I liked it but its not for everyone. Its surprisingly small inside (although at the time of this review, the food court hasnt opened yet). Think of it like a Japanese Trader Joes or something. Some notable things are that the fish is REALLY good. I had the yellowtail sashimi and LAWD that was probably the best Ive ever tasted. I am told that much of (if not all?) their fish is imported from Japan. I actually really liked going here for the gift shop at the entrance. Not only is it CUTE but theres alot of really fun/funny/cute/useful stuff. There is a HUGE selection of pens and stationary if youre into that sort of thing. Theres also a healthy selection of Japanese books, magazines and manga. Also if youre a cat person, theres alot of cat-related gifts. If you want some good sashimi or a some Japanese snacks and gifts, its great. If youre hoping for a general grocery store than maybe not.

Mitsuwa is finally open! It was a zoo with a line going all the way around to the side of the building. It is much, much smaller than I had anticipated. I didnt count, but perhaps only about 4 or 5 aisles for grocery items. As a small store, there are limited shelf space, but it seems they did a very good job of providing a variety of choices. The other stores in Mitsuwa or in the same shopping strip have not really opened yet except for Kula Sushi and Kinokuniya. While it was nice to see a good variety of Japanese products, the best is probably the prepared foods. They have a variety of dishes which they had a hard time keeping in stock, from different bento dishes, a la carte items, and even onigiri. Not to knock grocery store sushi (although I avoid, even H Marts), the sushi here is very good. Unfortunately its a long drive for me, but Im glad they are here.

I was so excited on hearing wed be getting a Mitsuwa in DFW! While, as others say, its a bit on the smaller side and sometimes claustrophobically crowded on its busier days, it still has a wealth of Japanese items that youd be hard pressed to find elsewhere around the city. Theyve got some shopping carts that hold carseats as well--very handy! Theyve got fresh food daily--all kinds of filled rice balls, sushi plates, omelettes, even things like mayo-covered lotus root and taiyaki. The produce section is also wonderful--theyve got tons of types of mushrooms, plus fresh lychee! Theres also non-food items here, like appliances and cosmetics. My usual grabs when I go here are dorayaki, fresh fish for homemade sashimi, some kind of Ramune and a bottle from their huge variety of sake.

Mitsuwa is a nice little novelty area complete with a Japanese grocery store and a food court. The grocery store was smaller than I expected but it carries an assortment of Japanese food items from sashimi to sake to snack items. Theres also a grab-and-go deli with bentos. If you arrive after 8pm, those deli items are marked down in price. The food court is what most people visit Mitsuwa for. There is a katsu shop, ramen shop, a couple of bakeries, ice cream and loose leaf tea. If you go on a weekend, you will struggle finding a spot to sit and eat. There is also a nice bookstore in Mitsuwa (a smaller version of the bookstore in the 99 Ranch Plaza in Carrollton). Overall, a nice spot although its not worth going out of my way to visit. But thats just my opinion.

I ate the chicken cutlet with curry at "SUTADONYA" in Mitsuwa Marketplace, and it was delicious. My only regret was not trying their signature dish, the garlic chicken sutadon. The meal was about a bit pricey, but it filled me up. The plus side to this restaurant is that they accept credit card. Some other restaurants in the vicinity only accept cash, but there is any atm nearby. It definitely gets crowded, so it may be difficult to get a seat. The bakery nearby is also really nice to stop by. The market itself has a variety of japanese imported foods and material. Its a nice place to shop and eat.

The market itself is small but it has well known Japanese items. But I think what really brings people into the market is the food court. They have the best meat I have tasted in the ramen on the food court. Not to leave out the fact that people have pointed out that they may put some ajinomoto. Anyway I am from NYC and the Mitsuwa market on the Jersey side is very similar just a little bigger. In conclusion, I love the food court it keeps me coming back and eating the delicious ramen.

New Japanese Grocery. This Mitsuwa Market Not big as the one in California but offer good quality meat, seafood, snacks, packed deli. Bakery store and food court will be coming soon. Since this store is new and employees are very news so you need to watch cashier will put right price especially for discounted offered item. They do sometimes mistake and you should check receipt there. I noticed their mistake when I have come back home and it was too late to come back there..

Small upscale Japanese market. The place is very clean and well presented. Things are on the pricey side but you pay for the quality and the range of unusual items found on the shelves. Perfect place for lovers of unusual seafood offerings like sea urchins. They stock Waygu beef and most fresh items are in small prepackaged containers (probably due to price? ) definitely worth a visit. The food court was not open yet so I will be going back when it is.

I saw many people saying it is small. Well it is, if you compare it with other Mitsuwas in, for example, CA. But hey, we are in Texas ok? As a man living in Austin, this place is good enough to me. Not to mention you can get some awesome ramen, curry rice and green tea soft serve here. But if you are coming for the bookstore, just head to the other kinokuniya in the city. That one is much bigger and better.

Though smaller than many other Mitsuwa stores Ive visited in Southern California, the Mitsuwa in Texas has good selections and has a good atmosphere. The lunch section has good food and also the vegetables are pretty fresh. Some of the items could be a bit overpriced but at the same time those items might be difficult to find somewhere else. Employees are helpful and they keep the supermarket very clean.

Small but that can be a good thing - I like smaller stores like Trader Joes where I can get in and out in a few minutes. Excellent sea food selection and Im looking forward to trying some of the beef and pork cuts that I havent seen before. I cannot wait until the food court opens. The onigiri was good but slightly disappointing after eating onigiri from Kinoko (which has sadly closed).

Cash ONLY! The entire row of restaurants have not made it to the 21st century yet and only accept cash. Either theyre too cheap to pay for the card transaction fee or are afraid of machines. There is one wells fargo atm in the lobby that will gladly eat your debit card if you dont pay attention to it. The food is the only upside to the experience.

Great selection of hard to find Japanese and Okinawan food and products. Great selection of candy for the kids that arent usually carried in the "Asian" grocery stores such as the blue berry & black black gum, Mr. Coffee, Orion Beer and Fu. Food court was packed, but delicious- and the bookstore has current magazines, books, anime and stationary.
