In 2013 I took my car to Pep Boys after a dealership tried to tell me there was a problem with my car that my long distance relative who is a car mechanic never heard of and advised me to take it somewhere else and see what the other repair shop said. I took my car to the Pep Boys service center on County Line Road in Chalfont. The waiting area is not plush as a dealership but there is free WIFI and a soda vending machine and a Wawa next door! The service repairmen, Matt, called me into the garage. My car was on the lift and he explained what was wrong (simple fixes). The problem the dealership said my car had was not there! I remember thinking how rare it is to find a mechanic that is honest and isnt trying to sell unneeded services or parts. I took my car there last year and this year. Again, Matt was honest, truthful, and pointed everything out and showed where I was probably going to have some future problems, what to look for and keep an eye on. I’ve never had a service technician actually take the time out and explain it honestly and in terms that I could understand. Sure, Matt could have tried to sell me into buying a repair I didn’t need – and it would have added to Pep Boys bank account. But what Matt sold me on was the value of honesty – and I’ll forever be their cheerleader (as long as they continue to employee valuable people like Matt!) and recommend anyone who appreciates honesty AND savings take their cars to the Pep Boys on County Line Road in Chalfont and ask for Matt!

***A lengthy review of a wonderful experience with Nick and Matt. I took my very old, very crummy car to Pep Boys in Chalfont for my inspection. I had known that my car was going to need some work to pass my inspection, but when they called me back it turned out it was going to need a ton of work. From the initial quote, approximately $2000 in repairs. I didnt have much choice because I needed my car. I found out from Nick (who was my point person in the whole process) that more issues came up during the repair process, after the official inspection. However, he told me that since they were missed in the inspection, they were not going to charge me for them, which was a tremendously kind gesture on his part. He kept updating me on the status of my car throughout the next few days. When he and his manager Matt finished their work, I had found out that there were several things that had been found incidentally that they had covered to cost of, and in addition to that they gave me a huge discount on the labor because through a computer glitch, it had not been factored in when they initially quoted me the cost of my repairs. Overall, their honesty and kindness ended up saving me close to $2000. I also found out that they were short staffed, and the two of them worked tirelessly to make sure that my car was taken care of in a timely but safe manner. I could not be happier with my experience at this location.

I do not typically go to Pep boys, as I had some bad experiences at a different location before, but I needed an oil change and new windshield wipers so I stopped in to this location. The service I received was exceptional and I was extremely impressed with the level of concise communication that they gave me about my air filter, etc- as I opted to get 2 other services. I am a female in my 20s with only a basic knowledge of automobiles; however, I know that they gave me accurate information even taking the time to draw a small diagram to show me the direction of the mechanics. I was a walk- in around the early afternoon so fortunately they were able to fit me in and I did not have to wait very long at all. They kept me informed of the status throughout the process & were very friendly, polite, and professional. I did notice they were getting a fair amount of phone calls requesting appts for 4/5 pm so I would advise either going in early or making an appt ahead of time for early evening. I will definitely be returning to this location and so pleased its only a few miles from me.

Just had a very good experience at Pep Boys. I had to get my sons car inspected. The check engine light was on and had to be diagnosed and repaired before it could pass the emissions inspection. The team worked hard to diagnose and fix this stubborn problem as well as get the emissions inspection and state inspection done in a timely manner. All the service staff I had contact with were friendly and helpful. A special "thank you" to sam for spending the extra time at the end of his long day to do the final emissions test.

Took a flat tire in on 2/16/12 and the service manager, Dan Moore, said sure we can fix it...it will take 45min to an hour. So I waited in my car and 30min later, I had the tire in my trunk again. And even what wowd me even more was that he said it was no charge! I was fully expecting to pay $20+ to have it fixed. Im sure this isnt the norm, but was very happy with the service. Ill be back for my tires when they wear away!

Just had a wheel alignment done on my 2007 Toyota and the entire transaction was with sam ! He was polite and soft spoken - no patronizing in sight. Very professional and upfront about the shops capacity to get the work done in a timely manner. Would gladly return - good leadership

I had a wonderful experience at this location. Service was speedy and they were able to fit me in without an appointment. The store manager was very accommodating to all of my requests and explained everything that was done to my vehicle thoroughly.

the mechanic try to screw me with safety Penn dot sticker,demanding to change rear brakes for overprice 200 dol,which was absolutely OK,I checked in new York with my own mechanic. very bed service. never go this place again

Ive been here a few times for inspections and to get a battery tested and replaced. The staff was friendly and the service has always been quick, even without an appointment.
