After passing through KGVA for over a decade headed parts South, I finally stopped by Big Dogs and I found out it was a good shop contrary to the reviews that I read before walking in. Take in consideration this is still Northern VA and nothing is "cheap" before commenting on the prices on anything. I travel easy over 50 miles around DC and I found the prices on things you rarely see in other shops in the area, and short of the gun shows and online stores, I rate the prices to be better than any shop just a hop over the bridge in MD. The staff was clearly knowledgeable of whats in store as well as the market, and they have a a wide range supporting gear, quality ammo (hardly anyone in this area stocks match grade ammo) I even spotted stuff I could hardly find in stock online. I will be back for more deals rest assured.

I have nothing but good things to say about Big Dogs. Awesome staff and exceptional customer service both over the phone and in person which is something that is nearly impossible to find in this day and age. Worth mentioning that I may be a little biased because Im from MD and the few gun shops left in my area have higher prices, an inferior selection, and much worse attitudes. At this point Id rather make the two hour drive to get to big dogs than the 15 minute drive to my local gun shop. I found their prices, even on ammo, to be reasonable. I want to give a big thank you to Donny and his wife, it was their above and beyond helpful attitude that compelled me to write this review. Hope to see you all again soon.

I think shopping at Big Dogs is kind of hit or miss. if you go in on a busy weekend there are 5 just out of big school girls running the counter who have to ask someone what the capacity of a Glock 17 is... Seriously? just look at the magazine! Some of the guns are priced a little high but not terrible, ammo prices are still pretty steep though. Other times, I have had great experiences with the staff, especially when you go the middle of the work week and no one is really there haha. I will return to the store often, mainly because of the close proximity to my house but there are better and friendlier deals out there.

Walked in, looked around at a few of the savage 110 models they had, didnt see any in 300 win mag that I was looking for, finally an employee asked what I was looking for, I said a savage 110 or 111, he told me they didnt carry savage bolt guns. He then asked what caliber I was looking for, I said 300 win mag, he proceeded to hand me a Remington 700 in .308, saying it was a 300 win mag. I tried to be polite but then he told me a 300 win mag would be struggling to get to 1000 yards. Had to leave.

Nice selection of firearms, but the prices always put me off. Its probably just me, but if money is not a concern, you can certainly find anything youre looking for here. The gunsmith is a great guy, had a long conversation with us without being condescending or giving us the impression that if we werent going to buy we werent worth his time. Kudos to him!

Big Dog has top notch professional and technical staff that attend to whatever need you may have. Their pricing is competitive and actually leans toward better deals than most places. If they dont have something, theyll get it for you. Will definitely be a return customer.

After discussing the guns they had on the walls and the quality of some of the bullets the worker that was helping me chewed me out and told me that he did not want any of my business. They had some nice guns, but the staff was nasty to me, true to their "big dog" name.

Great place for whatever you need!! Some people are complaining on here. But, hands down if you need magazines, parts, guns, cleaning supplies, ammo or just miscellaneous merchandise. They got it! And the prices arent that bad!

Nice selection, but very high prices on guns, easily beaten anywhere online sometimes by hundreds. Good place to window shop, but check prices elsewhere before committing.
