I would advise no one to hand over their car keys to this store. Long story short - they put the wrong battery in my car. I was very fortunate as a single woman that the 2 times that the error from Pep Boys left me stranded that it was in a safe location. Below is a more detailed review of my experience with Pep Boys on Dairy Ashford. In June 2014 I came to the store because my battery was in need of being replaced, and everything was fine from June 2014 till mid-January 2015. In January I was leaving work for a doctor appointment and my car would not start; unsure of the problem but enough car knowledge to know it had something to do with the battery by the behavior of my car lights. I had a coworker come out to my car and give me a jump-start, he is fairly car savvy and was able to determine that the battery cables were loose. I brought the car over to Pep Boys since they were the ones that installed the battery and asked them to check it out; they checked it out and said the cables were loose and they tightened them up. At this point Ive missed my doctor appointment but I was still ill and needed to see my doctor, but had to come in as a walk-in/work-in patient instead of a patient with an appointment and I ended up needing to take a half day off of work (loss of work time 4 hours). February 2015, I go out to my car to head to work and yet again my car wont start, doing the same things it was doing in January when it wouldnt start and I could move the battery cables. I was able to get the car started, only this time instead of taking it to Pep Boys, I took the car to Don McGill Toyota and asked them to check it out because at this point I was doubting that Pep Boys was able to diagnose and/or fix the problem since the same problem happened 3 weeks after they checked it out and said everything was fine. The technician at Don McGill came and spoke with me saying that the battery and alternator were fine, but the battery was the wrong group size for my car. *I was late to work by 2 hours waiting to get my car checked out. I called Pep Boys and left a message for the Store Manager to call me and gave details about the issue; he was less than concerned for my issue as it was 2 days later before I heard from him. When he and I spoke on the phone he spouted the customer service speech about he wanted me to come in there and he wanted to make it right, and that he would put the correct battery in my car at no additional cost from what Ive already paid. However, at this point I did not want to have to take any additional time off work for Pep Boys error and the manager scheduled me an appointment for 3 days later on Saturday. I show up at the location for my appointment and I find out that the battery they are supposed to be putting in my car is not even at the store. It was over an hour after my appointment time that the battery was at the store and was put in my car.

RUN!!!! DO NOT do business here unless you want to be ripped off!! We brought out vehicle here, waited two hours for them to tell us that they would not be able to work on it until the next day. Really?! Why wouldnt you have mentioned that to us in the beginning?? Thats not even it. We received a quote on the repair and they tried to add on additional fees that were not needed. They tried to add fees to the quote that was already included with another fee. And on top of the horrible service while we were waiting Marcus had the speaker phone on while taking a payment over the phone. So we were able to hear ALL of the gentlemans credit card info. The whole cc #, exp. date, security code and his zip. All info someone needs to empty his bank account with. I was blown away! We told them to NOT work on our car and we brought it to the Pep Boys on HWY 6 where we had a completely different experience. They didnt try to add on additional fees like Fabian and Marcus tried to do. Matt helped us and he was honest. We will come back to this Pep Boys on HWY 6. I REPEAT DO NOT DO BUSINESS AT THIS PEP BOYS. FABIAN AND MARCUS WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!

Updated to 2 stars because they did give me a reimbursement for the first rental and hopefully will do the same for the second one. Pep Boys has lost a customer due to this store horrible service. Came here for an oil change, alignment and 100,000 review. They said I need to replace the timing belt and 2 front studs, total bill $1,400. They say its too late in the day and the service takes about 3-4 hrs and that I need to come back tomorrow, but to order the parts I need to pay today. I pay to get the parts, come back the next day and they said the parts were shipped to another location, that they will do what they can today but I am going to have to come back because even if I left my car here all day today it would still not be ready until tomorrow by the end of the day. I offered to go get the parts from the store and they said it would only delay the process because they couldnt take the car apart and get it going... I have been without a car for about a month now. You can keep the money I paid for a 3 year alignment... Im never coming back to Pep Boys!!!!!!

Very, very disappointed with their service. I had a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan that was misfiring with an engine code. So I had them do a tune-up replacing spark plugs and wires for about $250. Took van and drove it for less than a day and the misfirings were still there. I took the vehicle back and they said that they did NOT do any diagnosis for the misfirings but rather did exactly what the customer suggested, a tuneup. So, I paid for the $90 diagnosis and the incompetent mechanics said that I needed to replace the entire engine because it had a burnt valve. SO, I drove the van all the way to A Mobile Car Doctor Stafford TX and had Ben the owner take a look at the van. Bens diagnosis for free was bad fuel injector. A Mobile Car Doctor replaced the bad fuel injector for $200 and the van has been running great without any misfires at all. PepBoys burnt valve diagnosis was WRONG. RIPOFF.

They told me one price over the phone for an oil change and were charging me about 4 times as much when I actually got there for the service. I asked them why and they stated that certain specs of my car required it to be more. I have been driving Honda cars my entire life and I have never been charged that much for regular maintenance! I was very annoyed and it was a waste of my time. I told the front desk person to tell customers the correct price over the phone and he said he didnt know who I spoke to but I told him it didnt matter, the entire staff should know how to do their job and provide proper customer service. I canceled my appointment and left and went elsewhere I knew I would get proper service! Will never be going there or to any Pep Boys again for anything!
