I have been going to this place for well over 20 years and will NOT see another doctor. I found this office when I first moved here for college. Now my kids see him too and look forward to their annual visits. If you are used to and like 15min exams & cheap glasses keep moving this is not the place for you! Exams are THOROUGH, no skipping steps, cutting corners or rushing people out of the exam rooms- this is not a turnkey office and I am so grateful after 20 years it hasnt gotten that way. Leslie is AMAZING with kids and older folks. Joe may look like "some old guy" but what he can do in house with cutting of glass is nothing shy of Wizardry. Susan can be a bit stand offish at times BUT she is detail focused! She ensures ALL Ts are crossed and Is are dotted- translation, zero insurance hassles! In addition, every summer the good doctor and his family take a month long vacation to a poorer nation and provide no cost eye exams and glasses. And on a local note, he is a longtime supporter of KEXs KIDS Fund- which provides free eye exams and glasses to kids under 18- whos family can not otherwise provide eye care. I am a proud supporter of this office and the work they do. I wont lie, on occasion (and I mean rare occasion over 20 years) we have had to wait. I dont mind because I know the quality and care he provides to EVERY patient that comes to him. Its satisfying to know that no one is treated like a number or insurance check. Everyone gets the time and care they need when going to 20/20. And (getting long I know) there is a good variety in glasses here- they really go above and beyond ensuring comfort and adjustments throughout the year.

I have had a couple experiences of long waits. However, I have never had better experiences with any of my doctors over many years. And Im a pretty old guy. Dr. Gerig is an exceptional doctor. He is not only a knowledgeable doctor but is also articulate and more importantly willing to share his knowledge so as to educate his patient. My experience with many of my doctors is that it seems that they are protecting me from their knowledge. My main objective whenever I visit with a doctor is to understand what my condition is and what I could do to improve my health. Dr. Gerig is more than generous with sharing and thoroughly informing me of my current eye status and what I might need to do to improve my eye health. I am a big fan of Dr. Gerig and recommend him highly. His staff is excellent. They are also knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. They are skilled in multiple aspects of selecting and fitting properly glasses. All in all my every visit has been a successful experience. Bob Simons

Never have I had such poor sevice. As a First Time Client, I was there 10 minutes early because I am/was going to be a first time client. I sat waiting for an additional 30 minutes. Keep in mind, I was the only person in the entire office. Not only was the Greeting Very Poor by some woman, but then an older gentleman came out and tired answering the phones..I listened to the phone ring off the hook and witnessed yet more bad service from the gentleman whom was at the front desk once the woman disapeared. My appointment was at 12:30pm .I got there at 12:20pm..Finally I left a 1:00pm....and no one in sight, not even the respectionist. Very disappointing, as I was referred by a good friend and was prepared to refer to a co-worker as well...What a waste of my time today, I was on my lunch hour!

I find these bad reviews to be completely shocking. We have been going to 20/20 eye-care for about 2 years now and I have never had such wonderful customer service. The receptionists are so polite, friendly and helpful- they have gone above and beyond several times to accomodate our family. Dr. Gerig is suberb and really takes time to explain any questions I have. They are very communicative and explain everything fully, they call right away when my contacts come in and they are happy to answer any questions. I have never once had any trouble with insurance billing and I get new contacts and glasses once to twice a year. I have never been to a nicer, cleaner, more friendly eye clinic. Their equipment is state of the art and their staff is just outstanding.

If you want to spend all day being in the waiting room, this is the place for you!!! I even called ahead of time to make sure they were on schedule and they told me it would take about 20-30 min. When I got there, I did the usual fill out paper works and took a simple light test. Then more waiting and waiting and waiting. After 1/2 hour, I told the receptionist that it has been 1/2 hour. Keep in mind that during this whole time, there were people coming in and out getting stuff done and has left...people who came after me left way way way before I even got to see the doctor. After waiting another 20 min, I decided it was time to walk. I told them that I have never waited this long before to see an EYE doctor. Will never, ever go back to this place again.

Dr. Gerig guided me through my lasik experience even though I was quite apprehensive at first. He discussed the pros and cons in great detail and actually even suggested I try contacts first before going through with it. The appointments before and after the surgery were very thorough and the doctor always answered all my questions regarding the procedure. He has continued to be my eye doctor so I now go in once a year and each and every time he is very thorough. Any time I have any questions about my vision, he is always willing to spend the time to answer them completely. My entire family goes to Dr. Gerig now and we are very happy with him and all of his staff.

Thank goodness there are high quality optometrists like Dr. Gehrig still around. I had been to Binyons and got a pair of progressive lenses which were basically worthless. Then I went to LensCrafters where I wasted another 3 weeks while they tried, and tried to get my glasses right. I finally realized that to get quality work, you have to go to an experienced eyecare facility. That place IS 20/20 Eye Care in Tigard. Dr. Gehrig was able to give me perfect vision, with one set of progressive lenses, the FIRST time through. His staff is so wonderful, kind, and competent. I will never go to discount eyewear factories again!

I was pretty nervous about my appointment after I read some reviews online. But I didnt experience ANY of the things that were mentioned. The front staff was very nice when I arrived. I didnt wait at all for my appointment and the Dr....he was SO COOL. He explained everything very clearly for me. He gave me options and shared his thoughts on what I should look for in the future. I am very pleased with this place and will go again as needed. The glasses selection was nice, but out of my price range, thats the ONLY reason they got 4 stars, I would have liked a few more options in lower prices.
