Dont go on a Saturday or theyll yell at you because you asked for an opinion... I was so excited to go here. I love to cook and was planning to make a really nice Gordon Ramsey recipe for my boyfriends birthday. The recipe called for short ribs and I researched places the last two weeks to buy the best cut of meat I could... I walk in and there were a few other people waiting. The gentleman at the counter said it would be a minute and I told him it was completely fine. He was super friendly and tried to make some light conversation. A lady then walks out and asks if anyone could be helped, so I asked her if she had any short ribs. She said they didnt have any.... And then this is where things got weird. I was trying to explain what I was trying to make, she interrupts me and starts yelling at me. I look at her and ask, "Do you have anything else I could use?" She continues to yell at me, interrupts me and I tell her, its okay, Im just going to leave. Shes STILL yelling at me as Im leaving and its the most embarrassing thing Ive ever experienced. Saying, "that no one is going to have what youre looking for." I look at her and yell back, since Ive already opened the door at this point, "I was only looking for an alternative!" And shes STILL trying to argue with me?! She replied, "NO, you did not!" Ive never been so confused, embarrassed and down right disappointed in a place. I will never return. I hope, they hire more people like the gentlemen who I first encountered. I should have asked to speak with another associate, but I didnt know what to do while someone was literally yelling at me, for asking what else I could use. Conversation went from 0 to 60 in a blink of an eye.

I have been in about 3-4 times now, but never seem to be able to get around to leaving a WELL EARNED glowing review for this business- but let me tell you- BOTH the Meats AND SERVICE IS AWESOME..SO I was TOTALLY SHOCKED to see the poor review from the "Jurassic lady?" below-(hidden meaning there?) lmfao!! NOT ONLY is this totally OUT of character ( for ANYONE employed there), that has EVER helped me, but I was actually in there that day- so I HAVE TO Call BS on this review!!! The lady had dark brown hair & wore glasses- she was sort of a short dumpy lady- (..she actually came in with an ATTITUDE if you asked ME)..the girl helping her is one of the best there!! NO WAY did she yell or mistreat that customer in ANY WAY!! SOON as I read that- I thought, WHAT???!! I was IN THERE!! I know exactly what happened- while "honest reviews", etc. are a GREAT IDEA- at the same time, its just a SHAME that a business can be overflowing with GLOWING, 5-star reviews- and then 1 psycho having a bad day can come in and throw a fit like a toddler because she did not get what she came for, STORES RUN OUT SOMETIMES- its LIFE!! But no reason to get MAD and leave a DISHONEST bad review- I believe their long standing in the community and TONS of other HONEST reviews from Normal customers speak volumes!! DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND SHOP HOBES!! YUM! The VERY Best Meats in ARIZONA!!

My daughter an I were scrambling on Christmas morning 2016 around 9am to purchase a gift for the most amazing neighbor ever. (Busy year) We were in the vicinity of Hobe meats and I said that would be a perfect gift for him. We looked over to find the store closed as it should be but a man in the parking lot getting out of the car. We approached and asked if the store is open? He said no but it is for you now. What can I help you with. The gentleman opened the shop for us and suggested a fabulous standing rib roast. I asked if he would suggest a rub. He did and then at the end said lets throw that in on the house. I cant tell you how much we appreciate this gentlemans kindness toward others on Christmas morning. Weve always loved the store and service but this display of kindness needs to be put out there for others to know about. Sir I didnt catch your name (felt like the owner perhaps?) but we thank you truly from the bottom of our hearts. You have customers for life!!!!

I went to Hobe because I wanted a flank steak that was larger than the usual pound and a half specimens found in the grocery store, and although I know how to do it myself, I wanted to save myself the work and have it butterflied by the butcher. One of the men behind the counter didn’t know the meaning of the term - I should have taken the hint then. But somebody in the back said that he would do it. Since it was given to me all wrapped up, I couldn’t see how the butcher had butchered that piece of beef. One third had been cut almost all the way through and was hanging by a tendon. The other two thirds hadn’t been cut at all. I was forced to do that part of the process, plus find a way to patch up the severed piece. This was an expensive pain-in-the-flank.

First of all; I have used Groupon 3 times at Hobe Meats and every time they have given me the best service and always thanked me for coming in. I dont know how they could have given someone old meat when you pick out your own meat??? The meats have always been sooo delicious and thats why we continue to purchase from them. Second of all; I purchased a 12 pound prime rib roast for my birthday and it was the most incredible roast I have ever eaten! When I want something special I go to Hobe Meat and that is where Santa will be shopping for our Christmas meal as well. They are the BEST!

Outstanding all the way around!! Traveled to Phoenix for the holidays and wanted to get a gift box. I sent an e-mail inquiry regarding their service, and received a response from Brent just a few hours later. They happily took my order over the phone, wrapped it, kept it frozen, and all I needed to do was pick it up and pay. When I went to pick it up, I just mentioned the gift. The gal behind the counter, knew my name and order off the top of her head, and I was out the door in under five minutes.

I want to give this place more stars. They have a great selection of meat and everyone Ive dealt with in the store was great. I pre-ordered a rack of lamb for Easter dinner and paid a pretty penny for it, but I was ok with a $100 piece of meat because I expected amazing quality. Cooked the meat and it was delicious but more than half of it turned out to be fat. You do expect some fat on a cut of rack of lamb but the amount on this cut was incredibly disappointing. Havent been back since.

I drove 45 minutes to potentially find a good butcher shop. Everything was fine until they found out I would be using a Groupon. Then, they were rude and when I got home and unwrapped; I found they had given me all the discolored meats. Too bad. I have been trying to find a new source for meats since the grocery store products are all sub-prime. I will not be returning. They signed up for the Groupon and obviously they should never do that again. I know I wont.
