AVOID THIS STORE! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NON EXISTENT!! I made an appointment today for 1pm, to get my dog fully (bath, haircut, nails trimmed, the whole 9 yards) groomed. This was my first, LAST, & only experience with Petco, & I along with my mother-in-law, aunts, uncles, cousins, & friends, will NEVER do business with Petco again. I arrived a little before 1pm, & the young man working in grooming was adamant that my appointment was at 12 noon. I argued with him that it was impossible because I was at church & I would have never made any appointments at noon on a Sunday. I also explained that my mother-in-law lives 45 minutes away from the location (I also informed him I dont live in the area & am from Illinois), so there was no way for me to have arrived by noon. He told us (my mother-in-law was with me) that they had several new employees & they could have entered information into the computer incorrectly. I told him none of that was my issue as a customer, & that was a Petco issue. I said it was not my responsibility to ensure employees were property trained, & I wanted him & Petco to fix my problem immediately, by fulfilling my appointment. He said all he could do was reschedule. My mother-in-law & I were both very agitated, & he said he would go get a manager. When the manager arrived his tone of voice & attitude were very rude & disrespectful. He put it across that it was all my fault & he couldnt help it if I didnt know how to keep track of appointments. Neither employee offered any sort of apology, & the manager offered nothing to appease my inconvenience. I informed him I would be contacting corporate (I just got off the phone with an EXCELLENT associate that apologized MULTIPLE times) & I would be leaving bad reviews & feedback on Facebook & Google. He said he didnt care & unless I wanted to reschedule there was nothing else he could do for me. We promptly left. I am awaiting a call back from managers at corporate, but I will NEVER be doing business with this or any other location of Petco.

The service is absolutely horrible. I have tried for two weeks to schedule a grooming appointment. They never seem to have enough employees working. The last time that I tried to call they stated that they did not have enough staff to man the grooming area full-time and therefore were closing two hours early each night. I am hoping and praying that one of the big box stores will come in and compete with them directly. Maybe then they will try to make themselves halfway worthwhile. It is really shameful that the only way that you can get good service is to go to another city. I am not one to normally leave comments, so for me to leave this, lets you know that I have reached my last ounce of reserve and patience. I have had many other complaints with the store. I have kept them all to myself. This last incident has pushed me over the edge. I truly believe that there MUST be a management problem at this store. It is unfortunate for me, that there is only one store presently in this city. I can only hope that that will be corrected soon.

I signed up for the "Canine Good Citizen" program for $300. Complete waste of money. Was told to hurry up and decide because the class was full......when I got to the 1st class, there was only 3 of us. My 100lb German Shepherd was placed in a class of puppies who werent even potty trained yet. My dog was 18 months old and way beyond this point. .........I wasted a Saturday for an hour listening to how to potty train and crate train. So then I switched to another class.....same thing. The third class I went to was a little better....I got 30 minutes of one on one training but was told the trainer was going on vacation for 2 weeks so there would be no class. Then the trainer was out after that for 3 weeks due to a medical issue. I have never gone back after that.......they sure didnt care......the trainer never called to see if we were coming back. So basically I got 1 class for 30 minutes for $300. They had no problem charging my credit card!! I have never taken the time to write a review but felt I should share MY experience!!

I dont know what all these people are complaining about. I was just in Petco the other day and there were a couple of very helpful employees that pointed me in the right direction and asked me at least a couple of times if they could help me with anything. Maybe Petco has simply hired new employees since those other reviews were written, but since I know that sometimes a competitor will write bad reviews for a company, I thought Id share my experience and help bring their rating up. Ive never had a problem with Petco. They are as nice and helpful as any other store Ive visited. And, as far as Im aware, they have the largest selection of pet supplies in our town. Prices are higher than Wal-mart, but thats true for every store since Walmart owns the whole world and all the products in it (well, just kidding, but you get my drift.) Anyway, Petco is cool by me.

I buy everything for my pets here I spend almost 200 a month here. I have 12 piranha 1cat and 4green terrors. I am in there atleast once a week and every single time I have been there I have had excellent service everyone there has been extremely helpful and very nice. The dog trainer there I think is the coolest he normally there everytime I go and I talk to him almost everytime he has always been the best I think. He trains the dogs there almost perfect he is the best of the best. And the groomers there have alway do a almost near perfect job with our dogs when we had them so for the other post I think your completely wrong.

My boyfriend bought me a snake from the petco in Cleveland. The snake started out having some shedding problems so we continously made trips to the store asking them what we could do. Every time we went we bought new products that they insisted would help. Nothing helped and eventually the snaked died. It had all the symptoms of IBD. We got in touch with the district manager informing him as to what happened. His answer "I could do something about it, but Im not going to." Other people have informed me they also had animals die from that petco.

Terrible grooming experience. I wont be taking her back ever again. They told me to bring her at 2pm for her hair appointment... they didnt call me to pick her up until 7pm. 5 hours! And her appointment was at 2?! They have absolutely no quality customer service. They didnt bring her out when she was done with her collar and leash. After the woman questioned whether or not I brought her in with a collar and leash, she went to the back and brought it out covered in hair as if it had come out of the trash.

Purchased a puppy training class and was told I would be contacted by the trainer for a meeting to see what class my puppy would fit in. After a couple weeks not hearing anything, I came in and addressed the manager to which he replied he couldnt do anything without the original papers (even though they have a copy of the registration). Since nearly a month had passed and I trusted them to be legitimate, I didnt hold on to my receipt. So now I am out $100 because they couldnt give me a call.
