My local whole foods! Ok, so...lets do an "honest review" here. 1st, stop peddling your crap to me at the front door. Thats SO annoying. I dont want your fresh OJ, I dont want your fresh guac. I dont want a majority of the things you push on people who walk through the front door. Quit it :p 2nd, you allow some crappy ingredients in your store. Stop that stuff. You try to boast that youre a Natural and Organic grocery place yet you allow all kind of food additives to your foods. Youre like a fancy pants wal-mart grocery section. 3rd, Your bar is the best haha. Never do i get such outgoing and friendly people as this whole foods bar. Its legit. Ive met so many neighbors! 4th, the hot bar...you need to stop cooking with low quality oils and making things with 99 ingredients. Im sure General Pso didnt expect his chicken to have 99 ingredients. Get with your program where you like to use WHOLE FOODS to cook with. Da Heck!? 5th, Your bacon products suck now. You took away all name brands and put your junk in there from cheap pigs. Lame. 6th, I like your chocolate selection. 7th, That blonde cashier is really cute. 8th, I really like your hippy-ish guy in the holistic isle. We talk from time to time. He rocks and his dreads are badass. Keep this guy forever. 9th, You get mad props for having a section thats pretty much Paleo only stuff (near the fish). I love that. 10th, It makes me sad that you dont have a single Coconut Milk without Guar Gum. If i wanted guar gum, id buy guar gum. Stock some better products if youre going to charge so much for them. OK, im over it. Its my go-to grocer when I need last minute stuff, but I shop at MOMs now.

I was waiting in line to get brunch today where I saw a mother and daughter being real victims on a crime of language abuse. There were several African American women, all over weight, very unhappy ghetto looking who started attacking the lady who was there to simply get breakfast with her daughter. The African American Lady working at wholefood’s was rude and nasty toward the lady with her daughter. She neglected her completely and was only paying attention or her own kinds!! After the lady complained about sanitary of the pots the 3 black women started name calling…I was there to witness it, it should be in the tape as well if wholefoods has any. The lady had to run away from these vulgar nasty women. It should be all in their videos if they have any>>!!>>>??? The manager of wholefoods who is also African siding with vulgar women!!! Go figure. No professionalism in this place!! It’s unbelievable how the manager Mr.Ebrahimi accused the lady who was there with her daughter of anything… employees here never helpful and can barely answer questions due to language barriers and overall lack of knowledge. Also it always seems to be very picked over (especially the seafood section). Whole foods on Duke street is beginning to look more and more like a hang out place for homeless and people from project.

I am not an avid Whole Food or organic food customer. I do however travel to Alexandria frequently and the Whole Foods on Duke is the closest store to my hotel. Typically I am willing to tolerate their extremely high prices because of good quality, selection, and service. Tonight however, I am not very happy with their service. I decided to go over and grab a quick six pack of beer at about 9:50. By the time I got to the door it was 9:56 and there was an associate there preventing customers from entering so close to closing time. Seeing the large number of patrons already in the store, I explained to the employee that I was just going to grab one item and immediately check out. All of a sudden he pretended to not be able to communicate with me in English and shut the door waiving his hands at me, as if I was trying to pass the plague along to him. It was ridiculous, and not the way to treat any customer, especially not one that frequents this store as much as I do. If hed allowed me in for 3 minutes I would have bought my over-priced, $10 six pack of beer and been out of his hair before 10pm. Ill stay in another hotel in the future, if I have to, but I am never shopping in this store again.

For being in a small corner, they packed a decent amount in. Overall, a nice store with a decent selection. A tad pricey, but thats to be expected with organic/health foods. The Good: -Decent selection -Popular brands (based on the nature of the store [e.g. Bobs Red Mill, Kashi, Essential, Moms Best, etc.) -Dedicated underground parking facility (good? bad? You decide) The Bad: -If youre looking for something normal but healthy, you might not find it here (I was looking for shredded, sweetened coconut flakes and the best there was was Bobs Red Mill finely shredded unsweetened flakes) -Everything is at least reasonably priced if not exorbitant (A box of 4 tea biscuits was $5, a pack of 6 dinner rolls in the bakery was like $6. You go to Giant or something and its $1.50-$2.00, a 2.5 lb ham shank was $25 or so). -A bit tight at places but no big deal Would I go again? Not on my budget. I would go back though for certain items like produce and meats (for the pesticide/hormone/antibiotic-free, cruelty-free stuff). I dont need pH balanced water or homeopathic pain killers. Lays Potato chips for me, thanks.

I normally enjoy shopping at the Wholefoods location where I used to live in Florida. Overpriced, but overall a nice selection of organic and specialty items. I am giving Whole Foods Alexandria one star because of the rude cashier at the express lane today. I said hello and she just glared at me with a hostile expression. After I paid for my items, she literally shoved the receipt in my hand and did not even look or speak to me. I asked her if it was too late to use a coupon I forgot to give her, and she practically yelled "ITS TOO LATE" with the same hostile expression. I then proceeded to speak to the manager at customer service, who was not much better and mumbled something about speaking to her. For as expensive as the place is, youd think they would be more aware of any rude cashiers and deal with them accordingly. But apparently the customer, at least in this case, was nothing more than an inconvenience to the nasty, rude young woman who served me.

Terrible Whole Foods. The help is anything BUT helpful, most employees barely speak English and seem to be so inexperienced and lack knowledge of even the most basic items. They always have to get a supervisor for the simplest question. There is also a marked lack of help at the cash registers and usually no one to bag groceries or help put them in your cart. Today I even had to ask the cashier to put them in my cart. She just stood there like I was supposed to do it. Some service. Ive heard the cashiers complain that the baggers are always in the back and refuse to work although the cashiers are not that helpful either. Also the help spends an exorbitant time socializing with each other to the point that you feel as though you are constantly interrupting every time you need help. On top of that the music is annoying. In general this store just has a really creepy low class unfriendly vibe to it. Really unpleasant shopping experience. Will not be back.
