Thank goodness for Petticoat Fair. Like a lot of women my age, Id been shopping at Victorias Secret for years, not ever really realizing just how poorly my bras were fitting because Id never experienced anything else. A friend had been telling me for months how much I was missing because Id never been to Petticoat Fair, and a little over a year ago I finally let her drag me along. Well, she made a convert that day. My friend insisted on buying me a few bras as a holiday gift, and they are easily the best fitting bras Ive ever worn. Unlike at most lingerie stores Id been to, you dont browse the racks at Petticoat Fair- a staff member takes your measurements in a private fitting room, talks to you about what youre looking for in a bra, and then brings out several bras of various brands which might be a good match. Of course, not everything will fit like a glove, but the employees here offer great feedback about how your bra should fit (because a lot of women really dont have a great idea of what to look for) and what flatters you. I told them that good support was the most important criteria I was looking for, but that I also wanted something pretty, girly, and maybe even a little sexy if possible. I didnt think this was possible- most bras in my (rather large) size tend to be rather matronly, a fact that has always baffled me. Why wouldnt larger-breasted girls want the same cute details as everyone else? Petticoat Fair finds absolutely gorgeous, flattering bras in a range of sizes. I got a few lacy styles, a patterned style, even a bustier-style bra that somehow still looks great under clothes. Yes, the prices here are higher than at the mall stores- but, as Ive found out, good bras make every outfit look better fitted and higher quality. To me, the bras here are worth every cent. The customer service is professional yet friendly, and they even make the sometimes-embarrassing process of bra fitting feel relaxed. Petticoat Fair also sells a moderately-sized selection of lingerie, sleepwear, and swim styles. Unfortunately, while Im sure these products of a high quality, most of them arent particularly trendy and feel like theyre geared towards women older than myself. For the bras, though, theyve made a loyal customer. Now Im the one telling my friends about this place and turning them onto it as well!

So, revising my review after having worn one of the bras I bought for an extended period of time. When I went in to purchase these, I gave the sales girl my measurements before being fitted, and was informed that I should go down from a 32 to a 30 band. When trying on one of the bras, I noticed it felt incredibly tight around the waist - not uncomfortable, but it felt like it might be a problem. I brought this up with the sales girl and was told "the waist band should feel really snug". Given, Ive had issues getting properly fitted before, the cup fit was perfect so I figured she must know more than I did. It should be noted that I find it incredibly difficult to get a good idea of the comfort level of a bra long-term, as Ive never had a really good fitting bra - this wasnt something that I would have known in-store. After wearing the bra for an extended period of time (more than a few hours) I started feeling some mild discomfort around my ribs. When I got home, I found that the bra had left deep impressions around my entire underbust, and what felt like (but couldnt see) some minor skin abrasions along the right side. I had thought getting good service would be an okay sacrifice for the price, but Im finding out otherwise. I now have a $70 bra I can do nothing with (and most likely cant get refunded), and another bra to take back. Im incredibly disheartened by this, as it seemed like such a great store, but Im not going to pay extra money for service if its crappy- especially when I can buy the SAME bras for cheaper online. Ill update my review on the refund process after I go. Update: They took the bras and I was able to exchange them (including the one I took the tag off; I had the tag with me though). I asked for a larger waistband and when queried about cup size, I asked to keep the cup size the same. I got home and promptly cut the tags off without checking the sizing, and Im fairly upset at myself for not doing so. The woman at the front desk went down in cup size along with waist size after I asked her not to. Im not even bothering attempting to return these at this point. Dont bother going here. The staff think they know best even when you specify otherwise. They really dont. :

I was referred to Petticoat Fair by my plastic surgeon after I had difficulty finding large-size bras at other stores. I have had countless professional fittings in my life, but most stores just dont carry my size. I went to go check it out and just see what kinds of bras they had. Instead of just browsing, you have to make an appointment, sit there for half an hour until someones free, and then they push you in a dressing room and measure you and start bringing bras out that THEY like. They refuse to listen to your comments when you say that you dont like what they bring, and you then have to convince them of why you think theyre crappy when they disagree with you. They also stand guard outside your curtained fitting room and barge in whenever they feel like it, whether youre dressed or not. They then just reach right out and start molding your boobs in their hands to make them fit the bra, making you bounce up and down in front of them and wiggling your boobs around with their hands without giving you any warning. When I told the saleslady not to do that, she called her manager, who then came over and did the EXACT SAME THING. I was there for two hours, and only found three semi-acceptable bras, of all different sizes - everything from a 34D to a 34G. Thats ridiculous. I ended up buying one sports bra and then returning it because I didnt want them to have my service. Once I got out of the store the first time, I just went to my car and cried. When I returned the bra, I gave the manager on duty a tongue-lashing and the only thing shed say is, "Would you like to try again?" NO WAY, LADY!!! I will NEVER, EVER go back here. Beyond inappropriate and uncomfortable. I dont care if I never have a decent-fitting bra. Its better than being manhandled by pushy ladies selling ugly bras. I just wish there was a way to give them a negative rating. Maybe -5 stars?

I have purchased bras from this store on 2 occasions, and I regret every dime Ive ever spent there. I like the way they measure and fit you each time you come in. This part of the shopping experience is great. The problem I have with this place is that they are charging a premium price for very low quality products. I have had better luck with Bras from Target for a third of the price. The 1st set of bras I got were coming apart after only 2 months. The underwire started poking through and stabbing me in the chest. This was clearly outside of the return policy so I accepted defeat and made sure not to get this model again. I went back last week and tried again. I got 3 bras for a total of $200.10 after tax. A week later the underwire is coming out of one of the bras, and another has spiky plastic thread that makes extended wear impossible. Naturally after my 1st experience I think that its best to cut my losses and return them. I spoke to the manager who denied my return request because the 1 bra had been worn and the other 2 had the tags removed. It had been exactly 7 days. She did tell me that she was sorry that the bras were falling apart and filed the plastic string down. She wasnt concerned with the fact that I was unhappy, and was trying to tell me I washed them wrong. I had only worn one bra one time and had not washed them yet, so that was extremely rude and irritating. I will not be going back and I would caution you to keep your money and shop else where, too.
