I was excited to actually try the Georgetown Winery till I got there. 2 people on a Saturday afternoon doing all the tastings, sales, packing and snacks. Far to understaffed. The worst though...was the wine. Of the 4 wines tasted each one was worse than the last. The Blackberry tasted as though someone took childrens grape juice, added sugar and alcohol. The Blush was a combination of Boonhill and a jolly rancher. The pinot noir was liquid smoke with a hint of dry red. Great for marinating but horrible for drinking. The PB&J was the WORST. Alcoholic rotting jam. It took 5 minutes and a bottle of water to clear the taste. There are amazing wineries in Texas...this is NOT one of them. Pass up this experience.

I took my family here. They drove all the way from Michigan and we ventured to Georgetown to see the cavern and thought wed follow that up with wine. Upon arrival to the "winery", we were welcomed by an extremely rude lady (to put it nicely) behind the bar. I was immediately turned off by the atmosphere. A place called a "winery" should actually make their own wine especially if they want to be rude and snooty like the tool from Tool in Blood Into Wine. What real winery tries to charge $8 to sample 3 wines? Oh wait...the souvenir glass is so worth it.

I love to drink wine so it is hard for me to complain about any place that serves it. I love that they serve it on the square...however.....the female that works there right now, her hair is brown these days I noticed...Oct/Nov 2010 is RUDE by all southern standards...is she an owner? is she wife of an owner? I hope she sees this review because I took a gf in there that flew 1700 miles to get some southern hospitality and it was embarrassing the quality of service we got.

We are at the winery every week. The reasons are many. The atmosphere is perfect. Welcoming, friendly, attentive (with out being pushy). We love so many of the wines! Our absolute favorite is the Tempranillo it is one of the best wines we have ever had. We recommend the winery to anyone who will listen. We have met several people there because it is such a friendly place.

I received wine from Georgetown Winery as a gift and LOVED it! Since then I have ordered some for myself as well as sent some to my family in South Texas as a gift. Now my family has also fallen in LOVE! They recently traveled up from Harlingen to pick up Jalapeno Wine for their Thanksgiving feast. I am excited about my next order. Thanks Dan and Becca!

youve got to be kidding with this swill. This place is awful, I expect the wine initiative coming to this little town should give the good people of Georgetown a taste of how real wines should taste. Dont bother with this place if youre out and want a good glass of wine, its not to be found here.

Reasonably priced wine. Live music on friday nights. Aside from wine, they also sell cute accessories associated with wine. The staff are really friendly as well.
