I regret bringing my vehicle here. On 7/14/2016 I brought my vehicle here for an AC diagnosis. My vehicle had a visible leak, but we didnt know exactly where it was coming from. So I let them check it out. The wait time was 2 hours. I paid $37 and some change for the diagnostic, but they said they couldnt find the problem and that they would need to take apart my entire dash to look at other components. He informed me that the total price would be $904!! I refused to pay that, kindly said thanks and took the keys to my vehicle. As soon as I got in the vehicle I noticed my AC was no longer blowing out of the vents, instead I had slight AC blowing on my feet. My AC wasnt working that great before, but at least I was able to get enough air to the point where the front of my car was cooled. All I had to do was keep adding Freon (refrigerant whatever its called). Now I get nothing!!. I sent an email to corporate seeing that I attempted to call the shop 3 times and they didnt answer. I received a call the next day explaining what happened, and we scheduled an appointment for me to come in so they can fix what they messed up. Mind you, I told someone else my problem and he knew immediately what the issue was. The tech didnt put my Blend door in correctly. So I come in for the appointment. Took another 2 hours, just for them to tell me I brought the car in that way!! WHAT!! I am in no way shape or form trying to steal from anyone. I knew what my problem was and I took it in for that specific reason. So I paid $37 for them to mess up my car even more. Oh and get this, they also raised the original quote from $904 to well over $1100. I would not recommend going to pepboys period unless you need something minor done. If you need something major done please dont go here because they will more than likely mess something else up and charge you more than whats required. Oh and did I mention I was told that the tech had explained everything to the district manager and so that must of meant he did everything right. You guys work together so of course you would stick together. Your technician messed up, and didnt want to own up to it!! I am so pissed because I am pregnant and its summer. I need AC, but with that outrageous price I guess I will just suck it up. I am better off doing it myself.

Visiting this location made me not want to do business with Pep Boys again. Im not sure who I spoke with but I believe he was the assistant manager and he was anything but helpful. I came in and explained to him what I felt like was a battery issue. I explained I purchased the battery from them a while back and about 2 weeks ago I started to notice charging problems in my truck. I had autozone check the battery and it tested good so I checked the charging system and thought the alternator was intermittently charging so I went ahead and replaced it along with the big 3 upgrade (upgraded battery, alternator and engine block grounds and positive charging cable). I still had the same problem. Before going to pep boys I researched and found that it is not uncommon for batteries (optima red top) to test good when they are bad. It seems it can hold up under a quick load (what the handheld tester does) but fails under continuous load. I asked if they could test the battery and he told me no. He said they were too busy and I needed to go to another store. I asked if the other store would even be able to check it and he said he didnt know. So then I asked if I go home and swap the battery and it fixes my issue could I bring the battery back for replacement since it is still under warranty and he told me no. He said there was no way I could prove the battery was bad since it tested good (keep in mind he refused to test it himself). He said I would need to work that out with his manager and do the research together. Nonsense. So I went home and swapped the battery for a little car battery out of my girlfriends civic and sure enough it fixed my problem. Instead of going back to deal with this idiot I went to another pep boys store in humble on northpark drive and spoke with the assistant manager and he helped me out. They ordered a new battery and didnt give my any trouble getting it replaced under warranty. Too bad that store is 30 minutes away from where I live. Based on that I dont think I will be buying anything from pep boys again if this is the way they help their customers and stand behind their product. Wouldnt even look at it smdh

Terrible service.. made an appointment online for 11pm Saturday, and car went into the bay at 11:10 and still took 50 minutes for an oil change. Walked in mentioned my appointment and asked for an oil change, handed my coupon for $10 off SYNTHETIC oil change, was told to hold onto the coupon until checkout because they would just lose it, and was told to wait as they performed the service. The bays are full but there is only one other girl waiting on her car in the waiting area and doesnt seem terribly busy and yet it still took quite a long time to get the simple service done. As i checked out the manager told me they used conventional oil and not synthetic and then chided me for not making sure to tell them I wanted synthetic. I told him I checked the box for synthetic on the appointment website and showed the coupon for the synthetic oil change when i walked in (and theres the sticker which should indicate what type of oil should be used, but even this time they did not check any box on it so... theres no point in having it I guess). He continued to lecture me that I need to inform them if I use synthetic oil not only at this location but at any place I get my oil changed...

Thus location had been the worst experience and I will not spend another dollar on Pep Boys. I have bought tie twice there for my truck on all 4 tires. I bought road hazard on all tires. When I had a nail in one and it couldnt be repaired it was almost 80 dollars for them to change it. Partially my fault for not getting details on insurance. I was just used to discount tire and NTB where you pay flat fee around 30 dollars. Before I took in for my tire I had a sensor go out and paid 75 dollars for them to replace it. I was told they couldnt program it because there machine was broken. I went almost a month with my light on for air pressure. When I took it in for the nail the young guy that tried to program it said it wasnt the sensor it was something with my truck to take to dealer. I was pretty upset and went and paid 230.00 fir my new tire out of principle. They looked at my sensor and replaced it for free. They said Pep Boys either installed the wrong sensor or a bad sensor. Taking it as a 75 dollar lesson dont use pep boys or at least the one in Spring on 45.
