This is my SECOND time leaving a review for this shop because my initial review has conveniently disappeared from their review page(32 reviews but only 31 are seen). Dont worry, Ill be leaving a review on YELP as well, where they cant hide it. My girlfriends and I were looking to get matching friend tattoos this past weekend while we were on a trip to Austin. We stopped by the twisted rabbit and they told us that they could fit us in later that night and they were extremely friendly. My friends and I arrived back at the shop, had the female tattoo artist look at what we wanted, which were simple. clean drawings taken from Pinterest (pretty hard to screw up!) and she drew them up for us. After we saw the sketches, we waited around for about 45 minutes and then a young boy who looked about 18 came up to us and asked if we were ready. We were all very confused because we expected the female artist who drew them out to be the one tattooing us, but we went along with it because we did not expect that this shop would be letting their apprentice tattoo customers. I went first and within not even a full 5 minutes, he was finished. And you can tell. My tattoo is crooked, the lines are squiggly, the detail is not truly detailed (it looks like a blurred blob) The quality of the tattoos we received was so poor that my girlfriends and I are now having to spend $300+ to get an incredibly poor $40 tattoo covered up. The female and older male artist may do a great job, but as far as Im concerned, this place is not worth it if they will let someone so inexperienced tattoo their customers. 10/10 biggest mistake weve ever made coming here. EDIT: Because I cannot reply to the shop owners response to this and it looks like she has hidden it because it is no longer visible, Ill reply here. She was perfectly happy to re-draw our tattoos or so she seemed. I had her re-draw mine and another friends ONCE (the first drawing and an additional re-drawing that we chose), another friend had hers re-drawn TWICE and the fourth friend didnt have hers re-drawn at all, and as you stated, it was an inch and a half so Im unsure why it seems like it was so daunting for you. And yes, we were all happy with the tattoos about 5 minutes after getting them, till we left the shop. I even asked my friend in the shop if it looked crooked, which it does. We were all excited and hyped up on adrenaline, but as soon as we got home, we realized that what we were dealing with. Also, I have added photos for proof of the kind of quality tattoos we all received which were taken as soon as we got home, about 30 minutes after we were tattood, hence the redness. The shop owner claims we are taking poor care of them, but all of us have additional tattoos that look FANTASTIC and have healed just fine, so that is her YET again trying to cover her tracks. ALSO, they didnt even offer any aftercare instructions. We had to ask them for a pamphlet because we wanted all of our ducks in a row, to which the shop owner responded with, "Just dab them with water and a paper towel."...How long have you been doing this? Now obviously we are all adults who signed a release form but that does not in ANY way take away from the low quality work done to our bodies and its really unfortunate that this shop has such a way with handling their unsatisfied customers. ADDITIONALLY: Neither myself nor my friend left any reviews for any other tattoo shops in the San Marcos area or any other area (we made a remark about stopping at one shop prior and it was slightly sketchy, but that was it), so as far as I am concerned, this shop is trying to cover their tracks, but at the end of the day, they have unsatisfied customers and will take zero accountability for it. Its also horrifying that every time someone leaves a negative review, they handle it in the most unprofessional of ways by either not responding at all, or by claiming the person never came to their shop in the first place. I am honestly astonished that they see no issue with this work. Is this really how you run your business???

It was my first tattoo and I was nervous, but Im still pretty disappointed with the work. I asked for the tattoo to look like a sketch or drawing and I got squiggly lines... yeah. Sure, he asked if I wanted them straightened up, but after specifically pointing out how I wanted the shading in a certain area and watching him not do it like I asked, I just kind of gave up on being taken seriously. The tattoo isnt a complete disaster, but I think Id rather go somewhere else to have to it touched up. I also felt a little played when I knew the tattoo wasnt coming out well and other employees started coming over buttering me up saying it looked soooo good. Overall, if youre experienced with tattoos and what not its probably a great shop to go to, but I wouldnt go if youre getting your first tattoo or youre alone. Also, I know this sounds bad for a 3 star review, but Im also factoring in my non confrontational attitude and not saying anything at the time.

Went here to have the snake eyes tongue piercing done. The people were really nice but unfortunately the experience was not good. Apparently the guy who did the piercing was inexperienced with this specific piercing because he marked the piercing dots VERY crooked and even when he saw that the dots were crooked he went ahead & pierced it anyways. I wish he wouldve taken his time and showed me where the dots were to make sure I was happy with where the piercing would be but, Instead of double checking he went ahead and pierced it. He realized it was very crooked and had his wife re-pierce in the correct spot. The healing process was very painful & it took a lot longer to heal because of being pierced twice. Also today (a week later) I just had to the ER because one of the holes formed a blood bubble from the first spot he pierced me and it busted a blood vessel & wouldnt stop bleeding. I would not recommend this place for tongue piercings at all.

My friends and I wanted to get a tattoo in honor of our awesome weekend in San Marcos. We went to the twisted rabbit tattoo for small and simple tattoos. The lady who drew out the tattoos did an amazing job, we were so excited and felt so welcomed by the staff. Unfortunately the artist who actually did our tattoos wasnt on the same level as the artist that drew them out for us. The artist who did our tattoos didnt take his time. It felt like he rushed through the 4 of us. He spent no more than 5 minutes on each of us. While I get that the designs we chose were not very detailed he should have taken more time so the end result wasnt so sloppy. The lines are bleeding out and crooked. Now 48 hours after getting them we are looking for artists to cover them. I would like to add that the owner, Emily is incredibly unprofessional when it comes to unsatisfied customers. Dont waste your money.
