Im not a big "review" person, however, this needs to be heard. A sign downstairs said "good work isnt cheap" Our tattoos werent cheap ($150 for mine and $175 for my boyfriends) but neither one of them are good... My Boyfriend I decided we wanted to get matching celtic shamrocks on our wrists (which some guy at the front desk gave us a "Thats not douche-y or cliche at all" look), and since a friend of ours was getting a chest piece done here (AND HES PARTICULAR ABOUT HIS PARLOURS) We thought it would be a good idea to get ours there too. Homer was our artist, as a person he was pretty awesome, the atmosphere was great. A great deal of old school art all over the walls. He told us he had something like 20 years experience, so we were comfortable with him. He started on mine first and his first 3 lines were just wonky and they didnt get any better. Then his brother and like 5 other people came in and started chit chatting for like 5 minutes. As soon as it was finished I noticed a bunch of issues, and it being a Celtic tattoo, they were easy to spot. My boyfriends experience wasnt any better. Homer started talking about an issue with his Harley which we didnt mind the conversation, but he seemed distracted by it and the more annoyed he got with it, the harder he was on my boyfriend. Another employee came up and our artist asked him to read a text and from what was read, he went even harder on my boyfriend. I understand we all have personal issues, but when youre dealing with someones PERMANENT artwork, shouldnt you devote ALL your attention to the client? My boyfriend and I were left with blown out lines, deep scarring that will more than likely keloid, uneven lines and some, that when the heal, will blend together. (This was my 16th Tattoo so, I know how things will heal on my skin) We came in here for its notoriety and great reviews for a very special bonding experience, we left with scars and bad tattoos. We will DEFINITELY have to get them fixed by someone else, and it wont be by anyone at 713.

For my first piercing, I wanted my tongue pierced. I know, not one of the most common for a first. But, oh well. The person who pierced me was Rick. Right off the bat, he was intimidating. I was actually scared to ask questions (and NO ONE SHOULD FEEL THAT WAY.) He didnt use a piercing clamp/forcep to keep my tongue in place. Some piercers are quite skilled at doing a tongue piercing without them so I didnt bother questioning. He did it, hurt like hell. Afterwards, I was constantly questioning why the barbell was rubbing the hell out of my bottom gums. But, I let it go until two days later. I went back to him... only for him to tell me that HE WAS ILL THAT DAY AND LEFT AFTER HE PIERCED ME. In addition to that, he even said after I showed him my tongue, "Wow, that swelled up all types of weird," and my gums would adjust to the piercing and create some sort of dent for it. Gum recession, perhaps? I went ahead and asked a different piercers opinion, she said that it was extremely crooked and I requested her to remove it. Unfortunately, I had to choose between keeping the piercing, but later suffer gum recession or remove it and keep my teeth and gums. I chose the latter. But, now... I suffer nerve damage at the tip of my tongue, thanks to Ricks horrible piercing placement. I had such high hopes and had my $50 wasted.

This place is awful and treats 18 year olds like they are 4 years old. They scam you for your money and dont warn you before that walking into a room costs $30 no matter what, even if they cant do what you want. I walked in the shop and wanted a midi piercing on my ear and told the guy exactly where i wanted it and even showed him a picture, he said ok and that we would walk into one of the rooms and talk about it. I showed him where i wanted it and he told me that I couldnt have it there and it had to be a cartilage piercing. I did not want that, so obviously, I said that I didnt want it and walked out. He proceeded to be so utterly rude to me and tell me that i had to pay $30 (the price of the piercing) because he opened a package. Even though he never ever mentioned that before. So i asked if i just went ahead and did it if i would have to pay another $30, he said no that he would just have to tack on an extra 10$ for sterilizing the tools, so i asked why i had to pay 30$ in the first place and he said that hes "required to" That is absolute bullshit. Its because i was 18 and had no adult with me. so he took my money. The guy is rude and so unfriendly, I would never want someone like that piercing my ears ever. I highly encourage you to find another place for piercings. This place is terrible.

Wife went in to get her lip pierced. We read reviews that said Rick was rude and intimidating. He wasnt overly friendly; he didnt do a lot of small talk, but he was polite and answered all questions in detail. I think some of the reviewers were just nervous and dont sound very mature. The shop was busy and we had to wait a while but we were greeted and asked to be patient. He asked my wife exactly what she wanted done and walked her through all the steps before he began. The piercing was quick and practically painless. Maybe some of the reviewers who left negative reviews needed a lot more reassurance about their piercings and this guy was more like a doctor getting down to business than a barber making small talk. My wife was given a pamphlet with information for taking care of the piercing and Rick gave extra info on healing time, how long to wait to go swimming, etc. A very good experience overall.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE! !!! I came here in May to get a dermal piercing in my face, the piercer cut me by my eye with his very sharp needle and my piercing never healed! !! After 6 weeks I came back to change the surgical piece and the piercer could not remove the earring from my face and his pulling on the piece caused my piercing to get infected. ..I mean yellow puss and everything. This piercing was eventually rejected by my body and I had to again written to them to have it removed. ..the piercer basically told me that it was my tough luck and that dermal rejections happen all the time! !! No, sorry this happened to you, no we value or clients what can we do to help. ..just a scab will appear in a few weeks! I would not recommend 713 TATTOO, to anyone! What a waste of $70 bucks now my flawless face had a SCAR! !!

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE - I placed a BVLA Jewelry order here in the amount of $1100.00 on Feb 12, 2015. They FINALLY called me on April 20, 2015 to tell me that the order had never been placed. At this time, I told them Id prefer a refund to ordering the jewelry at this time!!! Well, its June 26, 2015, and Im still fighting to get a full refund. They offered to re-order the jewelry, but I declined as at this point, they are not trustworthy to do any kind of business with!!!! No Jewelry! No Refund! No Way to do Business! For those of you interested in buying BVLA Jewelry, just ask your piercer to open an account with them. Do NOT believe that 713 is the only shop in Houston that can get it for you because I verified with BVLA personally that is NOT the case.
