THE COMPANY YOU KEEP! Not for people of color Called this place and located a part for a pretty reasonable price. As I waited for parts to be removed from the donor car they had 2 guys (1 a painter, the other a concrete guy) who came in and appeared to be at home since they knew everyone there except each other. While waiting in the lobby for my part a worker fired up a cig at his desk so I decided to go outside to avoid the smoke. While outside the painter came out too and went to a older white 90s Ford panel van. As he passed I said "How are you doing" and decided to insult me by asking me what kind of day I was having through the reference of "When yall used to pick cotton back in the day yall used to describe your day as high or low to midland so I guess Im feeling high to midland today". I looked at him in disgust and replied "What would make you even say something like that". He responded with a smile "I felt you would understand how I feel today if I said that since they taught yall that at school". He then says "Make sure you stay out of trouble down here.......". Before he could say anything else one of the employees came to the door an informed me he had the part I requested and wanted to make sure it looked good before I left with it. Looked at the painter, shook my head then went in the building to look at the parts. Didnt say anything to anyone because they all appeared to be buddies and I figured the police would of been called and a story adverse to the one which would/could of been created by person who started it. I know a business MIGHT have little to do with the customers who come in but my God this is 2017 and people should not have to deal with racist @$$ comments like that. Again the people here seemed cool less the guy behind the counter who didnt even look at me as he accepted my money and the guy who made the comment outside. I would of got a refund and went elsewhere but you have to pay them BEFORE they take the part off and from what I could tell there are NO CASH REFUNDS so I just took the part. Neither of the 2 guys were paying customers at least not that day and both were simply stopping by to say hi to the people who work there. I played it cool as I left but I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. Hey I cant tell you what to do, draw your on conclusions but Ill leave you with this. Show me 5 of your friends and I will show you who you are since we are all the avg of the people we associate with.

Im floored! Ive been to several bone yards in my life, and the experience has been horriffic at each one. When I was on the hunt for a part for my VW I searched last night, came across Carters in Plano & boy was I not surprised to see the numerous irate customers who posted reviews, dreaded having to go there even though they were the closest. I thank the man upstairs... they didnt have any parts of VW (THANK YOU CARTERS!) So I ended up eventually calling Chaparral. From the first contact via phone (Richard), I was treated with a friendly helpful person who was very patient with me while I had to call back to make sure exactly which part I needed, to the moment I walked in the door. Im sorry MLady who greeted me, I do not recall your name, very nice and welcoming! Bumped into Bill who was engaging and asked me how Ive been. Richard expedited getting my part, to ringing it up. He was also very engaging, friendly and a silly smart@ss... Loved it. You all will always have my call come first to you. If I every know anyone looking for a salvaged part, youll be the first on my lips. You were very worth the 10 - 20 difference in drive time! Kudos to you folks. WELL WELL DONE!!!

These people tried to rob me. I called them and told them I was interested in scraping my Toyota, and they asked me to bring it on down. I get there, I fill out the paperwork, and the guy just takes my title and key, says "thank you" as if Im donating it, and was about to walk off. We stop him like "um hey, we havent discussed pricing." Then he acts all surprised like "oh, did we talk on the phone?" Yes hunny, as a matter of fact we did. Offers me $100 for a still-running car. $100. Obviously I refused. Do NOT do business with these people. They WILL try to rob you, especially if youre a young woman like myself.

The laziest most dishonest salvage yard to ever be open. Guy that answers the phone tells me they are open until 1pm on Saturdays and when I showed up at 12:35pm tells me "sorry your too late" I asked why he says "the car is all the way in the back of the yard". So his lazy a** refused to honor his word over the phone and makes me waste both my gas and time. I will never ever refer them to anyone for any business. They dont even deserve a single star. I even offered to pull the part myself and he refused to let me in. 1-21-17

NEVER ORDER PARTS FROM THEM AGAIN.. THEY SHIPPED ME A INCORRECT PART, AND THE SALESMAN EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IT WAS HIS FAULT, AND THEY STILL CHARGED ME 25 BUCKS FOR THE SHIPPING AND I HAD TO PAY 25 BUCKS TO SHIP IT BACK.. i could understand if i made a mistake, but when the company is at fault, and sends you the wrong part they should be liable to fix this mistake...

My car is a 2000 Honda Civic and I tryied to sell it it is in mostly good condition it just wont start and they offered 50 bucks that sucks I got offered 176 every where else. The are frad or just to laze to ask me more about my car.
