I bought a sewing machine/surger for $160 on-line and paid via PayPal. It was defective. I went to the Bay Area store to exchange or return the item. Preferably exchange, but they didnt have sewing machines/serger in store. I was told because I paid using Pay Pal, I can only get a store credit for the $160 and I can then order on line. I immediately ordered on the internet; however, their site would not take the store credit. I called the store and was told to call customer service. Which I did. After 15 minutes of being on hold, and mind you I was customer no 1, I was told I cannot use the store credit on line. I called the store and spoke w the manager, Kathy, and was told they couldnt do anything and that I pretty much was stuck w my store credit. T There is absolutely nothing I want to purchase from that store that is worth $160 aside from the sewing machine/surger. Needless to say, Im pretty pissed. Im having to wait for the store manager who wont be in till Monday to see what needs to be done to get my $ back. So, lesson learned - do not use Pay Pal and definitely avoid Jo-Anns customer service.

This store is one of the few stores that has almost any fabric you can imagine. Unfortunately this particular Jo-Ann makes me not ever want to step foot inside another Jo-Ann if I can help it. The employees at this store always appear to be un-informed about how to do their jobs. Anytime you attempt to use one of their coupons that come out in the circular, the employee at the register doesnt understand how to use it and end up having to find a manager. In addition on almost every occasion I have been in this store, the items ring up different at the register than what they are marked on the shelf so you have to be careful and watch for this. Overall if there was another store that had as much fabric as Jo-Ann I would avoid this place and go there.

I agree with the other reviewer that you have to watch the price. Apparently fabrics that end in 00 are nonreturnable even though you didnt get the bolt from the redtag section. Also why not just call it clearance?! Your policy doesnt say anything about redtags... The people here have attitudes instead of being helpful big lady manager was like john you handle this...I dont want to talk to customers right now. Wtf?! I confronted her about it later coz I thought her big ass was gong to lunch or something but she was still sitting at counter...? she was like I dont want to talk to people that are cuhhhhssssing me out. Im sorry was not cursing you out. If I was, you and everyone in the store would know. Power trip much! Ughhh

The two stars are for the wonderful selection. Ive always found pretty much everything I need there. And its clean and organized. No additional stars for employees. There is one fabric cutter who is extremely nice and always helpful. I dont remember her name but she has an elbow brace and beautiful hair. Im always glad to see her. Everyone else is miserable. And dont ever try to call them on the phone. Theyll either hang up on you or tell you to look it up online because the girl thats working back there is really busy right now. *eyeroll* Answering the phone with how may i inspire you today doesnt automatically mean youre doing your job.

Awesomesauce. Theres more than a seriously wide variety of different colors and textures of fabrics and sewing essentials here. They also loads of other great crafty items for the serious crafter. They also hold classes here as well. I have not yet signed up for a class, but I hope to be able to soon. Id love a crash course on how to use the sewing machine I got this past Christmas. One of my favorite things here are the embroidery or cross stitch machines that Ive seen in action there, really cool to watch. Id recommend Jo-Anns for anything you need for sewing, if they dont have it, thatll know where to find it, for sure.

Im a fashion student and shopping at Jo-Ann saves me so much money and time than shopping at high fashion. I love this store and the fabric selection is always good. I had to give 1 star for the poor service I receive everytime I go in there. Everyone other than the cashiers are extremely rude and disgusting. The manager flat out refused to do a fabric order for me. I dont understand how they continue to work there. Ive been going there for 2 years now since its the closest and cheapest but everytime has been a horrible experience

Excellent service. Needed more bolts of fabric and thought Id have to drive everywhere in Houston area. They told me I could order straight from the warehouse. Knew exactly what to do to expedite the order very quickly. Was able to use coupons for order as well. Then regular check out was a cinch! One of the best Jo-Ann Fabric shops Ive visited when comparing to Ft. Worth, Austin, and now, Webster! Thank you!

Ive always had such positive experiences at Joann stores in general, and this one is no exception! The people here are always so sweet and helpful. Just today a woman took the time to explain how all the online coupons worked, helped me choose which ergonomic crochet hooks to get, AND explained the return policy just in case the hooks didnt work out! Frankly Id give more stars if I could!

I called to see if they had a type of fabric or if they could get it seeing how their a fabric shop and they said if they dont carry that they can order it which makes me wonder when they opened up how did they come about caring the items that they didnt have when they first opened if youre fabric shop you should be able to order new material that manufactures offer

Mixed feelings. Good selection, but higher than Id like on prices and every time they send out coupons... They put a large number of items on small sales, like 20%off so you cant use the 50%off coupons. Its still savings... But seems off. Also not a good place if you impatient. Always seems to be lines at cutting table and registers.

Busy store. No assistance around store. Fabric line can be long and apparently you have to grab a number that I did not know about. Several people were taken in front of me even after the lady had seen me standing in front of her. I put all fabric on counter and walked out! Rude ladies.

been there couple times. everytime i went, felt like they think Im stealing. Im a browser, so Ill pick up stuff then put it back. theres one lady worker that would walk by me. seriously, if i wanted to steal Id definitely not steal from a CRAFT store. havent been there in about a yr.

They have a great selection of everything, but the employees can be a tad rude and/or disinterested in their customers. And the line for checkout is always hideously long. Does this stop me from going here? Not if Im in that area. Otherwise I do prefer their location on League City.
