My first experience after finding they existed was a Wagyu New York two inches thick. Cooked sous vide to 121 degrees and seared in the carbon steel frypan. It was the best piece of meat Ive ever eaten -- and thats saying a lot. Since then, Ive had excellent pork chops, some great sausage, some not so great. The beef pie was bland. The beef bacon is amazing as a change of pace. Having a place to get Guanciale. Perfect. I havent tried some of their already marinated or brined meats preferring to do it myself, but they look good. You cant go here assuming they have some particular thing. Its a little trip of discovery to see what they have Im in the mood for. So far weve always come to a consensus together.

Amazing store, talented and friendly employees, very reasonable prices, with great ethical standards for their meats (local, humanely treated, fed properly). I went to Beltex to get some meats and treats for my dog who is on his way out. They gave him a great hook-up: 2 raw cow bones, a cup of dried livers, 1 lb of raw beef liver, pork hides, and 1/2 lb of ground pork--at a steal of all for about $20. My pup LOVES it all! Sadly, I can speak to the flavor, as Im a vegetarian and was buying for my dog, but if I ever DID try meat, it would be from Beltex, as it looks DELICIOUS! In the meantime, this is going to be my dogs hookup.

Friendly staff, incredibly fresh meats. I stopped in last week and liked the place - its clean, they have a good variety of chicken, pork, dry aged beef steaks, fridge full of all sorts of specialty meats (soppresata, prosciutto, etc). I was pleasantly surprised to find kielbasa (smoked polish sausage) - I grew up on the east coast eating lots of good polish kielbasa and have been out of luck finding any real kielbasa in SLC until now. The kielbasa here is delicious!

The guys who own this place are super knowledgeable, super helpful, friendly and excellent at what they do. Everything we have gotten here was delicious and they will help you with how to best cook the particular cut of meat if you ask. Great charcuterie options too. They do whole animal butchering of local meats so it is a very smart option. And, they have affordable prices to boot! Love this place.

Beltex Meats uses the entire animal when selling you meat. I cannot express how proud I am to be in a community that has a shop that honors the entire animal. Phillip and the clerk helping us out were kind and extremely helpful. They suggested a ham hock for our bean dish, and gave our little beagle a free dehydrated calf liver! If you want fresh, well treated meat, this store is where its at!

Great customer service, you can really tell they know what theyre talking about. It was the first time I ever had head cheese and it was delicious. The burgers we got were fantastic as well. Next time well try steaks and I am sure we will not be disappointed.

Best butcher in Salt Lake. Knowledgeable syrah always help you find a tasty option within your budget, it can cut anything custom for you. Discuss orders are easy and always delicious. Spendy, but well worth it for the quality of the products and great staff.

This place was great! Guy spent time explaining what meat he had and they even had prepared meats in marinade. Got some lamb from them and it is excellent especially following the directions that they gave to cook it.

I love thier meats and products....literally love thier meat.....but as far as an accessible neighborhood butcher....Im sorry.... $39 per lb is not accessible for a community. Just sayin!
