I placed my china order with Vieuxtemps in February 2012 and have yet to receive it (March 2013). I have ordered the same exact china through Williams-Sonoma (Pickard Signature Monogram) and it takes about 4-6 weeks. My wedding was in November 2011 and I received several gift certificates to Vieuxtemps where I had registered for our Pickard SIgnature Monogram china. I was living in Charleston at the time of our wedding, but have since moved out of town. When I placed the order in February 2012, I told them I would be back in Charleston that May for a friends wedding and they said it would definitely be in by that time and I could pick it up when I was in town. I called in May and they said it had not arrived yet and they would call me when it came in. I got busy with a new job, summer travels, and other things. I emailed and left messages at the store periodically, but never heard back. In September 2012 I contacted Pickard directly and they told me that Vieuxtemps had never placed my order with them. Pickard contacted Vieuxtemps and they finally contacted me back and said they would place my order the next week. I told them that I really wanted to have my china in time for the holidays and they said no problem, it would definitely arrive by then. The holidays came and went and I began trying to contact them again in January of this year. I contacted Pickard as well and they said Vieuxtemps still had not placed my order. I was trying to support a local business, but I would not recommend registering with Vieuxtemps or purchasing products that are not available to buy immediately in the store.

I really wish I had read the store reviews before I registered at Vieuxtemps as I have been very disappointed in their level of customer service. I was (and remain) impressed with their selection, particularly compared to the department stores, and like other customers, I was keen to support a local business. We set-up our registry in November 2011 for our wedding in May 2012 and were told that because Vieuxtemps registry is entirely offline, we would be mailed cards when someone bought us a gift. However, we never received any cards and I regularly had to call and/or email the store to check the registry in order to send thank you cards. All of the sales persons I spoke with were incredibly unprofessional and staff turnover was surprisingly high such that each time I phoned, I had to explain what Id registered for, etc. I was often told to call back because there was a line or that theyd misplaced my file. I am not confident that they have tallied my gifts correctly and am very concerned given the other reviews as Im trying to purchase my china.

Worst service ever. My wedding was over 5 months ago and I still havent received my china. Had the stores manager set my expectations that it would take over half a year to receive my order, I wouldnt have been so upset. The worst part is that I received wrapped cards that said what I had been gifted and by who. There were absolutely no instructions that I had to call into the store and then select which items I wanted. Shipping wasnt included so it turns out Iwont even get all of the items I was gifted by my wedding guests, if I do ever receive them at all!!! I feel like the owner was trying to let this slip through the cracks as if I wouldnt notice that I never received the thousands of dollars worth of gifts I was supposed to get. I have sent literally 27 emails, numerous phone calls and would not recommend anyone go through this store for their finer wedding items.

Our experience with the new owner and staff has been amazing! Weve received everything we registered for in a timely manner and were every impressed with the customer service. We choose Vieuxtemps because of the impressive inventory which has only increased since Natalie took over and began buying for the store. We cant wait to see the new items arriving this Fall. There are so many amazing gifts for an occasion, its our go-to place to shop!
