I THINK I OWE THIS TO THE PUBLIC AS A TESTIMENT FOR PRECAUTIONARY MEASURES. IN 2013 AFTER A BRIEF DEPLOYMENT TO THE MIDDLE EAST, I HAD COME BACK TO THE STATES EAGER TO PURCHASE A BMW S1000 RR. MY FIRST RED FLAG WITH ADVENTURE WAS ON THE VERY FIRST DAY I WANTED TO PURCHASE THE BIKE. I WAS IMMEDIATELY REFUSED SERVICE DUE TO THE FACT THAT THE STORE AND DEALER WERE "CLOSING DOWN FOR THE DAY". (MIND YOU IM IN CIVILIAN CLOTHES) GIVING THEM THAT BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT I COULD UNDERSTAND THE HASSLES OF A POTENTIAL CLIENT AND THE CHANCES THAT I WOULD ACTUALLY BY THE BIKE AT THAT HOUR. HOWEVER, THERE WAS NO EFFORT GIVEN TO HAVE MYSELFCOME BACK THE FOLLOWING DAY. THE NEXT DAY I COME TO ADVENTURE AROUND THE SAME TIME BUT UNIFORM. THE DEALER WAS ALL SMILES WILLING AND READY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS I HAD. AGAINST MY BETTER JUDGEMENT I WENT THRU THE LEGALITIES OF PUCHASING THE MOTORCYCLE I HAD MY HEART SET ON, EVEN DREAMED ABOUT. WHATS THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN FROM A BAD FIRST IMPRESSION, IM JUST HERE FOR MY BIKE I THOUGHT. THE FIRST PROBLEM I HAD WITH MY BIKE WAS WHEN THE THROTTLE REGULATOR WAS SUPPOSED TO BE TAKEN OFF AFTER MY FULL BREAK IN INSPECTION. THE MECHANIC HAD NOT PROPERLY COMPLETED THE ACTION AND I IMMEDIATELY HAD TO BRING IT BACK TO COMPLETE THAT ACTION. SIX MONTHS LATER, THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR ATE ITSELF AND FRIED MY TRACTION CONTROL, ABS, HIGH AND LOW BEAM LIGHTS. ONE MONTH LATER MY REAR FENDER AND MISC BOLTS UNSEATED THEMSELVES. NEXT TO GO WERE MY HAND WARMERS. FOLLWING THAT INCIDENT I WAS CHARGED A SERVICE FEE UP TO TWO THOUSAND DOLLARS FOR MY CHAIN AND SPROCKET TO BE REPLACED BECAUSE IT WAS " UNCORRECTABLE AND WORN". MIND YOU I HAVENT HAD THE BIKE A FULL SEVEN MONTHS YET. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD NOT LET ME HAVE MY BIKE BACK UNTIL THOSE ERRORS WERE FIXED DUE TO SAFETY REASONS. TWO DAYS LATER AFTER GETTING MY BIKE BACK, I HAD A MAJOR OIL SPILL. THEY HAD THE NEVER TO ASK ME IF I WAS WORKING OR TINKERING WITH THE BIKE MAINTENANCE. FINALLY ONE FRIDAY AFTER A HARD EIGHT HOURS OF WORK, I PREPARE TO HEAD HOME AND MY CLUTCH LEVER AND ASSEMBLE BROKE AND STRIPPED ITSELF UNDER THE PRESSURE OF MY PREIMPTIVE ACTION TO PUT THE BIKE IN FIRST GEAR. I HAD CALLED BMW CORPERATE TWICE IN CLAIIMS OF FAULTY EQUIPMENT AND GEAR. CORPERATE REFUSED TO ERRECT THE SITUATION OR COME TO AN AGREEMENT AS TO WERE I COULD GO FROM THERE. I EVEN INVOLVED THE JAG OFFICERS TO GET COURT REASONING. MY CASE WAS DIMISSED ON THE FACT THAT THE BIKE WAS REPLACED BACK TO "WARRANTY STATUS". SO I BASICALLY BOUGHT A TWENTY THOUSAND DOLLAR BUSTED BIKE THAT IM STUCK WITH. IF YOU HAVE READ TO THIS POINT, PLEASE BE FOREWARNED AND EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH ADVENTURE BMW AGAIN. THE MILITARY SHOULD HAVE THIS PLACED BLACK LISTED.

This is the best bike dealership Ive ever gone to. The owner works the floor, and helps on everything. The owner talked me through the specifications of two bikes, the K1300 and the k1600 GTL. He was upfront about the top end on the GTL being 150 or so, and the 1300 being the legislated max of about 310 kpm. Being both a ZX11 crotch rocket rider, I like the 1300s better performance, but also being a GL 1800 rider, I like cruisers, and appreciated the better envelope of the GTL. Being 58, but still an adrenaline junkie, I chose the K1600 GTL. It rocks at everything, and is in a class all by itself in terms of cruiser comfort, yet incredible performance, all the way throughout its envelope. Such good performance, that it will keep up with crotch rockets up to that top end, because it has 160-165 horsepower. The rain mode and other electronic suspension innovations, give you incredible control, and the bike is absolutely the best thing Ive ever ridden, and Ive had a few over forty or so years. It is the best bike on the road for those who want to retire out of the crotch rocket crouch, and who are looking for the same kind of performance, but a little more comfort and style. Great Bike, Great Owner, Good people to do business with, Adventure BMW is the best bike shop Ive ever done business with also. R. Mike Shircliff, a satisfied 1600 GTL Owner

There are many things that BMW motorcycles are known for. Speed, agility, style, technology are just a few to mention. My experience with the local dealership is they are not customer focused. Adventure BMW is the most unfriendly shop I have ever visted. Three to four people stand in the very small and unappointed store without speaking. Nolan, and Timothy will answer questions but will not initiate a hello if their life depended on it. I went back to Harley Davidson afer being in the market again. It wasnt because of technology that is for sure. It solely was due to the fact that I didnt want to buy from Adventure BMW and when you buy a Harley they treat you great when you walk in whether you are buying or not. I know I am not the only person who feels this way. Almost 100% of the people I speak to say they wouldnt buy there again. Do yourself a favor, buy a bike from any other dealership. I guarantee your experience after the sale will be tremendous compared to Adventure BMW. Rick, the owner, needs to focus on customer satifaction and train his people. Even my wife hates the store and she is the nicest person I know. I would have given one star but I dont like to say I hate anything. Even if it is Adventure BMW in Chesapeake I am speaking of.

The overall experience at Adventure BWM was nothing short of phenomenal! I have purchased several bikes in the past and the service that I experienced at this dealership was absolutely amazing! When I walked into the dealership, I was greeted by the staff with a smile (even though I was wearing a Harley-Davidson T-shirt) and was made to feel right at home. Tom McGehee, who was my salesman immediately put my nerves at ease because of his laid back no pressure attitude. After casually browsing their inventory, he was able to help me hone in on the motorcycle that met my needs. After selecting a bike, I was impressed with his honest and straightforward approach to selling. There were no pressure tactics, just honest, upfront and fair pricing. The sales experience was so smooth and painless that at one point I actually had to remind myself that I was buying a bike. I felt like he was more concerned with getting me into the right bike than the bottom line. This type of buying environment is not something that I have experienced before and was a breath of fresh air. Taking all things into account, I could not be happier with my experience at Adventure BMW. Simply put, Tom and the staff at Adventure BMW will have a customer for life! R/Josh

I went by there last weekend fully intending to buy a 2012 s1000rr. My first impression was that the staff was very rude and condescending. I have been riding sport bikes for 4+ years and the employees wouldnt allow me to so much as sit on the bike, replying "not anyone can just come in here and touch a 1000cc sport bike" ... give me a break. A local Ducati dealer had no issues with us trying out a much more expensive Ducati Panigale, this is what insurance and liability contracts are for. Dont waste your time coming here, you will be disappointed. I will be making the two hour drive to the next BMW dealer this weekend to pick up my new bike. This companys poor customer service just lost them a sale.
