Been coming here whenever we can (we lived in Utah County, and now in Colorado) for years, back when it was on 4th and E street in the avenues. The owners are gracious, and profoundly expert in their craft-the chocolate is amazing, and the hot chocolate is so rich as to be difficult to consume on ones own. Its a favorite of mine to get some hot chocolate (which is, for all intents and purposes, exactly as if theyd melted a chocolate bar, added some cream, and called it a day-wonderful beyond all reason) and take it down to walk around temple square during Christmastime. By the time you get there, the drink has cooled enough to not be painful, but is still warm enough to comfort the soul. Go here. Enjoy it, and revel in joy that comes from promoting a local business with such a rich, amazing offering!

This place is amazing. The chocolate is superb. The hot chocolate reminds me of France. And the ice cream with a chocolate shell is just dreamy. We used to live around the corner from Hatchs when we were newly married and we would walk over for ice cream frequently. It has become one of those places that is full of memory and nostalgia and is one of our favorite places for celebrating special moments in our life and marriage. It is our Valentines tradition even now that we have moved away from Salt Lake City. It is worth the trip! A true Utah gem with kind people and the best, FRESH, delicious chocolates around. We LOVE Hatch Family Chocolates! Thank you for the memories!

Service was a mix. There were some friendly staff members who went out of their way to greet me; however the server I dealt with the was aloof and unhelpful. I wish they had warned me about their take on turtles. I imagine most customers assume its just going to be carmel, pecans and chocolate. HFCs on the other hand include a very sweet vanilla cream which I didnt not care for. Overall the chocolate was fine with the exception of the turtle (and thats more a matter of personal taste than quality). I may give this place a second try. Its a cute family business and the majority of the staff is warm.

I went to this place with high hopes received form the other reviews but I feel sorry to say I am really disappointed. Since when the concept of chocolate (a highly priced one) has turned to a big bulk of cheap candy surrounded by a thin crust of chocolate? Sorry, but this is not "chocolate" at all, its a cheap candy. I highly respect the local businesses and I have to say that the people working there were friendly and fairly helpful. But at least someone has to warn the next one looking for quality chocolate. not my choice.

We stopped by as part of a ghost tour (side note - the shop used to be a grocers and its believed that the basement is haunted, most likely by the original owner) and the current owners joined in the tour to share their stories. As the tour was wrapping up and getting ready to move on, we were given some fantastic dark chocolate suckers shaped like ghosts. We also found out that they were doing their monthly outdoor movie that night (Despicable Me 2) and had to come back. Next time were in SLC well be swinging by again.

Monday nights at this place are so fun. There is a professional magician that will come to your table, if you want him to - you raise a mini flag at your table if you would like magic. Someone is also there to make elaborate balloon animals for the kids. The ice cream is fabulous, and the management is personable. Its nice to have a place in town that makes you feel like you have stepped back into time when communities got together, and entertainers put a little magic in the kids lives.

Our first visit was great. Had some of their chocolates and their chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream. The ice cream was so good that we went out of our way to go back for it on the second visit and was disappointed that they didnt have any. Unfortunately the flavor I got instead wasnt as good. Will definitely go back again, but may call ahead to make sure they have the chocolate peanut butter cookie dough ice cream on hand.

I went in expecting the best chocolates I could find, me and my husband went in to get 4 different chocolates for a quick treat and total came out to be $8.00. We agreed that they tasted like average chocolates and a random chocolate box from the store wouldve been better and much cheaper. They werent even melt in your mouth like Lindt! My mouth was sore from chewing the chocolate caramel I got that wouldnt break apart.

Awesome chocolates, great vibe and cool location. We come here often. A must to check out! In my opinion puts Rocky Mountain chocolates to shame. They are family owned and have one store. We LOVE places like that and paying a little extra is worth it. The owner took time to just chat with us ( didnt realize he was the owner till later.) Will have to update him on how the movie Logan is.

Good chocolate but not for the price. I was amazed to see they charge $6 for a 10 oz hot chocolate. I got a caramel covered brownie ($4 for a 2.5 inch square. It was pretty good but the caramel was rock hard and difficult to eat. If you are not as frugal as me and dont mind paying $4--$8 for a small snack, this is a good place to check out. But I know I wont be coming back.

The best ice cream on the planet. We love it so much we asked them to make us a gluten free ice cream cake! This is not usually on the menu but they were so kind to go out of their way to make my sisters birthday special!! If you are too cold for ice cream( if there is such a thing) their hot cocoa is Devine! Fun family place with the most amazing chocolate too!

A overall great place to visit I am a huge fan of Chocolate. They also have a very impressive white hot chocolate. I enjoy there large selection of cheesecakes and dessert offerings. As far as the chocolates and candies I would recommend the white chocolate covered pretzels and the chocolate covered peanuts. They have a handful of sanwiches and salad selections

I have visited the place before and my god. The cashier, I believe he is named Brady? He works at the cashier. Let me tell you, he was so nice to me! I felt like I was at home! The chocolates are so delicious. I wish I could have gave him a 5 Dollar tip but I didnt have any money. Please give this man a raise or something. Such a nice young man :)

Hot chocolate is a MUST when you go here. We had a group so we were able to taste both the dark and milk versions. If you are a dark chocolate lover, be sure to get it because it definitely doesnt disappoint. But I would recommend getting the regular milk hot chocolate your first time if you are only going to get one. It is so smooth and silky!
