Ill tell you why I love half price books.... They have a bit of everything for everyone. Prices are great and usually the staff is amazing. Only reason for docking a star is bc they lean towards downright stinginess when it comes to selling them things. I had an old Xbox original that still worked fine with controllers cables games and remote control for DVD viewing and they wanted to give me 20 bucks. Crazy. Anyway otherwise its a lovely store, very inviting, they dont gripe at you even if youre sitting in the floor reading a book! Its cozy.

Pretty cool store, pretty fair prices as well. Pretty funny all these people griping about how they didnt pay enough for your precious books, maybe because they sell books pretty cheap anyway and have to make at least a tiny profit. Kinda what a business is right? If your so concerned about that take your books somewhere else or just dont sell them if there worth more than that to you? Common sense people. Anyways great place to shop and buy books for fair prices :)

Honestly you guys dont deserve a one star rating. I brought in about 140 BRAND NEW books and I was offered only $54. What a rip off!!!! There werent any books at a good price to buy either. I hope you all enjoy the big profit you are gonna make off of me. I will not go back to this store ever again. I really wish i hadnt have taken that offer but didnt feel like hauling all of those books back to my truck.

This is the place to go for ANY of your book needs. The relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff make it haven for the casual shopper or those who have something they are bc searching for. The staff is very knowledgeable and can tell you is that have a book in stock or they can order it from another site and have it delivered. You can sell all kinds of things here besides books too. I love this place!

Friendly staff but when I came to sell my books they said I couldnt leave the store and they took 2 hours to get to my books. If youre gonna make people wait atleast have some sort of seats! There was literally 4 chairs throughout the store and they were always occupied. So I had to sit on the floor in an aisle. Super awkward for other people trying to reach over me and look at books.

Books in Demand is an entirely different kind of experience - there is a narrower variety of books there, although they can be gotten very cheaply. Half Price Books gets publisher overstocks regularly, and this keeps the selection so current that you can get a two year old book oftentimes for a fourth of what its initial list price was.

always a nice stop to spend a bit of time checking out books. They are constantly refreshing their stock of older books, which I love to look at and occasionally purchase. The staff is helpful but only if you ask for help, you will be left alone otherwise which is great if you know that this is their way.

Good place for browsing and not really looking for anything particular. If you are looking for specific books...it may be a challenge as most books are gently used. Great prices but parking can be an issue. All in all not bad.

The waiting of 3 hours is crazy. And being told not to leave. Get some seats for people. As for books I payed yall guys 26.00 for some of my books. Then you want me to take 3.00 for some of them. Thats a rip off

I love this place! They have an excellent seldom of books, the prices are dirt cheap, and they continue to have great boardgames more and more. I have a hard time not spending money here, I just cant help it!

Smaller HPB than normal with a square layout that seems less homey than others. Regardless, still Ana amazing book store and by far the greatest place to shop for books versus large corporations.

This is not a bad bookstore, but its hard to compete with Books In Demand downtown, which sells everything at 2 bucks or less. Same size store, same quality books.
