I was looking for a store with a good selection of hiking supplies. I live an hour away and had never heard of General Mast. Today, I was in town for another appointment and decided to visit. WOW! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and given a quick tutorial on the layout of the store. Then, I was directed downstairs to the bottom floor which is entirely devoted to quality, highly rated outdoor gear. Once again, I was immediately greeted by Ashlin. She was amazing. She was so patient and detailed helping me select everything from boots to socks! She really knew the products well. I price checked against Amazon while there. I paid only $8 more for boots (well worth the expertise and convenience) and the other items were priced the same as Amazon. I was so absorbed, two hours literally flew by and I didnt even get to check out to first floor! Cant wait to go back!

Mast General Store is great. They have such good outdoors gear, a friendly staff, and have led the redevelopment momentum of this part of Main Street. I usually stick to the downstairs because I love the hardcore outdoors gear and the main floor is more generalized. Its a great place to shop but if you need specialized outdoors gear try Get Your Gear on.

One of my favorite stores in Columbia. From old-timey toys and barrels of candy, to great outdoor clothes and camping gear, to music and kitchen cookery they have a great variety. The staff is kind, and the store is just a lot of fun.

This store is massive. There are souvenirs for just about anyone here. The staff are always friendly and helpful. This store was integral in the rebirth downtown Columbia. One of my favorite stores in Columbia to go to.

The store has a lot of neat stuff. Things you havent seen in years. Nice people that works here. The candy is very expensive. Im unsure about how they weigh it but a handful of candy shouldnt be five bucks.
