I used to shop at this location every night, as they are the only grocer open from 11 pm until midnight on the south end, and at other times I would go out of my way to shop here and pay a little more, just to see the cashiers who are some of the best and friendliest people on the island. But if you do shop here be careful to check expiration dates, because I have bought frozen food here that had expired more than 6 months before. The last way you want to begin your vacation is with food poisoning. Most expensive on the island. Really adds up if you are stocking up for a week of vacation. I used to spend an awful lot of money here, because again the cashiers are the greatest, and I kind of felt sorry for them because they dont get much business, and the parking lot is usually empty, but I drive a taxi late night, and as usual one night recently I spent an awful lot of money right before they closed at midnight , and I was exhausted and didnt think it was safe to drive, so I decided to take a short nap in the back of my taxi van. Well, I slept longer than I intended, and woke up to law enforcement pounding on my window. So after spending considerable time with a couple of deputies in the completely empty parking lot, as they ran checks on my license, registration, etc etc. Eventually the deputies told me that the manager had called the police, and the manager confirmed that I was a regular customer, so the manager did me the favor of not pressing trespassing charges "as he usually does", for simply being parked in an empty parking lot. So I suppose that I should be grateful, l but Im not. Ive never had anything like that happen to me anywhere. Taxi vans park in all of the parking lots on the south end all night. Thats how we keep the drunks off the road, and keep the tourists from being killed. There is no good reason to shop here, which is why I was one of the few customers they had anyway. But if you do, and I wouldnt recommend it, get the hell out of the parking lot as soon as possible, because its an hour ride to the county jail. Kroger recently purchased the Harris Teeter chain, and I think that most people assumed that this location would be closed due to its proximity to the new mid island Kroger, particularly since it cant be very profitable if it is even profitable at all, despite having arguably the best location on the island. Im guessing that it remains open only to prevent a strong competitor from moving in that would give the mid island Kroger a run for their money. Because the vast majority of tourists stay on the south end of the island, so nobody would drive all the way to Kroger if there was a good alternative at the Harris Teeter location. So it should come as no surprise that when you remove the profit motive and have a lame duck business like this, at such a crucial and visible location, that the whole community is going to suffer. The whole community relies on tourism one way or another, and the last thing we need is to have a visitor who saved all year for perhaps their only week of vacation, and chose to spend their money here, to end up spending their week in the Beaufort County Jail for something that no reasonable person could expect was a crime. Its not only horribly wrong, but its that kind of word of mouth that could destroy the towns reputation for hospitality that has taken decades and millions of dollars to establish. You just cant allow an unethical, hostile business like this to exist here, they just arent a good fit for the community. Its time for the town to revoke their business license and wish them farewell.

We usually get our groceries here while visiting Hilton Head during the summers. The place is always well maintained and staffed. It can get very busy on Saturdays, but thats a testament to the store itself (and the popularity of Hilton Head). This past year we ordered our groceries online and picked them up outside the store. The process was pretty smooth and while they made a few mistakes with the items, it was all minor issues (jelly instead of jam, etc). The have the BEST chocolate chip cookies. Im only giving them 4 stars instead of 5 because they do not yet have the ability to pay via Android/Apple phones yet. Being at the beach, I rarely have my wallet and Ive ran in to get something once or twice and not been able to pay (not their fault, but a lot of the other grocery stores have this and they dont).

Ive never seen it take someone more than 10 minutes to open a package of cheese. However tonight at the deli, thats the level of service I wish I had been expecting. A very frustrating wait while waiting for them to write happy birthday on a cake. Several people seemingly busy maintaining the 100% sanitation rating. Very few capable of providing service. Then I get sent out the door without the bag with the candles and forks. Hotel made up for it, but frustrating none the less.

Nice and friendly staff....Very helpful. Great deals! Offer an variety of items. Nice and clean store! I do most of all my shopping here. Has a Starbucks. Pizza Station. Can get subs made and hot fresh breakfast sandwiches. Has an Asian Bar during the summer and fresh made sushi by their own chefs. Can order ahead from the deli to have everything ready to just pick up or just order all your groceries online to pickup. Has a great wine selection and offer a discount!

Harris Teeter is a great store with great free samples. Yesterday, I visited this location with my younger cousin, and we found ourselves doing two laps through the store, just to get another round of samples. The free sample experience is perhaps only rivaled by Costco, but as far as HHI free sample experiences go, this was by far the best. I recommend you skip lunch and go find some samples instead. Enjoy.

Extensive selection of everything you can imagine, including organic. Yes, the prices are higher than other local supermarkets, but you get what you pay for, including fresh produce and an extremely clean store. Also, if you get a VIC card, you get great sale prices.

Large, clean, aesthetically pleasing grocery chain with lots of departments and a phenomenal selection of goods. Tucked away off Office Park, you might miss it if youre not looking. Cashiers are always friendly. This is my favorite grocer on Hilton Head Island.

Harris Teeter is one of my favorite things about the south. They double coupons up to $.99 and have triple coupon days. If planned properly, shopping at Harris Teeter can save you over 50% on your grocery bill!

Nice, upscale grocery store in a great location to bike for the days groceries if youre staying in Sea Pines (its just outside the gate) or along Pope Avenue. Friendly staff, good wine selection.
