My experience was horrible overall. I walked into the store and was greeted with a friendly staff who helped and assisted me with the process of purchasing a puppy from them with their "Pet Guarantee" which states that the pet purchased is healthy at the time of purchase. Fine and well. I got home and a day later, my brand new puppy was sick and I took her to the vet that they recommended because apparently it was free since they work in tandem with one another. The Animal Clinic of Lubbock told me that my puppy had hypoglycemia and that she had seizures because of this. They instructed me to leave her there over Easter weekend to monitor her while she was on IV. I get a call the next day saying that my puppy is active and doing better than when I took her in there in the first place. Awesome, Ill go pick her up come Monday morning. Beginning of the day, I get a call saying that my puppy had died of liver failure because she hadnt peed for over 16+ hours. What the hell? Im crying and furious so I talk to PetsPlus and I ask them for a refund. They tell me NO and that the best they can do for now is in-store credit. They want me to wait 30 days before I can even get my money back for my dead puppy. Heres the best part: they offered half of what I paid if I wanted my money back right there and then. Let that sink in: THEY WANTED ME $200 + tax FOR A DEAD PUPPY. My problem is that if theyre going to give me a refund anyways in 30 days, why not give it back to me now? Also, why try to give me an offer of HALF of what I paid for a dead puppy. Sickening. Im doing a charge back on my credit card as soon as possible and I will never be doing business here again. Staff is friendly, owner is shady, horrible overall experience.

DO NOT BUY PETS HERE. *********BEWARE*********** My fiance bought me a puppy here LAST WEEK. The puppy seemed fine and was active. We went to the "Veterinary Clinic of Lubbock" since their voucher program with Pets Plus would give us the first visit free and had the new puppy checked within the return policy time frame. The puppy had earmites!!! I have no pets with earmites and the vet told us we did not even have her long enough to have earmites from our home so either they were from the pet store or whoever Pets Plus received the puppy from. 1 day after the vet visit the puppy is ill with a gastrointestinal bacterial overgrowth! To put it short the puppy had an on going infection with her digestive system and it finally brought her down. We ended up taking her to our family veterinarian for treatment because we want to keep her still. It was very sad. My fiance paid $400 for this puppy from Pets Plus and then we had to pay our own Vet an additional $200 to treat her for illness that she should have never come with. Veterinary Clinic of Lubbock also did not do as thorough of a check as I thought they would otherwise they would have caught her infection in her gastric system.

My wife and I bought a dog there two years ago and they said it was a Great Dane/English Mastiff mix they found off the street. We paid for the dog and two nights later it was throwing up and pooping everywhere. Turned out the dog had Parvo and would probably die soon. We took her to Above and Beyond Pet Clinic (not the one they recommend) and they were actually able to cure our puppy after $1000 bill. Not mad at the clinic, just pets plus for basically selling a dog with a death sentence. Our dog is fine and healthy now thanks to Above and Beyond, shes a little over two years old. Also, shes a Black Mouth Curr, not an English Mastiff/Great Dane Mix like they said. So theres that too. If you get an animal from Pets Plus do it to save them from the staff, not because you like their store.

I got my collie from here. She was healthy and turned out being the best dog ever. The vet they give a check up with is good too. This was 9 years ago and she is still alive. I debated whether or not she was full blooded for a very long time until her short hair grew into beautiful long locks. I always go in and see what they have. Weve bought lots of bunnies and piggies from them too. The only downside is that they leave it up the people to clean up after the puppy messes and ppl usually dont and it doesnt smell like they use bleach water to clean the floors neither. It smells like a dog pound in there. Plus the lady with the blonde hair is super super rude all the time and most of the time its uncalled for. The lady with the foreign voice is awesome tho.

Went in there today and came out shocked to see how some animals are cared for. The dogs look like they are in horrible condition health wise and living conditions. I heard someone mention a puppy with ticks on it so I had to see it for myself. Sure enough, the puppy was covered with ticks on its face, belly, legs, all over... Everything in this store looked unhealthy, the birds, rodents, reptiles, etc. There was a dead tortoise in its cage with a price tag still on it. The staff could care less about the animals because they are just in it to make money. This place needs to be shut down and the animals need to be given to a rescue where they will be cared for. It was absolutely disgusting.

Adopted a returned dachshund from them about a year ago. Price of adoption ran about 300 usd dog had worms when we first got it home took it to the vet clinic for a check up and they paid for the 20 usd medication. other than that dog was in a state of malnutrition as well as being fed dog food that was not intended for a puppy. The dog would not eat any of the treats from the bag that they gave us most of them seemed stale and were too hard for a small dog to chew which made no sense. they are decently priced on pet supplies comparative to other outlets. but for the dogs betterment I take him to three dog bakery or petsmart for all his needs. he seems to like those places more.

Its pretty dirty inside and animals dont seem to be in the best shape. They would rather be on the phone then help anyone. Selection is little and prices are high. I have been there 2-3 times and never have been satisfied. I recently went in to finally use a groupon that I forgot about. They will not honor it even after it expires! And on the the groupon it says "paid value still good." Refused to accept it and it was only expired maybe 6 months ago. DO NOT buy a groupon from Pets Plus if you forget about them!!! They have always been rude, after that I will take my business elsewhere. Be cautious about this store!!!!

My boyfriend and I went to this store on a whim and walked out with the cutest white baby bunny. Its a pure bred Florida White/New Zealand White rabbit. He was absolutely healthy and still is. Currently he is full grown and is the happiest little dude. The employees were very kind and let me hold him in the store as I walked around and looked at other pets. We bought him for a good price. Since then Ive gone to just hold their puppies and cats for fun and the employees are super nice and let you hold them. They even talk to you nicely and are not pushy at all with trying to sell you their animals.
