I was paired with CJ and while I was explaining my ideas, he wanted to charge me triple the amount for two scripts. Ive been tattooed numerous times and usually charged by the hour and mind you, these were not huge elaborate quotes either. So I decided to get one done and I explained that I wanted an outline of some buildings above it. "Nah, thats too much with your quote because youre already putting the city of angels. So its repetitive." I was shocked by this and that should have been my cue to leave but I decided I would go elsewhere and add in that section later. I explained my friend was killed by a drunk driver the night before, so I understand that my vulnerability was at a peak too with everything going on. So I took full accountability there for not speaking up. Once he completed the tattoo, he barely wiped away the excess ink and started wrapping it. Even if its not my first tattoo, I still appreciate follow up care instructions since Ive received great tips from other artists on the healing process. He mentions something about a scab already forming because the ink went on a stretch mark. But again, making it seem like it wasnt a big ordeal. I practically felt shoved out the shop by the time he was finished. And then he explained that he would charge me $50 less than quoted because I didnt move while he tattooed me. Keep in mind, it only took 10-15 minutes at most and was charged $100. I head home and immediately notice the wrapping isnt even covering half of the tattoo and even worse, I notice a giant blob of ink with some of my skin carved out! I immediately went back to the shop and asked him about the blob and he says, "Yeah thats the scab I told you about. Itll go away." Once again, Ive yet to ever receive a scab and would think he would have the courtesy to explain how to heal it properly. Keep in mind, its located on the letter "c" and with that scab, it appears to be a giant "o" instead. The remainder of the week, I watched it closely and kept up with the maintenance of the tattoo. However, Im starting to notice that the ink appears to already be somewhat fading on the whole tattoo, the "scab" is starting to peel indicating that he may have blown out that "c" and still appearing to be a deep cut in my skin, and lastly the "o" in "of" isnt even a circle. I called that weekend to ask when I could come in and speak with the owner and she just gave me the generic shop times and kept explaining that I needed to let it heal before I came in. I can already see that this tattoo will not be lasting, undefined lines and again, carving a chunk of my skin out due to heavy tattooing which will ultimately leave a scar. I decided I would wait one more week or two to see where the healing was at before I went in the shop. I have kept photos of the ever changing scab and today after my shower, it fell off and what do I see?? A giant hole in my arm and still some ink. I am currently giving the shop/CJ two stars and will be visiting the shop this week. Ill post an update once I do and see how my concern is handled. However, I will say that I do not recommend CJ for a "walk-in" client because its evident, he doesnt have time for you or your ideas. I already know that I will have to get this covered once its healed because this by far is the worst tattoo, treatment and experience I have ever had. I have also taken photos of the scab and the hole in my arm so that there is evidence of this tattoo gone wrong.

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I went in a few weeks ago to get a spider done. It was placed on slightly crooked (I approved the placement--my bad). But I went in to ask the artist--Michael Bergfalk--to extend one of the legs of the spider just a tad to make it match my other tattoo. Literally a single line that would extend 2-3 mm. Literally 15 seconds of work! He said it would be a new piece requiring $75!! I was told its new because I approved the original placement. Fine, that may be true. Cathedral tattoo can do their best to justify refusal of my touch up;however, Ive been to about 10 different tattoo artists, and I have NEVER had to pay for a touch up. In some cases Ive had 45 minutes worth of touch ups done for free (other than tipping them). But to be turned down for literally 15 seconds worth of work to fix a crooked placement?? Ive had quite a few tattoos done, Ive NEVER heard of such a thing!! Maybe its just a Utah thing because its my first tattoo work done here. If so, Utahs tattoo artists rules are as silly as Utahs alcohol rules. Time to shop around for a different tattoo shop for the rest of the work I was going to have Mike do. For advice from someone who has numerous tattoos--go somewhere else!!!!!!!!!!

I had Michael Bergfalk tattoo the remaider of my sleeve a few years ago. He ruined part of my full sleeve. He did not listen to what I wanted him to tattoo, as he bagan to tattoo the top of my arm, he just started blacking out the background of a $3,000 sleeve I just had done. I had to stop him because it looked so black. He continued tattooing and lightened up his strokes but he wasnt even tattooing what I asked. I had to stop him and I started to cry because he just basically was coloring black over my entire background of fractals flower of life. When I finally stopped him they refused to make it right or offer Any solutions. I said please dont let me walk out of here with my arm like this They did not wipe my arm or wrap me up, they let me walk out of there crying and ruined my arm. He didnt charge me hourly but he did keep my deposit. CJ has tattoed me before and I highly recommend CJ. But Micheal ruined my arm and I will never go back there! I never reference them to anyone and Im highly tattooed. There are way better shops! With artists who actually care what you want!

I normally do not take the time to write reviews. However, I do always find myself looking at them to influence my decision. I came to this shop as a walk in. I got two armbands, one slightly a centimeter thick and the other is just a line. For $400 dollars. I was so excited to get this tattoo that when they told me that it would be $400, it clearly went right over my head. Now I realize I totally got ripped off. Who charges $400 for armbands that only took an hour to tattoo. I mean, it looks amazing! But I got charged almost half a sleeve for three lines, with shading around my forearm. Ive never had buyers remorse like I do now. I feel like I was greatly taken advantage of. Worst feeling ever and quite disappointed.

This shop used to be awesome. Customer service was great. If you walked in theyd keep you updated on the wait. I went in recently just for a walk-in so I expected a decent wait time. They told me fifteen minutes. Asked me to send them an email of what I wanted, I guess the email didnt go through, ok fine wifi probably wasnt the greatest, but they didnt let me know it didnt go through till AN HOUR had passed. So I sent the image Avery simple design shouldve only taken 10 to 15 minutes to draw up and ended up waiting another hour. And customer service was awful to say the least and Ive been tattooed there several times so I assumed it would be a decent experience but I was utterly wrong.
