I have had two experiences with Foundation tattoo over the past week. Both were incredible. Im one who not only appreciates talent but also a friendly and amiable attitude. For my first visit, my friend and I came in for a tattoo. He was a walk in and in 15 minutes he was in the chair getting tattooed by the amazing David Barry. Not only was Davids line work IMPECCABLE but he was also very friendly and easy to talk to--something that both me and my nervous friend appreciated. A week later, I had my appointment with Stephanie. She took my idea up and beyond what I expected. I came to her with an crappily drawn snapchat drawing and a couple of pictures to draw inspiration from and what she came up with was absolutely incredible. Im so proud to wear her art on my skin. Long story short, yes the shop is relatively new, but the artists are definitely veterans. These are incredibly talented artists who not only enjoy and respect the art of tattooing, but also enjoy and respect their customers--something that, from personal experience, other shops in San Marcos lack. There was not an air of arrogance nor an attitude of superiority; no rude remarks or condescending comments. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and will definitely be coming back. Save yourself a trip to Austin and come support these local and talented artists. Theyre incredible.

I have close to 30 tattoos, and have worked with artists from all over the country. Elwood is by far one of the best artists Ive had the pleasure of working with. I came in with a small idea and he transformed my idea into something completely amazing that was beyond the scope of what I ever would have been able to envision. I had a rather poorly done and embarrassing tattoo on my shoulder and he transformed it into something beautiful that gets complimented every single time Im out in public. Not only did he do an amazing job, he also did research prior to my session to ensure he captured the whole idea and colors of what I wanted. He has such creative vision and unique talent. Dont waste you time, money, or skin by going anywhere else.

I just got home from my first tattoo with Elwood (my own small tribute to Prince, a love symbol behind my ear). What more can I say than Ive found the place Ill be going to for all my tattoos from this point forward. Shop was clean, interesting to look at (which is a must when youre laying on your side facing a wall for a while), and the prices were amazingly reasonable. Elwood was great and absolutely knows his stuff. He went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and that the placement and colors were what I wanted. An awesome experience, and one Ill definitely be repeating!

Very knowledgable artists, both in art and tattoing techniques, which is necessary for the execution of beautiful tattoos. This shop is owned and operated by knowledgeable and skilled artists. Their pricing is matched to the experience and skill it takes to complete your tattoo, so you wont be overcharged. The layout of the shop is great. These guys know what their doing when it comes to art and tattoing. This is by far the place to go in San Marcos. I wont go to anyone else for any work that I get.

Theres so many positive things I could say about this company from the cleanliness and comfortability of the shop to the super cool and friendly artists that work there. But let me just speak on what is truly important and what impressed me most about it... The artwork is truly amazing. Max has done 2 of my tats and quite frankly, Im sure I wont be letting another artist touch my sleeve. Lol. The colors and the detail is just so outstanding. This is my go-to tatto shop. :) good luck on your tats!

Elwood did a wonderful job on my arm piece. He was easy to work with in the conceptual stages of coming up with the design. I was never made to feel rushed or uncomfortable. The shops setup is also worth praising. The private rooms add a unique air of professionalism not usually associated with most tattoo parlors that Ive been to. The shops professional aesthetics are balanced out by the authentic character that Elwood and his crew naturally bring to the experience. Highly recommend.

Got my first tattoo had a amazing time David did a amazing job. I would definitely recommend to any one who is looking for a new tattoo. I am very impressed with the work, mine was in memory of my cousin that passed away and David made sure that it was everything I wanted. I cant emphasize enough about the professional curtesy , sanitary Environment and Straight Out amazing work that they do I had a amazing time and will definitely be back.

My experience here at Foundation was 10/10. AMAZING customer service. Very clean and nice building. When I first walked in I was greeted with hellos and welcomes from everyone. They were excellent at making people feel comfortable. Let me tell you about Elwood. He is the coolest and sweetest guy! He made sure that everything was to my liking and comfortability. If you need a tattoo I would DEFINITELY recommend this place.

Im getting my piece done by El Wood, awesome hilarious dude! Has great art work and tattooing skills, hes reasonable, honest, and talented. Over all just a great atmosphere throughout the whole shop and all the other artist. I had a wonderful experience at foundation tattoo! Everyone was so nice and friendly i felt welcome and comfortable. My artist Jon was amazing he did a phenomenal job on my tattoo. Not to mention i drove 3 1/2 hours just to get a piece done by him and I couldnt be more pleased! I highly recommend this shop and I will for sure be coming back!

Drove from Dallas to the shop, David made sure he had time to fit me in. All the artist are very friendly and talented. David made sure the tattoo I was getting was exactly what I wanted and the finished tattoo was better than I ever imagined. Id highly recommend these gut to anybody. Ive been getting my sleeve done by maxwell for the last year now and I refuse to get tattooed anywhere else. They are amazing artist and really make you feel comfortable and make easy conversation which definitely make it go by faster. Oh and to top it off during my long sections I watched Netflix for three hours!
