I just left the store because I had a horrible feeling of being looked down on and judged by an employee. I went shopping there with my friend who accidentally locked the family bathroom and she got told in a really rude tone that the bathroom is not to be locked. She apologized because she didnt know but when she got out of the bathroom the employee was by a clothing rack with another employee saying rude things, judging her, looking at her up and down. Youre only human and everyone makes mistakes but as a retail employee myself I know thats not exemplary employee etiquette.

Service staff friendly. Just store was very fragrant. Had an asthma attack while shopping. Couldnt tell if it was sales associate or other customer with high cologne on. Couldnt breath. Got order placed and got home to take inhaler. Will have to remember to bring inhaler if shop in-store again Its good policy as employees that there are people with health conditions so dont wear cologne to work. Other shoppers need to remember respect of others as well. This was an over all great experience best I have received in years by jc penny,s

Salem Center Store employees are very pleasant and helpful with the tools given by JCP. However when I needed information on one of their major labels "Cooks" they could not provide the web address or phone number. This information is not on- line so I am really left out in the cold with merchandise I cannot use because it is missing parts. It was a gift and I was eager to purchase parts did not ask for a return or cash back but was unable to complete to any satisfaction the transaction needed.

Can I help it if I like JCPennys? They always seem to have at least a few things Im looking for, be it Levi jeans or Nike sportswear. But they also have great deals on no-name brands that are nearly as good. The building seems always in a state of remodel. The whole store was completed not ten years ago and just recently it looked as though they were at it again. I hope the store remains in Salem to anchor that corner of downtown.

Kudos to Mike in the shoes dept!!!! I had a broken pair of shoes after just THREE weeks and came in for a simple return. Wound up finding another pair I liked just as well, and Mike made sure I was taken care of! Im so blessed to have a "big box store" with a "small town service" feel right here in Salem!!!!

Went to get a jacket for the wife, asked two associates for help. One said, "I dont know, maybe downstairs." The other said, "I work in make up. Maybe look over there." Neither of to at least point me to someone that could help. Guess Ill stick to online shopping.

The store was far too hot. Got what i needed and paid and hurried out. Didnt get everything I went for but the store was too hot to look around. I heard several other customers complain and say "its hotter in here than it is outside"

JC Penny does not offer their help to you any more. I was told by the staff. Its self serving. If I want that type of service I would have gone to Payless shoe source.

We come here for the portrait studio and Sephora. I once had an awesome coupon but other than that I dont really shop here. Its sort of like a snobby K-Mart.

The prices at sale time are incredible and their clothes are very awesome. I hadnt been to a JC Pennys in years and i felt very at home here. Nice staff.
