea for a tattoo-basically I showed him a picture I wanted him to trace over. First off, Alex wanted to do his own thing completely "Ill just sketch something up." And it wasnt until I insisted that I wanted this specific thing that he allowed me to print out the photo I had. Then he drew up his own, abstract version of what I wanted. I asked for more detail, he put a tiney bit in, etc. I just felt that he was more concerned about creating something himself than giving me what I wanted on my body permanently. Im going elsewhere to get it fixed up. Theres no shading with the color, its just filled with the same shade everywhere. Im disappointed to say the least. The last two times, I went there they were excellent.

I called around, i read reviews on different places that do tattoos, i shaw this tattoo store on the corner just passing through down town Baltimore, iam sooo happy i choosed this place omg its beautiful just beautiful, clean like omg you wouldnt think it look like a museum inside,the floors r to die for,the rest room is beautiful, the customer service is outstanding, i promise you go here for service you wont go anywhere else,the price was right,i had a budget an they worked with my budget an my tattoo once she finished was just beautiful....i will be going back...

My friend and I both got our first tattoos here yesterday. Everyone was super welcoming and the atmosphere was relaxed and fun. Charlie did my tattoo and really took his time and made me feel comfortable. Hes a wonderful artist and his personality matches his work. My friend got a pretty large piece on her rib cage that took Alex over three hours, but his concentration and skill level were amazing. We are both overjoyed and will definitely go back to Read Street for more work. They were professional, talented, and great people in general.

just went in there today for my first tattoo, and it was fantastic. i had tomek do mine, and he made sure i was really comfortable and was really focused throughout the whole process. i was so nervous going in, but they let me name my own price and agreed to it, and gave me lots of tips and pointers before i got it done. the tattoo looks great, it was reasonably priced, and the staff was wondeful. GO THERE. NAO!

I got my first tattoo from Read St and it was perfect the guy did my design to the T. However when I went back the second time I had a different guy, Ryan Arnold, do my second tattoo. It was crocked, the lines didnt meet up and it was WAY over priced for a simple design. Then he wrapped it up before I could even see it thinking it was okay. Im planning on getting it removed.

Nipple piercings were accurately aligned, sterile utensils, and clean, modern, up-to-date surgical equipment at clean and sanitized environment. Great prices, ample care/aftercare jewelry and tools, and convenient jewelry change available. Recommendable!!! Emily is fast and great!!! Slight pain, but fast relief after piercing!!!

this studio is amazing, everyone was very friendly and super easy to talk to. i got a tattoo for a very reasonable price and because the experience was so good i am defiantly coming back for my next tats and i am very sure that i will only go 2 read street tattoo parlor exclusively from now on

Walked in with no appointment for my first tattoo. I only had a 20 minute wait, and finalized my tattoo (a text tattoo) with J Ranno, who was efficient, relaxed, and obviously very experienced. I was put at ease and my tattoo is healing nicely. The shop is very clean, which is a big plus.

Absolutely the worst first tattoo experience I could imagine. The artist, a young guy messed up my design, colored outside the lines and did an overall horrible job. Now I need to get my leg fixed and I wouldnt go back to him if he had the only tat gun in the world. Barf.

Best tattoo shop in the city! They did my last 3 tattoos and they turned out great. Theyre reasonable and theyll do their best to tattoo the exact design you want unlike other tattoo shops that try to convince you to get something that you really dont want.

Alex is on his 8th(ish) hour of my back tattoo and it is ridiculous! I love everything about it!!! He is very professional and very talented. Best decision I have made in a long time. One more session and I am done! Check out his work - he is amazing!

Got my first tattoo here today. Clean place, and the artist was very willing to accomodate me changing my design a handful of times. My artist was careful, quick, and confident. Overall I couldnt have asked for anything more.

The guy with the stripper name of Hunger Spanks needs to retire. Ive seen the same shaky hands on plenty of coke fiends but at least they arent grossly overpricing their shaky, amateur craftsmanship...and what an attitude.

I came in with my own drawing and the artist replicated a relatively difficult piece really well with great texture. The shop is amazing and the price was right. Ill be going back for sure.
