"Clown Show" would best describe my experience. I came into the the shop on a Tuesday looking to have new tires and a 20k service done on a Harley CVO Road Glide and clearly explained that I needed the bike back to me on Friday afternoon. I was told no problem that the job could be done on Thursday. So I gave them a $500 deposit (that should have sent the first red flag up the pole). Along with the rear tire change I always take the extra step to change the rear brake pads and rear wheel bearing while the rear wheel is off. Second red flag, I get a call on Thursday stating the tire manufacture (Dunlop) no longer makes the tires for my bike, which was shocking being that Dunlop is the ONLY maker of the tire sets for this bike. During the phone call I was told Metzler now makes sets for this bike (not true), so having used Metzler in the past and they being a fine tire I said proceed. Now comes Friday at 4:00 pm. I get a call stating the bike wont be ready and everything could be complete by 1:00 pm Saturday. I once again explained that I need the bike for a planned prepaid motorcycle trip with friends and Im picking the bike up at 5pm. Then I get a call at 4:55 stating the bike is not ready and they needed a little more time. So I said that I need to be rolling down the road at the absolute latest 6:30 and was again told the bike would be ready. 6:30 rolls along..... I walk into the shop and see my bike on the lift without the front wheel and no tire on the wheel. I was told just a few more minutes in which my response was "bullshit" thats a half hours work. Only to find out the only other thing that was done on the bike was the rear tire and brake pads as they couldnt figure out how to remove the wheel bearing. The 20k service was never done either. Back to the front tire, yes Metzler doesnt make a front tire for this bike, so my old Dunlop was put back on giving me mixed brands front and rear. After receiving a $147 rebate for work not complete..... But wait my card was charged an additional $147 vs crediting my the funds. After 7:00 pm, I ride the bike down the road only to find the rear brake has limited function because it wasnt readjusted and the bike has tracking issues. Not sure if it is caused be mixed brand or improper balancing. To further deepen the pain, I was charged for a hotel room I wasnt able to use on Friday night because the lack of a rear brake to go along with the odd Metzler rear I now own, which will be changed by a qualified mechanic this coming week. Brooks Cycle, if you find a Metzler rear tire at your front door one morning it was from me. Hopefully the neighborhood kids dont throw it through the window. .

Where to begin? I brought my 1983 Suzuki GS750T to Jason for a full restoration. Brooks went through the entire bike. From the headlight to the muffler, he replaced it all. Friendly service and very reasonably priced. List of work follows below. What did Brooks repair? Replaced headlight and bucket, installed new old stock (NOS) gas tank, NOS seat, new petcock, NOS side covers, added Dyna coils, a full Vance and Hines exhaust system, new bars, new grips/levers, rear progressive springs/shocks, tachometer, mirrors and replaced a lot of other little parts. He also rebuilt and jetted my carburetors and had the bike running smoothly after it had been sitting for years in storage. The best part? He was able to do everything in a reasonable amount of time (given the parts I needed as well as the labor in addition to the number of other customer bikes that were already there). Most motorcycle shops I ride to in the area (when I am window shopping) cant believe how well my bike runs and looks. I owe this solely to Jason. I would not hesitate to spend the same amount of money with him again. He is the only shop I recommend to my friends. He is the only shop I have ever been to where I havent wondered if the needed repairs were questionable. I know bikes pretty well and was listening to him talk to another customer and explain what was wrong with their bike and it was refreshing. Most shops simply grunt out what the bike needs and give you an estimate. The next thing I plan to have him install are new progressive springs and seals on my vintage ride. He really knows 70s, 80s and 90s bikes (as well as newer models judging by the customer bikes I saw at the shop). The shop is clean and has a lounge area for customers. And there is a huge wall of Bikemaster parts you can buy off the shelf.

Price: Very close, but a little more expensive than a few other shops. Service: High quality work done in a timely manner Convenience: Free pickup and delivery during the winter months made it easy I called this shop looking to get my Harley running again. Jason informed me that during the winter they offer free pickup and delivery. The next day, he came out to pick up my bike. The shops trailer was very impressive. Enclosed, clean, and very well kept. After two days, Jason called with an estimate that was a little more than what was discussed over the phone. There were a few things that he found that should be done during the diagnostics. A week later, Jason called to let me know that the bike was done and wanted to arrange a drop-off time. He dropped off the bike the next day and provided me with a complete write-up of all the work. A few weeks later, I was riding my bike and decided to stop by his shop to check it out. This shop is amazing! The showroom is very clean, there are lots of Motorcycle goodies on the walls. I heard about their customer lounge, so I decided to check it out. Upstairs, they have a complete separate area just for customers, with a lounge, couches, big TV with Netflix and a Wii and free coffee. Probably the thing that impressed me the most is the manner in which they talk to their customers. Being a woman, Im used to shops talking down to me, but the crew there at Brooks Cycles always treated me with respect. I will be back, for sure!

I had these guys mount and balance tires for me. Jason scheduled me in quickly, and when I arrived, they set right to work. I liked that. However, all was not perfect. I wanted to be comfortable the job was done right, and that meant I wanted to see the work. That request was politely, though adamantly, refused; no watching; no exceptions. I can understand the businesss perspective; they dont need customers getting a free education or making the techs nervous. But hey, were mounting tires, not rebuilding an engine. And wouldnt you know it, the job was not done exactly right. They failed to line up the red dot on the tire with the valve stem; thats a small careless mistake. When pointed out, Jason explained it away as unimportant. Then he went on about the dot walking when the bead is pulled over the rim...of course it does, but you rotate it back in line before you set the bead; thats tire mounting 101. Its not a serious gaff, and it was not worth re-breaking the bead to correct, but it is not a correct installation either; just read the tire manufacturers installation instructions. I felt like the mistake and the push back hinted at a lack of attention to detail, thus minus one star for that and minus one for the inflexible no-watching policy. The charge for the work was fair, though slightly more than their advertised "preferred installer" Superstore price.
