AN AMAZING BUSINESS INDEED This place is not your typical computer store. Unlike other stores, left and forgotten until they are needed again, this place is difficult to leave right away and certainly difficult to forget. When you step across the threshold, like Alice, you find yourself immersed in a wondrous land. A world that has no place for drab colors and cold corporate structure resulting from years of retail calculations and marketing research. You instead find a world of vivid color, born of imagination, a place of fun and excitement and wondrous things. You might even feel like youve walked into your own family room, expecting to see your kid sister nailing tricky guitar riffs on the big screen or your nephew fighting off the denizens of a floating city impacted by scientific research gone awry. You just know this is a place where you can relax and enjoy yourself. At the end of the day, the sun goes over the horizon indicating the time to depart is quickly approaching. The lights stay lit for a bit longer until that dreaded call goes out, "Its time to close up shop." You reluctantly get up to leave, but Unlike Alice when she left that strange land, you step across the threshold knowing you will be back again.

Although I no longer live in the area, they served me well for many years. For repairs, they actually know about computers, repairs, and hardware compatibility. Unlike competitors, theyll fix it themselves instead of escalating the problem to the computer manufacturer (has happened many times to people I know when trying their luck with Best Buy). Theyre quick to diagnose problems, and offer affordable solutions. As far as building goes, theyll be able to build whatever desktop you need with only a marginal overhead fee for construction and profit margin outside of paying for the physical hardware. As far as gaming goes, the day passes are a great deal for trying out the many games on their systems, but if you plan to play there often, youre better off investing in getting them to build you your own rig. Also, the staff is cool as hell.

Last year I was directed by Best Buy to this store to see if they could help my Macbook. Unfortunately they couldnt because milk had spilled onto it and it had completely fried everything inside. Nothing could be saved. I was thankful they were authorized to service Apple products so that I did not have to drive to Augusta or Charlotte or leave it at Best Buy and wait a week or two to find out the outcome. I was able to drive straight back to Best Buy to purchase a new Mac. I knew that I had been given a truthful answer and was very satisfied that they were knowledgable and knew my only alternative was to give up on the "spilt milk" one. They did everything while I waited and did not charge me one dime. Very good customer service, I have now referred several people to them.

That Computer Store is a solid hangout spot. The atmosphere is great; snacks and drinks are available; computers are well serviced and up to date with the latest games, and the employees are all around great guys always willing to help out. Theres a Bellacinos and a Catch 22 next door for food should you spend your day there. Repairs here are fast and extensive. That Computer Store will fix whatever you bring in to the best of its capability and explain any problems or hangups in Lamens terms. The only thing that keeps this place from getting 5 stars is that prices can get a little steep sometimes, but in this case its just the price you pay for the best local service.

They had excellent staff in person, but I dropped off my computer for an overheating problem, didnt have to order any parts, but it took a week. Also I received no updates until I called, received updates that entire day and then none after. When I got my computer back the keyboard wasnt put back in place properly and was lifted in the corner. Now I have to open it up and put it in place. I want to love this place so bad, but its hard when the service is sub par.

This store is the best! Great knowledge, great service, great folks all around. The suggestions will save you so much time and money. They are a business, but so often they are willing to help you perform whatever is in your realm of ability. My youngest daughter recently went in and was able to salvage a virus ridden computer on her own with just the advice. She is the third daughter to use this store. In a word...they ROCK!

Their store is a pillar within the Hobby and Geek community within the Irmo/Harbison area. Joined in on a launch party being held here a few months back (WoD) and my friends and I all agree that it was absolutely awesome. Wonderful atmosphere with staff that was more than willing to guarantee a successful evening. Strong computer builds, hard-to-find snacks and drinks (Bawls energy drinks, anyone?), a plethora of games to choose from, and reasonable rates. Highly recommend and will be going back!

When youre looking for a place that not only does good and reliable work in a timely fashion, but also cares about your situation as a person with financial obligations in our current state of economy, then this is the store to go to. That Computer Stores employees are honest, considerate, and also a hoot to talk to. Keep them on your speed dial, GPS quick pick, and tabbed on your google chrome. ^.^

These guys arent like the computer gurus at the big retail stores wholl shrug their shoulders and say the best fix is to buy a new laptop. Instead, theyll troubleshoot the problem -- taking the laptop apart literally piece by piece -- until they can come up with a fix. Service is fast, friendly and reasonable.

Laptop was running extremely slow. They quickly went through many items and figured out that the software from an external hard drive was using up all memory. Found hidden files to allow a uninstall. Cleaned a few more items up and laptop works perfectly again. Excellent service!

I came here for a 2.5 hard drive enclosure that only cost $25.00 and they installed the hard drive in the enclosure and checked to make sure it worked. WOW! Dont try that at Best Buy.
