I went into the store to purchase some patio furniture: 2 chairs and an ottoman. Ordered at customer service, and set the delivery date of the following Monday (I ordered the Wed. before). Paid an extra $20 so they could go up 1 flight of stairs to my apartment. On Monday afternoon I got a call from the contracted delivery co. who stated that they wont go up stairs, and have informed HD of this many times. I then got a call from the person in CS I ordered the set with. He apologized, stating he forgot they dont go up stairs, and the store would deliver Wednesday. By noon on Wed. I still had no call, so I called in and was told it would be delivered that day, but no time given. At 5pm still no call, so I called in and was told they were trying to find a truck to pull the flat bed trailer they had to get it to my home. At 6:30 still nothing, so I called back and asked to speak with a manager. I was told one of the chairs was now missing, and the manager was looking for it, then was put on hold for 20 minutes. I called back at 7 and 730, still no manager to speak to. At 8pm I called CS and asked them to page the managers name I had been given. I told him I wanted the full set delivered tomorrow, assembled (no charge to me) or I would be canceling my order. The next day the furniture did arrive when I was told it would, however upon further inspection, found they had brought me a floor sample chair! It had dead bugs in the wicker, the cushions were worn, scratches all over the wicker, and when I picked the cushions up I found 2 fabric swatches (I had seen these tied to the floor model chairs before I purchased the set). I was furious. Armed with pictures and the swatches I went in the next day to Customer Service. The wonderful associate Jenn immediately said she would make the situation right, and found me a new in-box chair at another store nearby which she personally went and picked up for me. Her exemplary customer service made this ridiculous situation end well. When I called to report this complaint to corporate, I also gave her kudos for great work. However, I will not ever again buy appliances, furniture, etc from Home Depot. The delivery issues were enough, but trying to sneak in a floor model when I paid for a NEW chair was just terrible.

I recently rented an item from the Rental Department. At first I felt like things couldnt be better. The guy (PAUL) was helpful friendly and swift, got us in and out and no problem. Upon return, I discovered that there were fees added to the rental amount for various insurance items. HERE IS WERE YOU NEED TO BE WARNED!!! They dont explain anything to you like a typical rental situation. If you rent a car they go through a contract and point out each individual option you have in the way of insurance, etc... Home Depot doesnt mention anything, instead they tell you to read and sign the 3inch by 3inch credit car screen. If you could see it, that would be great but since you cant and rest assured there is nothing to worry about from the clerk, you sign up for all these charges. So after leaving a 300 deposit for a 160 dollar rental, you get a credit of 23 bucks. THEY ROB YOU BLIND AND WHEN YOU CALL THEM OUT ON THE BULLSHIT, THE CLERK (different guy) CHUCKLES AND SAYS, I GUESS YOU SHOULD HAVE READ IT. I called the Manager and he basically said there is nothing he would do unless I wanted to spend more money in there. I have been a Home Depot guy for years, never go to Lowes. I will never spend a dollar in a Home Depot again. Not even their dollar if they gave me one!!

If youre a serious DIY-er ... stay in the car and keep driving to the store on Bandera ... this store at 1-10 and DeZavala is poorly stocked, poorly staffed and you can almost never find what you went there to buy. Never in my life have I seen a bigger collection of lazy, unmotivated, untrained and ill-mannered clowns. Its like real life Clerks/Slackers in there. Even though what we were looking was in stock online, in fact there were 31 items in stock, these idiots couldnt find it ... and definitely didnt feel like going to look for it and basically told us we were out of luck. They suggested we go to the pro desk ... the pro desk confirms, yes, there is 31 in stock ... but asked the very same clowns for help finding it and these same idiots after walking about three feet, tell you yup its in stock but we cant find it. Occasionally you run across a unicorn that might be able to help you but that is few and far between; and sure enough youll never find him or her again. This store is a black mark on the Home Depot brand and I hope they do something about it. Its absolutely awful in just about every way.

I called the DeZavala location asking if they had a turbo box fan in stock before I headed down the street to pick it up. The helper in electrical and lighting said they did not since they were seasonal, but that I could order one online. I thanked him and proceeded to order online, but the website said I could not do so because there were some in stock at the store. I decided to go inside and ask in person. They told me to go to the Bandera location where they had some in stock. The workers in Bandera found a few they had and it hit me that the DeZavala workers probably just didnt want to deal with the hassle of looking up high for it. Terrible experience. I had to drive 30 minutes away when someone could have easily looked for me at the location near my home. I always work hard and Ive been in customer service for years so there in no excuse for laziness.

I about 85% of the time this store is on point. Ive been to some Home Depots that were just complete nightmares. Very knowledgeable staff, they are very well informed about the products sold in store especially the new stuff coming out. Point you in the right direction let you know what deals and sales they have going on for the day, week, month. Last thing is they have a hidden diamond in the rough employee who you can usually find in the garden lawn mower or herbicides and pesticides section. Jerry is the man Sims knowledge base and customer service is top-notch 10 stars all day. If you have an issue with your mower please go see him. He will help coach you. Teach you how to do it yourself, and save HUNDREDS of dollars a year. I owe that man a debt of gratitude and will be a Home Depot customer for life.

Ordered a countertop on July 6, paid for it July 11. Told "2 to 3 weeks for install". Contractor for Home Depot measured on July 20. Home Depot (#588 on Dezavala Road) dropped the ball and forgot to call us to approve measurements. Found that out on August 5. No counter. Talked to Marcus (assistant manager) on Aug 13. Still no counter. I had to call today to find out its "being fabricated" and will not be ready until August 29. Then a week to wait for contractor to schedule it. That makes the install sometime around Sept. 7. A call to the coroprate "customer service" at Home Depot did nothing to hurry this thing up. Meanwhile we are washing dishes in our downstairs bathroom sink!! Oh and a sign outside the store says counters installed 7 days from payment. Yeah....right.
