Most cigar bars offer a certain kind of gentleness; an air of secrecy surrounding people that enjoy a good cigar and conversation. With that being said, I felt compelled to write a review (first one ever) about this establishment. The employee on this night was rude and pompous. We walked in with our own cigars, which I admit is a little disheartening but we spent money on beer and would have bought more. NOW FOR THE SLAMMER!!!, the employee tells us there is a $10 cutting fee. OUTRAGEOUS…No thank you, just the beers. I use my card and he throws on the counter after the charge. OKAY, maybe he is pissed that we brought own cigars. HERE IS THE KICKER!!! “You guys can’t sit in our tables out front” Baffling!!!! I have been smoking cigars longer than this kid been alive (all over the world) and I never been treated this way. So, we take our beers and walk across the street (which I didn’t know was illegal) Guess who walks across the street like some “GESTAPO”, By now I’m pissed…..Found another cigar bar, I one on Meeting Street is much friendlier, whether you buy their cigars or bring your own AND THERE IS NO $10 CUTTING FEE.

I enjoyed Charlestowne a few years ago while staying at an establishment next door. The cigar selections, cigar prices, imbibements offered, comfort of the seating all added to the variance of conversation (reminded me of bull sessions around an old general store) made my visits pleasurable. My wife unleashes me, gives me some money and comes to get me hours later. My only question is the previous reviewer who was insulted while looking for a German razor in a cigar store. Ive extended my limit a few times, but never enough to make that error.

Rudest customer service agent Ive _ever_ ran into. Asked the clerk about how their Merkur Futur safety razor compares to a Mach3 clone they also sell, and instead of answering my question he said: "Well, it doesnt look like you shave anyways." He then proceeded to walk off and start talking to another customer.

My wife and I stopped in during the day to buy cigarettes. The owner was friendly and convinced us to return for the live music later in the evening. We spent most of the night sitting on leather sofas enjoying cigars, wine, beers, music and lots of friendly people. It was a great experience.

Busy Friday night. Crowded. Not much assistance from staff. Limited cigar inventory ie they didnt have any of the cigars I was looking for. Prices were reasonable and the location was excellent. If you forget your cigars or decide youd enjoy one after an excellent dinner, they will do.

This place is a must see when in Charleston. Charles behind the counter will treat you like family and act as your own personal guide to the city. Come by and enjoy a cigar, glass of wine, beer and let Charleston pass by while on the street side patio. MUST GO

We came upon this fabulous place by accident and stayed for a couple of hours! The people were friendly and the wine was excellent! My husband and son savored the cigars as if they were fine wines too. If youre in downtown Charleston you must stop in!

The place is awesome and very military friendly. I was in town on a cross country and the gentleman working the desk was very helpful and I got two great new pipe tobaccos. Now I just have to see if I can get them to ship!

Absolutely THE highlight of our visit! Don is warm, friendly and his shop is inviting! This is a must stop for every cigar lover! Be prepared to stay and if you have children, bring em because they are welcome too.

Live music on the Friday night I was there, excellent cigar and wine selection as well. Very comfortable chairs and they seem to have a deal with the hotel next door to let patrons use the restroom in the hotel lobby.

Great wine selection, good cigar selection, decent prices on both. What made the experience was the cool lounge attached , hung out there for hours with my buddy. Our ladies loved it too, when they eventually joined.

Great place to relax with a great glass of wine. Grab a bottle off the shelf and just pay corkage. Love the chess board but they could do with buying some new pieces. My favourite destination in Charleston.
