Last week, I was traveling with my two young daughters pulling our vintage camper for a week of camping at the beach. Before we ever made it outside of Austin, one of the tires on the trailer was noticeably dangerous. After getting the bad tire off and attempting to put the spare on, I quickly saw the five holes on the new spare did not line up with the wheel. I took the old tire with rim and the new spare and rim to Discount Tire hoping the new spare tire could be easily mounted on the old rim. I was greeted by AJ who listened attentively to understand my predicament and he quickly said, "Lets take a look!" He told me mounting the new tire on the old rim wouldnt be an issue but there would be an approximate hour and a half wait. He also understood this surprise tire issue had already created a 2 hour set back in our travel schedule and that traveling with 2 young girls, speeding things along would be super helpful. He proactively tapped a technician on the shoulder and within 5 minutes, the new tire was mounted on the old rim and I was sent on my way. AJ is a consummate professional with exceptional listening skills and an understanding of customer needs. With someone like AJ as the first touch point a customer has with this store, you can bet customers will return time and time again. I appreciated his help SO much and will always return to this store. AJ, thank you!! You far exceeded my expectations and turned an otherwise stressful start to our vacation around and ensured we could get back on the road ASAP.

Brandon I know you are just doing your job... scam. Goodyear stores started spreading this pseudo science about tires and fish tailing 20 years ago to try and get people to leave their tires on the rear so that they would last longer and never have any warranty concerns. It also saves them a boat load of come-backs because youll never know if the new tires got balanced properly because you cant feel a sloppy balance job on the back so you wont find out until much later when they can blame it on something else. ALWAYS put your new tires on the front! 35 years as a real mechanic. Wow, many people here have never tried to pass someone in the rain with front wheel drive and poor tires. When youre hydroplaning at 70 mph with no steering, or understeering through a decreasing radius turn straight into a barrier wall, you might change your mind. Also, if you paid attention to this crap and always had your best tires on the front, you would never be able to rotate them since the fronts always wear more rapidly. This would cause rapid uneven wear and mean that you would have to buy tires almost twice as often, another reason tire manufacturers are pushing this nonsense. Brandon next time do as I tell you and dont worry about my safety.

Terrible. First day waited 2 hours in line to get options on tires and immediatly tried selling me up to the most expensive staggered tires. then came back a couple days later to stand in line another couple hours to get the new tires and the wait time was an hour over the hour they told me it would be to get them on. finally got my car back with no apology and my tire light still on. i took it back same day and the guy told me its a 24 hour reset. Went back 48 hours later to get it checked out when it was still on and to pick up my old tires.... they found nothing wrong with my tire pressure system or tires and tire light is still on and flashing wildly now. and they couldnt find my tires so told me come back for them after waiting another hour at least that day. call a few days later to find out they sold the tires or threw them out. oh and tire light is STILL on and flashing. horribly regret giving this location my money. would trade their noisey tires back for my money in a heartbeat. wish this awful experience was shorter so everyone could read this and avoid this place altogether. Go anywhere else and any other location if you needs tires or maintenance.

I had a flat tire and drove into Discount Tire at 4:50 or so. There was about an 8 person line and the waiting room was full. By the time that I got to the counter it was 5:05 (maybe earlier) - everybody was working very efficiently. The representative walked with me to my car and measured the tread left on all of my tires. He advised me that my 2 front tires would have to be changed relatively soon, but there was no sales pressure. He took my keys and I left to go get some dinner. By the time I got back at 6, my car was ready and they told me they found a screw in one of the tires and took care of it. I asked where I could pay but to my surprise there was no charge for patching the tire. The mechanic handing me my car keys was smiling, and they were still taking in cars for tire repairs. Come to think of it, it was the same mechanic that changed my other cars tires 2 years ago. I am definitely returning to Discount Tire again. While waiting in line I found out that they can also call or email you when your tires need rotating.

Very courteous and charismatic clerks, ahem, salesmen. My experience here is consistently rapid-fire and pleasant. That being said, it definitely feels like a salesmen/ client experience. As that is what it is, no problem. I just need to drink my Starbucks and be on top of my negotiating game when I need a new tire because there is always an attempt at up sell and some negotiating to get there. If I refuse an offer there is a consistent counter-offer and I always leave wondering if I left with the best deal possible. As the salesmen are all good at what they do, I normally leave with more than I came in wanting. I like that they are able to see my history (probably gives them a secret sucker rating) when I give them my phone number so that I dont have to hold onto receipts in order to track guarantees that I have bought for tires. I never feel that I have to wait an excessive amount of time for the work that I get done and the salesmen are forthright and honest.

This place rocks! I went in to purchase two tires and realized I only needed one as the prior owner of my car had already put a new one on the back. Discount tire recommended I upgrade from the el-cheepo one tire I was going to purchase and spend another $10.00 to match the brand of the good tire, and then because the tire was in such good shape they offered to give me the $13.00 free replacement road hazzard warranty and apply it to the new tire I was buying AND the tire that was already on the car that I had not even purchase from them! I had an appointment at 11:15 and this appointment time was honored and I was moved ahead of the other 10 people that had not made an appointment and I was out of there in 45 minutes flat during the lunch hour. Very friendly and curteous and professional staff including the worker bees that changed the tire. They will definitley get my business again when I go back to buy the two front tires!
