I had the most ignorant, disrespectful, and unbelievable encounter at this beauty supply store. I am a graduate student here from Michigan and had a friend from out of town here with another friend as well. I usually go to a different beauty supply store but it was closed due to it being a Sunday. Me and my friends are naturals girls so we were in the store for a substantial amount of time smelling different products, reading ingredients, etc. Several times the Korean woman who I guess to be a owner stood in the isle with us just standing there following behind us. After she left a few minutes passed and a man I presume to be her husband came into the isle pointing his fingers in my friend (her first day in va) yelling in broken English that he didnt like us opening and smelling the products. It took a few moments for us to register what was going on because weve NEVER had such a experience before. After he finished yelling we put every product we had back (which were about 10 products between all of us) and proceeded to tell him that you do not speak to patrons of your establishment that way. He proceeded to head to the back where we couldnt see him, as we tried to tell him that his customer service was terrible, that his wife should have said something tactfully to us when she was following us around. The wife then proceeded to laugh and continue to ring up the customer that was at the register. Before I left this establishment (because by this time most of the other customers were around to see the commotion and ALL of them were black women) I informed the wife who was still snickering that its disgusting how these are supported and built in black communities but treat us like this. She then couldnt understand or speak English once I stated that... figures. Please dont support this business ! I will also be posting this terrible experience on every website that is affiliated with these disrespectful owners.

As I walked around browsing for products Suitable for my hair, management suddenly approached me belligerently yelling and pointing his finger towards me. Confused and in a daze I immediately put the products back on the shelf ; I refuse to support any business whom lack in communication and basic people skills. Finally coming to an understanding that management was only in an uproar because I decided to smell the products before purchasing. Although I have had my fare share with lousy customer service, in which we all have, never have I felt so misunderstood and disrespected. In conclusion, upon leaving I realized the way management approached the situation was far more casual then it should have been. This is not the first time and it wont be the last. If we the people continue to let Q beauty supply store , a long with a mass of foreign owned beauty supply stores in America, racially target and disrespect our poverty stricken communities, we become lost from the basic principles that uphold us as individuals in society. If I could give Zero Stars I would!! They dont deserve a star period! This has been a terrible experience with customer service! This ghetto hair supply store needs serious updates. I wasted 20 minutes of my time in this store because their Card Machine doesnt work. This is bad for the business owner, your business should be able to accept any kind of payment method. Do not go here if your an average individual who doesnt carry cash. Very unorganized and ghetto. The cashier was very pleasant but the owner was rude! How dare you accuse me of not having money? UPDATE YOUR 1999 CASH REGISTER

Always a pleasant experience when I come to this establishment. Helpful employees that are knowledgeable about hair care!!! And they give military personnel a discount!!!!
