HORRIBLE! Needed a place to work on my computer for grad class and grab a snack. Did not want to go to Starbucks... @12:45 they were out of five things I wanted to order including toast :( I got a hot chocolate that LOOKED amazing - had lots of toppings but unfortunately was not very good. I also got an overpriced tart which was gross - I only ate a few bites... I went upstairs to a crowded somewhat zombified room of people with awkward seating... Finally got the couch... After dusting off the crumbs of the people before me I had a comfortable place... Then I got the attitude of a server who looked so unhappy & defeated she could only muster an ounce of customer service. Lovely! I told a couple they could join my table as they had no where to sit... We then had to listen to some loud strange man over share about prostitution... Oh wow, I will stay in my section of the City... Keep it classy, Chestnut Hill... Guess it will have to be Starbucks next time I visit. The only compliment deserved - the bathroom was circular, clean, and nice.

Great place to hit on the way home from work for an evening pick-me-up. Buy a bag (usually 2) of the finest regional coffee around and get a cup on the house. The staff is reliably informative about the different coffees on hand if you need help choosing a winner, and are all friendly, to boot. The seated area is just the right size for a neighborhood coffee joint which extends to the 2nd floor. Ill go completely out of my way at rush hour to get there before closing, and I hate traffic, if that tells you anything.

Great Coffee! Prob best coffee in the area. They get 4 stars for coffee alone. Place is a 2 story Texas sized closet. Downstairs is really small. "claustrophobic" as the reviewer below mentioned is a correct description. Upstairs is ok. Some tables but uncomfortable chairs + an out of place couch from someones living room. Parking in the area is always a pain thanks to PPA. It gets packed out usually with MacBook toting undergrads who hog tables for hours. If your in the area, stop in, def worth a visit!

The coffee was delicious and the 2 muffins we got were tasty. The lower and upper level were packed with people. When I asked if there was seating upstairs as it was our first visit, the barista scoffed, told me "i dunno" and handed me bags for our bakery items just in case. We found seating upstairs and the volume level of people was really intense. We only stayed for about 15-20 min. Wonderful area to explore, but next time our coffee will be to go.

I want to support local I do. BUT WOW! Every time I go in different people different rude problems. People are really snobby that work there. But you can also find the people who think you cant do extra shots in your lattes. Im driving to Starbucks from now on. I took my tip back today and let them know Ill never be back. So sad.

Attractive and convenient locally-owned coffee shop adjacent to the SEPTA Chestnut Hill West terminus. My companion said his drip coffee was the best he had yet had during his visit to the city. Elevator and stair access to second floor, which is a quieter area for patrons. Accessible restroom on first floor.

Came to NW philly to visit family and wanted to try something new. They immediately recommended this place. It was spot on. The latte was great. Service was very good. It was a bit busy but that did not bother me. They have some good nooks and seating upstairs if you want to get a corner to yourself.

I love this place. One of my students recommended it, and its been my coffee shop of choice since then. I usually take home a bag of whole bean coffee once a week. The beans are consistently outstanding, and their arent many other roasters in philly that can beat their quality to price ratio.

I thought the cafe looked promising, lovely downstairs, very drab, claustrophobic atmosphere upstairs. Great pastries, but my cappucino needed 2 extra shots off espresso coffee to taste like what I consider italian strength cappucino. Tried drinking an espresso and found the coffee very bitter.

Great coffee, interesting interior, nice vibe. Really enjoyed the atmosphere here! Baristas are friendly and welcoming, with plenty of seating including upstairs and outdoor seating! I wish they stayed open past 6pm, to 8pm would be great. Also, the air can be stale and overly warm.

I really just like the coffee. Its a great place though and always clean. Very high quality coffee that they roast in-house, actually on the second floor of the building. Very good. The baristas are friendly and very knowledgeable about the coffee they serve.

One of the best roasters and coffee places in the city. Good, spacious place to set up work if thats your thing. Coffee is smooth and buttery - no acidic aftertaste. Staff is friendly and fast. If youre willing to travel to the burbs, check this place out.

Went in for a small coffee, was greeted by a unfriendly cashier who seemed uninterested in just about everything. Asked for prices on pastries which are not posted and got nothing. Looks like a great place to sit but wouldnt advise any purchases.

They roast their own beans. Espresso is fresh and delicious. Barristas know what they are do and are passionate about coffee. Ambiance delightful. Delicious croissants. Wish they would open a place in Center City (hint, hint).

Good coffee with free refills, but the reason to come is the atmosphere. Its a great place to sit and study or get work done. It has a lot of space, but even so can be crowded. Best coffee shop Ive found in Philadelphia so far.

I usually enjoy this establishment, coffee and service are fine. My big issue is that dogs are allowed and lately the back area, and sofa, contains and smells like dog hair... I do not want pets near my food or beverages...

Love this place b/c it roasts small batches of coffee that are always fresh. Good selection of pastries and a comfy place to hang out on the first or second floor. Its on my BESegal Coffee House Tour of Philly.

Great coffee. Lots of people upstairs working on their laptops so we grabbed a table downstairs and chatted for an hour on a Saturday afternoon. Awesome spot to grab an iced coffee before walking around town.

Nice relaxing coffee shop in downtown. The coffee is good and the speciality drinks are well made. There is parking in the back, but there are not a lot of spaces and it is shared by multiple shops.

Kind staff. Great coffee. Limited seating. Get here early to grab a great study spot! Btw, there are tons of outlets, and there are even some from the ceiling. Bring an extension cord. Haha

$3 for a mug of coffee that you get one refill on? Unless you like croissants get there early because all the good stuff is not stocked properly for productive sales to carry the day
