Came here passing through 4th Street one Saturday and wondered why I had never been to Markets rooftop. It was short lived detour, however. The rooftop is nice and has some good views, but the seating layout is not conducive to sitting while people are trying to dance, which is what was happening. You either have to go sit along the rail or in a corner and that can get awkward and uncomfortable fast. Also, as people in Austin seem to lack consideration or appropriate spacial reasoning, attempting to dance here (the songs they were playing were definitely booty-shaking worthy) was "do so at your own risk" as I almost got elbowed in the face, my open-toed feet stepped on, and some drink spilled on me more than once in the 10-15min interval my date and I tried to dance/leave. The downstairs indoor portion looked much more tame and should I decide to return, thats where I would go instead of the rooftop.

The market and tap room had alot to offer. there Is a good sized main area, a small loft above the main bar, and a good rooftop bar to hangout. There is also the tap room, to the right of the main bar. It is a great second spot for those that want a more relaxed, cozy ,low light option. Upstairs in the tap room them have a chill space with video consoles. A good spot for some games and chill time. Below, where there is an additional bar with some bar games and seating. I like that the offer essentially three different atmospheres, and this helps to cater to different crowds and meetup gatherings. Perfect for networking, socializing, and just enjoy a laid back spot. I would recommend checking them out. Try a weeknight for a few bevs or plan a group gathering there.

I guess its an okay bar but trying to get my credit card back from this place is like pulling teeth. I knew the night I lost it that they had it behind the bar, and they repeatedly denied having it and let me write down my name and number. Crickets for days. I called a couple days later during business hours. No answer. Left a message. A week and a half later, I got a call saying they had my card. I came in the next day to get it and they claimed they were too busy to get it for me, and could I come back in two hours. I couldnt, so I came back today and Ive been sitting here waiting for ten minutes. I honestly didnt expect to be here long enough to write this review but here I am. Not a huge fan of this place right now this is so inconvenient.

The bartender dropped my friends credit card in the trash behind the bar and without looking for it, she threw her hands up and said " I dont know what to tell you, its lost, Im sorry". If we didnt repeatedly demand to speak to a manager they would have left my friend SOL who was in town for SXSW. To top it off, the manager tried to play down the situation and act like it wasnt a big deal. Ive worked in the service industry for a long time and have seen people lose their jobs over these types of situations.

Love this place! Jaeger root beer on tap is my go to drink every time. Theyve done a great job making the space more open and welcoming. When the bar gets crowded, the tap room is a great getaway to play some vintage video games or a nice game of cards against humanity. Their rooftop is also one of the best in town. Pair that with the rocking chairs, this is a great place for an after work happy hour.

Ive been going to this place for years, back when it used to be called 6 Lounge. Its the same owners, I think, and they do a really great job. Its a great place to have a networking group because there are three levels, and a rooftop deck. There are bars on two of the levels, and like I said, the staff always takes great care of you.

Tried ordering the Market Whiskey Sour by asking for a whiskey sour, but got a regular whiskey sour (sans egg whites) instead. But the staff were gracious and remade my drink while informing me to next time ask for the "Market Whiskey Sour" next time. Ill offer this advice to future patrons along with my recommendation.

Great venue for our social meet ups. There is a lot of room for the largest or the smallest crowds. On a cool night you can enjoy the roof top views or on a bad weather day there is everything from the upstairs lounge all the way down to the basement. Great drinks and beer in a comfortable atmosphere.

One of the best rooftops in Austin. Bartenders always nice. Atmosphere is super chill. Couches and big chairs everywhere inside. If you want a chill bar, youve found your place. 4th is a nice break from the 6th craziness and if youre looking for a place thats more of a professionals hangout this is it.

Awesome rooftop bar downtown! This place is huge. I was here for a SXSW party and plenty of room to stretch out. Drinks are well made and they have a relationship with a nearby kitchen for food. Just need to ask about hours and menu. Great for watching downtown parades that "float" by on 4th street.

I seem to only come here for sxsw events but as thats the case, I typically have good memories here. The various levels and arrangements of rooms makes for a dynamic experience and the staff (even aside from the sxsw product models) is pretty good. The roof can get pretty smokey and ghetto.

I came here for a networking event. Service was great despite the crowd. The bar is two stories with a loft between and the second story is an open deck. Parking might be tricky since its downtown but theres a $6 lot across 4th st.

The Market (formerly Six Lounge) offers one of the nicest rooftop patios for downtown bar-goers overlooking the intersection of 4th and Colorado. Multiple levels and bars keep it from ever feeling overly crowded.

a nice bar , their main room is slightly small , their choices are decent. I dont have much experience on bars but I cant say the staff was friendly and not argumentative. This bar is worth checking out.

Great atmosphere, great mix of 3 different clubs, really. The roof is amazing, but the only downside is that it is too popular right now with crowds and long lines. Add another bartender downstairs!

Had a great stop on a busy Saturday upstairs. Couches and outdoor roof were nice even on a hot day. Drinks were cheap and bartender very friendly. Worth your time.

Decent. Nice staff. Has great rooftop bar, average first floor bar... Only cans up top on le roof and the usual liquor... stiffness depends on bartender.

This is an incredible venue with three bar sections and a great atmosphere. The rooftop area has an amazing view and is great for lounging.

Friendly staff and good beer. This space has a fun, cultured atmosphere. Video games (Nintendo 64 and Wii) and booze go great together.

Sweet view from the rooftop. Bar tenders are always in a great mood and the live music is on point!
