I search for a place to get my first tattoo in memory of my mother. I have been very nervous and asking everyone that has tattoos about theirs and getting advise. I read nothing but good comments on here about Blackbird. I called and spoke that Katie which made me very comfortable and she advised me to come in and she will help me with finding someone that fits my personality and what I wanted. I went and met her and spoke to Ben. He explained the whole tattoo process to me and I felt very comfortable with him I brought my drawing by there on the following Monday and scheduled an appointment for the next Friday night. All week I was looking forward to this new journey in my life honoring my mother. Me and my husband get there on time and found out that Ben was running late which was fine just we didnt understand how they didnt know how long the tattoo before me would take so we ended up having to come back twice that night and finally I we arrived were told that he was done. I had already filled out the paperwork but didnt mark some of the information because I havent been counselled on all of it the man behind the desk called upstairs and this person "shannon" which is a part owner came down and basically undressed me because I didnt mark the 2 places on the paperwork I agreed with her and told her fine just no one had gone over any of this with me nor given me any care instructions. When she left she slammed the door so hard that it shook the whole wall. At that point I was done this person was the rudest person that I have ever come in counter with. I advise NO ONE TO GO THERE!!! THEY HAVE LOST SIGHT ON THE FACT THAT SOME PEOPLE GET TATTOOS FOR PERSONAL AND EMOTIONAL REASONS!!! LIKE ME!!

Booked an appointment after reading some good reviews on here. When I arrived, I sat in the waiting room for about 15 minutes because my artist was out back smoking...started walking around and eventually found him. My experience continued to be one of constant smoke breaks, which took about 30 minutes out of my experience (on top of my waiting). I was there for 3.5 hours but was only tattooed for probably a little over 2.5 hours. I was charged for 3.5 hours, and still tipped on top of this. Instead of giving me change my artist asked if he could keep the $500 I gave him and said that would carry over for my next appointment. Im the idiot who trusted him, oh well. Just sharing the experience-- the work was fine, just not impressed with the business practices as a business owner myself.

My wife and I got tattoos here and they did a good job on them. We are very happy with the outcome. However the shop is a little run down and dirty. Also, our tattoo artist wasnt as professional as we were expecting with all of the good reviews. Like I said, they do good work and we are happy with our tattoos, the shop just needs updating and we were hoping for a more professional and clean experience.

I had some reservations about getting my tattoo done here. This place doesnt look like much from the outside but in my experience the artists here are nothing but professional. My tattoo artist was attentive, informative and had a calming manner. Not to mention, he did an outstanding job. Ill definitely be back.
