I went into the store last night to pick up a Western Union at around 7:30pm. I went to the kiosk and entered my information and it said to proceed to the register to pick up my cash. As I was finalizing my information on the keypad at the register, the register went down and had to be rebooted. I understand these things happen and didnt mind waiting at all. The cashier was by herself and was very busy, so she had to go back to the front register and help customers. She called the Shift Leader on duty to come help us. I cant remember his name, I think it was Kenny. He had to be the most unprofessional , non customer focused staff member I have ever met. He told us the computer needed to reboot and walked off. As we patiently waited for someone to come back and help us (32 minutes later), the cashier finally came back over, although she was very busy and logged back in the computer. She finished all of the verification with us, but had to wait on the shift leader to return to get the money for us. We could see in the mirrors at the back of the store and noticed the shift leader was back in one of the isles having a "fun" conversation with someone who appeared to be a friend. We waited another 20 minutes for him to come up to give us the money. He finally came, counted out the money and walked off. Not once did he apologize for our wait or anything. This is very poor customer service. He is the shift leader and should be setting the example for his employees. We should not have had to wait almost an hour for a service that should take 10 to 15 minutes at the most, but for him to not even try to provide good customer service was uncalled for. I noticed on his badge it said he had been there since 2009. I cant see how with those skills he has. For me and my family, we will never visit that Walgreens again. We are having our prescriptions moved and will drive across town to the CVS before we step foot back in that store. Kenny needs a lot of retraining and needs to learn that customer service should be his main focus especially when wearing a badge that says shift LEADER.
