The female piercer at this establishment, while friendly, did a very unsatisfactory piercing of my belly button. Initially, it was fine, but after 2 months my belly button stopped healing. After seeing another piercer at a different shop, my family doctor and a dermatologist the consensus was that the piercing had been done wrong. It was pierced in the wrong part of my navel and the doctors questioned if the jewelry that the piercer put in was even stainless steel. I paid $65 for this, and had to take it out, and now I have a horrible scar. Do not get anything pierced at this shop. Also, I followed the after care instructions the piercer provided perfectly, and I have many other body piercings I had no trouble with.

Unprofessional and rude. I got a tattoo done here, and it was different than what I told him I wanted! AND I had to pay extra to meet with him just to talk about what I wanted so that the day of, he would know but I wasnt happy with it. I had to get it redone somewhere else. Then, I went down there a couple of times with my friends who got piercings with the lady that has worked there for years and I still cant understand how she has a business. Very rude, unprofessional and not clean. Just because she has been there for years, she thinks she knows what she is doing. I asked her something about my piercing that I got done in Spain and she didnt know the answer and was rude to me.

New to VA....and looking at portfolios all over the place I was surprised to find talent in Harrisonburg. Margaret, the resident artist at PL does very high quality work. Extremely smooth and even linework, and flawless shading. I dealt with Alex and her for several weeks finalizing a design. Throughout the whole process they were great to deal with. Alex is a total maniac and full of great stories! Suggestion is to contact them early and give it some time to work out your design as they are busy. Dont expect to just walk in and have a custom design done up in 15 minutes. I will definitely be having more work done here.

I have nothing but good things to say about The Painted Lady. In the last year Ive gotten my septum and my nipple pierced and both times were an amazing experience. The place was clean, the tools were clean, and the piercer who did my piercings (Sera) was extremely professional. She made sure that the rings she used were sized according to my specific body, she pierced them perfectly and easily and they healed without any issues at all. The prices are extremely reasonable and they gave me so much information and help on the care. I will DEFINATELY be getting all of my future piercings done here. I highly highly reccomend

If I could give this establishment less than one star I would. The staff is unprofessional and act like they are better than their paying customers. On top of that, the lady that pierces there has no idea what shes doing, even for being there 11 years. She pierced a belly button like a surface piercing, not anywhere near where it was supposed to be, and it had to be taken out. The jewelry is not anything special like they say, its just like any other piercing shop. I will not be taking any more if my business there and will advise everyone I know to stay far away from this place.

I had to wait about 20 minutes past my appointment time to get started, but I didnt mind because I knew that if it took longer to get my tattoo done, they wouldnt rush mine to get to the next customer. I dont mind waits like this because it means the person is doing quality work . . . which may take a bit longer. Ask yourself, do you want your appointment on time or are you OK with waiting 20 minutes for ink that is going to last a lifetime? It was a great and easy experience and I will be heading back there again when I figure out my next tattoo. Thanks!

I have to say, I was extremely satisfied with my experience at Painted Lady. I had my septum pierced there back in January and they were incredibly thorough. The piercer, Sera, truly does her best to eliminate discomfort and make the whole process run smoothly. She provided and care information I needed to know and answered all my questions. They are the best in Harrisonburg. I would definitely go back:)

I got my first tattoo here and the people were so nice and friendly. I compared it to a nearby tattoo parlor and realized Painted Lady Tattoos really care. I love it! Brought 2 of my friends to get tattoos and piercings and were both very happy with it. I will be back very soon to get another piercing! Very good place and just all around great people.

I had a fantastic experience getting a piercing done, Sera was phenomenal and absolutely hilarious! She was thorough in cleaning all her equipment and the piercing sites, and was extremely detailed with the aftercare instructions. Im definitely recommending PL to my friends, and am already planning to go back for more piercings.

Very unprofessional went to get a tattoo and everybody was to busy to even help us, they were all on the porch smoking and hanging out with friends, we had to go outside and try to talk over their friends to even get a price.We ended up going to Alley Cats which was way more professional.
