Stopped off in Putney after a ski trip because it was close to the highway, and the general store was open even in a bad snowstorm. Heard one employee say that they mainly came in because they knew someones prescription needed to be filled - lovely people, really! We got sandwiches, burritos, a salad and coffee. They serve the food to you at a cafe counter or little tables. Everything we ordered was delicious and fresh. The store selection is great for a small grocery with a variety of local choices of yogurts, honey, syrup, craft brew and cider. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is homey. All in all a very pleasant stop.

A nice corner nook to Vermonts Country living. I found this hidden gem while traveling thru Putney, VT. I love the country feeling as well as the people working there. I had a deli sandwich and ate it there overlooking a brook waterfall. It takes you back to a time when things were simple.
