I bought my Bike from them about 3 months ago. Although they beat every price on the internet for that model, for me, it still wasnt the cheapest bike, so I naturally had tons of questions before investing into it. One thing that annoyed me when making inquiries to mechanics from some bike shops was their condescending attitude when you didnt seem to be "in the know". What impressed me immediately was how patient these guys were with me either considering a bike or parts. Bernnard (lead mechanic) seemed to be pretty busy every time I saw him, but he always took the time to break away from what he was doing to not only show me parts or bikes. Through that process, he really took the time to sharing his knowledge and ensure I would make a more informed decision when it was time to purchase. Its not often youll see a mechanic break ranks and take care of customers on the floor. According to his bio, he worked as a mechanic for several pro teams. Aside from his apparent high level of competency and knowledge, youd never guess it. He is a definite asset to the shop and the customer. The bike fit came free with the purchase of my bike. The fit equipment is state of the art and the technician who performed the fit was very competent, and professional as well. At no point did I feel like it was a rush job where he was checking the box to say theyve provided the service. On the contrary, he seemed to take pride in giving me the best fit possible. All together, the process took close to an hour and a half. He found the best position that provided a perfect combination of comfort and performance position for me and has literally morphed my bike and I into a better performing machine. The fit in itself are totally worth it! Dave and Beth (the owners) are also great. Not only have they have formulated a killer business model that earns your business and keeps you coming back for more, they are always friendly. Whether its their beer, coffee, bikes, parts, maintenance crew, sales staff, or overall environment, its obvious that they pay great attention to every finite detail in order to making this a great business.

This past weekend we took our first ride as an entire family (just got a bike trailer for the two kiddos) -- and we stopped in to see about getting my wife sized for a new bike, and get all of us outfitted with helmets. The staff were very helpful with both (they even found a helmet that would fit my outlier-sized head comforably!) We finished our ride, but on the way back, my wifes aging bike blew a tube on the rear wheel -- fortunately, it happened just a block away from the bike shop! My heart sank, because it was just after closing time for the shop -- but my wife walked over anyways, just on the odd chance they might still be around. Not only were they around, they unlocked the door, and took care of the repair. This was a 1960s era Schwin Collegiate 3 speed -- with an odball tube/tire size -- and they had her fixed up and back on the trail within 40 minutes. There is no way you can ask, or reasonably expect that of any bike shop -- but they were there for our little family when we needed them. They went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of - I couldnt give them any less than 5 stars for the help they gave us that day. Thanks Green Lizard staff! Well definitely be back!

I worked at Green Lizard Cycling for the first year they where Open from March 2013 - February 2014. I can honestly say that working here was an amazing experience. It was my last year in College, and Dave and Beth completely worked with me around my school schedule. I learned so much working with Dave, and I can tell you that if you are a customer you will be taken care of. The wealth of knowledge is amazing at Green Lizard Cycling, and they are the BEST at taking care of not just their customers, but their employees. The mechanics on deck are top notch, and they know cycling like their back of their hands. You can always come on in for free water, and free air. You can get your bike cleaned, tuned up, or even buy a perfect new bike for yourself. The staff is very transparent with customers, and tells you exactly what you are looking at when you bring your bike in. They wont sell you stuff you dont need, and they will get your bike up and riding. I moved on from green lizard upon graduating from College, but I know ill always have a great relationship with them. I also plan to keep getting my bike needs taken care of from Green Lizard Cycling for as long as they keep letting me in the store

LADIES - THIS IS A SAFE ZONE!!! As a woman, I had often had bad experiences in bike shops. Ive been coming here since they opened, and that NEVER happens at Green Lizard. It doesnt matter whether youre brand new to bikes, have been pro racing for years, or just stopped by for coffee - they will treat you with the respect you deserve as a human being. Their bikes are fairly priced for the market and for them to be able to pay their bills. AND you will get every bit of what you pay for whether its bike servicing or a new ride. Green Lizard has the most incredibly knowledgeable (and patient) mechanics, and no turn-over, so the mechanics must be happy with how theyre being treated and the work theyre getting to do. And just added this past fall, in the back of the store they now have Velo Labs where you can get an indoor work-out when the weather is frightful. The owners are people of integrity and they hold all of their employees to the same standard. I cant say enough good things about Green Lizard Cycling & Coffee!

Came to this store to obtain advice on a set of wheels for a road bike. Initially was looking to purchase the wheels online and have Green Lizard install cassette and do adjustments on new wheelset. While I was, there I had a discussion with staff who suggested alternatives that they could build onsite based on my riding needs and style. I asked them to prepare a quote based on their recommendations. I received their quote and proceeded to have them build the wheels. I have been riding on these wheels for about a month now and very happy with the outcome. I would recommend this bike shop given the level of service and knowledge that the employees have regarding cycling. I am not a gearhead, so I am dependent on cycle shops who can assist people such as myself in advising the right equipment to purchase and not make costly mistakes. If you are in the Herndon, VA, area, stop by and look around.

What a great bike shop with great staff and very knowledgeable mechanics. Was riding on the W&OD trail and had a issue with not being able to shift gears with my front derailleur. (This is after I just took it into another bike shop in the area). Brad at GL diagnosed my problem correctly (completely frayed cable) and changed the cable and made adjustments to my bike in about 15 mins. I am going to shop here going forward and definitely found my new place for tunes ups. What a great locations and welcoming staff. Their hours are perfect for early morning riders. I highly recommend visiting this store. Rishi
