This is the place to meet at the start of a ride since everyone knows where it is ... the selection is nice to look at and most of the guys & gals seem ok. I bought a bike there and the experience, overall, was decent. The intial person with whom I dealt was a jerk, however, and I let the dealership know. I went to get a used bike and the gentleman would not negotiate in any way insisting the bike would sell during the coming weekend open house. "Thats pretty much the deal. Take it or leave it. The bike will sell this weekend." Well, Monday morning, I sent an email stating the bike was still available and I would buy it but I would not deal with this salesperson. Another gentleman, Tyler, called me and we got the deal done. Bill, the gentleman who handled the paperwork, was also great. I let them both know about my displeasure with the initial salesperson. I go back frequently to look at other bikes and the experience Ive had with different people has been inconsistent. Theres a lot of money involved in buying a Harley and Id expect to be treated respectfully. The last time I went in, I was looking at a Super Glide and the salesperson said I looked famililar and then asked me if I was ever in prison? Appalachian obviously doesnt need any more of my business but it is a nice place to go look at bikes. When the time comes that I want to actually buy a new Harley -- and not just look -- Ill go to Susquehanna where the owner came up to me, introduced himself (not as the owner but as Bill), and asked if I needed any help. Great guy, nice dealership and friendly, knowledgable people.

Unhappy Biker here, after taking the bike in on May 23rd and explaining the problem I was told we will will get to it on ThursdayMay 28th due to the Holiday on Monday. I was okay with that. I called on the 28th and told " Oh we didnt get to it today we will get it tomorrow the 29th. I called on the 29th and got the same line " were sorry we will get to it tomorrow the 30th. And of course on the 30th I called and checked on the status and was again told We are sorry we will get to it on Monday the 1st of June. Monday Morning I get a call from the service rep and was given all the bad news to the tune of almost $600.00 in parts and labor. Then I was told we dont have the parts here they will have to be ordered. And it will take 5 to 7 or more days to get the parts in. Just for the record what I am having done is a replacement of the rear master cylinder, rear brake pads, a new front tire and Pa State Inspection. I know repairs these days are expensive and not what they were back when I started riding. But the total expense as well as the down time for my bike is not what I call customer friendly. I will be making other plans in the future for my Harley repairs and it wont be Appalachian. It is now Thursday June 4th 2015 and I am still without my bike. I know its not yet been the 5 to 7 days that I was quoted for the parts to arrive but based on my wait time so far Im hoping I get the bike back by the end of June.

I wanted to buy a used bike from there since i am local. Tony set me up to test drive a Fat Bob. It had literally 11 miles to empty on the fuel gauge. He said i should be fine and i had to persuade him to put gas in it. The bike ended up not working out but I asked Tony to look for something bigger. In the meantime they had looked at my Sportster for trade value. I called Tony later the following week to drive a used Softail. My wife and I went in to meet up with him and the bike would not start. I had to ask if it could be jump started or looked at. After finally getting it started I was then told I had to follow Tony for the test ride. He took us all neighborhood roads where I couldnt get the bike over 30-35 mph. Not a very good test ride. We returned to inquire about a different backrest for the Softail and trading my Sporster. He acted like he no recollection of valuing the bike the week before. He then disappeared for like 10 minutes without telling us where he went. In the meantime other sales folks were asking us if we needed help. Tony then returned, said he had another customer, and asked US if he should get another salesperson to help them. By this point I felt as if he had checked out on us so we left. I took my business to Susquehanna Harley.

I recently purchased my first Motorcycle (a 2010 XL1200N Nightster) from Appalachian Harley-Davidson. Despite some frustrations with the financing process (which was no ones fault BTW), the entire process went smoothly. My Salesperson, Tom G. was knowledgeable and responsive to all my questions. He did not try to dissuade me from anything I did want, and did not try to pressure me into anything that I did not. When I picked the Bike up, being a new rider, Tom took the time to help me get familiarized with all the controls on the bike, and also gave me some pointers on getting started riding. Everyone else in the place, from Chuck and the others in Parts/Service and the ladies in the apparel shop, were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back to them for all my bike accessory and clothing needs. And Ill definitely be going back when Im eventually ready to buy another bike some years down the road. I would recommend that everyone get on a bike, and if youre in this area, Appalachian Harley-Davidson is the place to go.

Lets start off by saying stay away. This place was terrible from the start. Purchased a brand new 14 Harley Davidson. I always ridden Hondas and decided to go with Harley to slow me down a little. Salesman were alright. Parts people are helpful but as for as service and management they have no idea whats going on. My bike had problems like others would but i had to argue with all the staff to get anything fixed. I paid as much for this bike as i would pay for a car. After an arguement with management and parts people they finally fixed the problem. This place should be examined by Harley Davidson Corporate and half the staff need fired. STAY AWAY if your smart.

I pass two or three dealers to come here, and if and when I make my next harley purchase it will be at Appalachian. This is my second harley from Appalachian, and I love the bike. Don is cool and down to earth, and its nice to work with someone who isnt a stuck up pushy sales guy. From the time you walk in the door to the time you leave your acknowledged which is more than I can for some of my local dealers. Everyone is so nice. Till the next time guys.....thanks for everything. I know I already said it, but I absolutely love this bike.
