Pros & Cons of Discount Groceries- Discount grocery stores have both strong points and drawbacks.. Advantages- If you liken garage sales to treasure hunts, you’ll love bargain grocery stores. My prizes have included scented candles I’ve given as gifts, and all-natural peanut butter discounted at more than half off the regular grocery store price.Some accept manufacturer’s coupons. For instance, if you have a coupon for $1.50 off a 12-ounce bag of ground coffee, you’d pay $6.99 if you went to a supermarket charging a normal rate of $8.49. However, at a bargain store selling the same bag of coffee for $3.99, you’d pay only $2.49!If you have brand loyalty for certain products, you can occasionally find them for a much lower price at a no-frills grocery. I recently saw Softsoap hand soap bottles for $0.99, compared to $1.49 at a Wegmans supermarket. Disadvantages- Some discount grocery stores do not accept credit cards. This is no big deal if you normally pay for your groceries with cash or a depit card, but my husband and I buy almost everything with cash back credit cards in order to rack up rewards points. Final Word- Cut-rate grocery stores are a great way to save money on your food bill as long as you’re willing to keep an open mind and take the time to closely examine what you’re putting in your cart. As long as your pantry is stocked with food that tastes fine, who cares if the packaging isn’t pretty? You can eat healthy on a budget..

Love it here. Great variety. Great deals. I have never had anything wrong with anything I bought here. Great selection of produce too. 90% of my groceries are bought here. Almost have to go too often to try and catch the best deals. A Lot of "weird" stuff too that you would not expect to find. Probably because it does not sell at high volume grocery stores. Greek Yogurt and certain chips is almost a steal here (one time I got Chobani 16oz for 99 cents and yeah, of course its past "best by" data but who cares, Greek yogurt is known to be good 4-6 weeks after data). Only negative is time to checkout. Usually only one checkout open. And they dont always get other lines open until the 1st line is like 5 people deep.

Great deals on dairy (yogurt, cheese) and some prepackaged goods. I have noticed like another user said that prices are going up. I hope this is not a trend. I noticed this especially in the dog food section. I bought milkbone vitamin treats for $2.99 and then got home and realized they were expired since 3 months ago. Usually, if its expired its less than .99 cents. I however love the NOSH section prices and will be coming here especially for that. If you want better prices on produce try Aldi. Come to browse and find some deals. I am giving this place 3 stars because of the price increase and the fact they do not accept manufacturer coupons anymore.

I stop here every time I drive through York. The deals are incredible -- the items are the same youd see in a name-brand grocery store, but with a discount of 75% or more. The store used to be called Amelias Grocery but was bought by a chain called Grocery Outlet thats based in Berkeley, California. Since the purchase, this store has gotten even better. Theres a large selection of organic foods and supplements, including protein powder and bars, with prices way below competitors.

I have been a regular shopper there since they opened as Amelias, unfortunately your prices have increased so much that I will no longer shop there. Your prices are equivalent to Weis and Giant so there is no bargain. Best of luck with your business and if your prices were to become "outlet" prices again I may consider shopping at your store again.

LOVE it. I save at least 50% on groceries. Although some complain about a wait - its never very long and shoppers need to understand that the great prices mean there will not be mutiple check out lanes or your cost will go up. I wait longer (and pay much more) at Weis. Friendly staff. Love it!

This is not a discount store. Theyre basically selling almost expired groceries at the same price you can get at a regular grocery store with your bonus card. The store may have gotten a deal on the food, but they are definitely not passing those savings along to the shoppers.

Nice Grocery Outlet store without the fee of a Costco. Its nice to find surprises for new things they get. But if you dont buy them fast they may never be back again. Wonderful to have gluten-free items there as well
