I was visiting the area last week and stopped at Islands Meat Market on Saturday morning since I saw the smoker going...They said to come back at 11:30 to get the ribs and chicken....I went back and got a full rack of baby backs and took them home.... They had the perfect sweet/spicy rub and were wonderfully smoked. They melted in my mouth and were bone deep satisfying in an area where seafood is king! This place is marked as a Butcher Shop and they truly are...but they are so much more...beyond having healthy looking cuts of beef, pork, & lamb, they make sandwiches to order. I bought chicken salad and pimento cheese that are made on premise and were fantastic. They have a freezer full of locally caught seafood, bread items and fresh frozen veggies as well as various gourmet items. If I recall, there are a couple of tables outside but this is primarily a takeout place. It is well worth seeking it out!

While at the Island Shopping Center, check out the Island Meat Market, a butcher store that is definitely "a cut above". Known for years by locals for its superlative quality and selection, the store offers virtually any meat that a discerning customer could want. And delicious sides and condiments will add to your culinary delight. The store is kept meticulously clean by owners Julian and Lynn who will gladly make custom cuts and special order. Go once and you will be a customer for life.

I found this butcher by accident and boy am I glad I did. Not only do they have the usual items, but they also have freezers full of everything from Ostrich meat to Elk burgers. I left with some homemade veal stock (which would take me all day) and some great steaks. Ill be back for the fresh homemade ready-to-go meals and weekly specials. Be sure and get on their email list - every week I cant wait to go back.

My hasband and I moved out to ladys island, due to the Marines and we were told about this place. It is the most amazing place to get meat and the man that works there is so nice. We always feel welcome when we go there. And you dont find that in many places anymore. It you want fresh meat go here!!!!

The place is clean and staff is friendly enough. I was there to buy goat meat. I think the goat meat was pricey, but I chalk it up to location. Goat isnt a popular meat. But I love it
