I dont plan to patron this place anymore. Unlike other negative reviews, I dont have any significant complaints about the staff except that they are extraordinarily pushy. However my main issue is that they are selling products that are old if not expired. I had my suspicions in my first few purchases of products I had been using successfully before, such as the Fresh Rose Mask that I was buying my fourth jar of -- yet for some reason, despite jars 1, 2, and 3 being heaven-scent, my fourth jar from blue mercury broke me out. I bought a refill of my Kiehls Midnight Recovery oil. I had used two bottles of them before and was so happy with the results that I had gone to purchase my third bottle -- but this third bottle from Blue Mercury not only smelled like a completely different product (and unpleasantly so, not the usual pleasant lavender scent), but it made me itch like crazy until it gave me a rash. I bought a refill of my favorite Jo Malone Orange Blossom cologne as well, but it smelled and dried down completely different from the one I bought at the Jo Malone store, as well as all samples of the scent. The Caudalie Beauty Elixir Mist that I had used successfully before gave me a rash when I used the Blue Mercury one. I had raised concerns before about the skincare products to a sales associate who attributed it to the fact that the products I peruse are more natural than others, therefore susceptible to not being able to have two identical jars/tubes. However, I have just noticed something very horrifying on a Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer I bought two weeks ago to refill the tube that Im running out of. Its already expired. I have the date on the tube. It expired two months ago. The tube Im running out of that I bought from nordstroms a year and a half ago hasnt expired yet. And the worst part of all of this is that Blue Mercury, a store thats supposedly high-end, doesnt do refunds. They do store credit only. Its really considerate -- so you can just replace your expired product with another expired product. Whats also considerate is that they dont make you aware of this return policy -- you just sign your name and walk out with your expensive product. Please -- even Forever21 employees warn you that the store policy is store credit only before you pay. And you can get a $6 bra from them.

I went in the other day to take my fiance to finally get his eyebrows cleaned up and Jane who did them did a fantastic job - even he was pleased. I had also been in need of some new make up and the woman who assisted me was very helpful - she listened to what i did and did not like and made some great recomendations. Maybe its because she knew I was going to make a purchase and maybe I got more attention as it was a slow weekday evening but I found everyone to be attentive and very helpful. It also helps that I am very fond of several of their brands, Laura Mercier and Mario Badescu in particular.

I went in to get an eye cream that my sister really likes for her birthday. I was completely ignored, and when I finally wrangled the attention of a salesperson she told me that unless I knew the exact name of the product, she couldnt help me. Even when I told her that I knew what the bottle looked like and knew the approximate price, she said, "You could be describing anything we carry." Yeah, well maybe thats true...but the Nordstrom saleslady helped me find it. Thats why Ill give them my business, and not Blue Mercury.

The first few times I went in, I was ignored. The folks not ignored were the trim and trendy 20 somethings. I still go there because of the excellent, professional, and kind estition, Jane. If you want help with cosmetics, be gently assertive or go to Macys for Clinique, etc, its less expensive and just as good as NARS etc.

Got lots of help and I am not a trendy 20 something. No problem taking anything back. Their own line has no toxic chemicals! The rest beware! Found something I needed there that Sephora did not have.
